《With You (A Kamijirou Fanfic)》Chapter 23

Kyoka looked down at the proceeds of the final battle between Bakugou and Midoriya. An occasional sigh would tickle her ears from the boy seated next to her. It was painfully obvious that Denki was still a little salty about losing the second round to Kirishima. Kyoka on the other hand, managed to survive up to the third round where she lost to Tokoyami. She absentmindedly began to caress the blonde's head.
"It's alright, Denks. Your quirk's just at a disadvantage over Kirishima's, it isn't your fault."
He met her eyes with a slightly dejected look on his face. "But I promised to at least compete with you. But that never happened. I broke my word," Denki huffed. Glancing at her worried face from the corner of his eye, he added. "Don't worry, I'm not depressed. It's just bad luck."
Nodding her head, Kyoka turned her head to see Midoriya fling Bakugou out the ring. It was no easy feat, as they both put up equal struggle and effort to take the other guy down. And it lasted a good 30 minutes at that...it might as well have been a new world record. At the very last moment (and much to Bakugou's displeasure), Midoriya hooked Bakugou by the leg and sent him flying off the stage.
The crowd cheered, since most of them were Deku fans and were still pretty bitter about last year's match between Bakugou and Uraraka. Kyoka flinched at the sight. Damn, Bakugou...when're you ever gonna stop making enemies?
The siren sounded, signalling the end of the annual Sports Festival. The crowd presented a standing ovation as they did every year. Though UA may have given the usual stuff every year, they never fail to satisfy the spectators.
Ryukyu cleared her throat once the last of the fans had left the stadium. "As you students might've heard, UA is holding something different this year!" Excited whispers and gasps sounded among the fray of students when reminded of the possible treat. When the dragon heroine raised the mic to her lips again the bustle calmed. "UA will be holding a mini bazaar, complete with food stalls, games, entertainment and many more to reward you all for your spectacular performance this year! In addition, a special dance will be held later tonight. So I hope everyone here has that special someone you'd like to take...if not, then I suppose Ectoplasm wouldn't mind sparing a few of his clones to accompany you.."

Choking noises could be heard somewhere from the far corner of the vast area, giving Kyoka the idea that the little comment Ryukyu had given had not been discussed with the said teacher.
"So, enjoy the rest of your day! You're free to go!" Ryukyu concluded, as she got called over by Ectoplasm sensei, most likely to be confronted about the statement she mentioned earlier.
Denki went from exhausted to extreme ecstasy in less than a second. Imagine all the things he would do with Kyoka for the rest of the day! But unfortunately, that ecstasy went as quickly as it came as his cousin appeared by his side to drag him to the food stalls.
"Nuh-uh. You're spending the day with you're big bro! You hardly hang out with me anymore after you got yourself a chick. It's Bro-Time. We're dragging Neito with us too, just like the old times," Keijirou excitedly cheered. "C'mon, Denks! We're visiting every single stall!"
"All of them?! B-but...!"
"No buts! This is what you get for abandoning your cousin! Bye, Kyoka-chan, I'll be borrowing your boy for the day~!"
"K-Kyoka...! Save me...!!"
Kyoka simply waved, a sweet smile stretched across her face, to Denki's disappointment. "Bye, Denki, Hajime-san! Have a great time."
A faded "Mean Kyokaa!" could be heard from the distance as the two disappeared from sight.
Kyoka giggled to herself. "I guess I could finally spend some time with the girls!" she thought, satisfied with her decision.
(Denki's POV)/(It's been a while since I did first person POVs 'v' )
"Kaminari... tell me again why are we being lugged around by this guy...?" Monoma grumbled, jabbing a finger at Keijirou.
I, equally as irritated, groaned back. "Dunno, dude. At this point, I've given up resisting." There's no point fighting this guy. He was equally, if not stronger than the two of us combined and he a little more experience than the both of us, since he was in school longer than we had, plus he played a pretty major part in the big battle last year. () Not to mention that he had all the dirt on us from our childhood. Yeah, sure, I mean, we both could have dirt on him as well, but the problem is we don't. That dude is sneakier than he looks.

"Well, well, well....look who's lookin' awfully tasty!" Keijirou said, smacking his lips and eyes glinting with excitement as he eyeballed the grilled squid. Something tells me this will take a long time before I will be able to meet up with Kyoka again...
~~~~~~
(3rd person POV)
Kyoka were with the girls as they dolled up for the party later. Mina started humming...which usually wasn't a good sign.
"Hey girls, has anyone asked you to the dance yet?" she asked, smirking. A small erruption of giggles sounded through the room.
Uraraka couldn't stop smiling as she told the girls how uncharacteristically shy and stuttery Bakugou was when we asked. ship.
Momo calmly smiled (though Kyoka could tell she was shaking with nerves on the inside). Todoroki had taken her out for dinner the day before when he invited her.
Hagakure was practocally freaking out, remnicising the moment when Ojiro had romantically got down on one knee and asked her to go out with him. He even gave her a promise ring.
The girls already know that Tokoyami had offered Tsuyu flowers when he asked her the day before...it was really unexpected of him.
Mina proudly boasted about how manly Kirishima was during his proposal
Kyoka smiled, but kept details simple as she explained how Denki asked her to go with him. "He was quite serious when he asked."
They all agreed that Denki had finally matured and that Kyoka was indeed lucky to have a guy like him.
**
As the girls were gossipping in their room, a certain someone was eavesdropping outside.
"I wonder if their talking about me... they have to be!" Mineta muttered to himself, drooling in excitement. He was in one of his frenzies again. "I hope it's about Yaoyorozu dumping Todoroki for me instead...what does that guy know about romance? If it's a man Yaoyorozu wants, she should have asked me, not Todoroki-"
"What about me?" The grape head fearfully and hesitantly turned his head, hoping he was just hearing things. Unfortunately for him (but fortunately for us), it was all just wishful thinking. The bi-haired boy was staring right into the depths of?" his perverted soul. Though he managed to keep a straight face, his eyes were burning with fire. Sero, who was with him, stepped away, just in case he suddenly burst into flames.
Mineta tried to come up with a defense, but to his despair, no words, not even a letter sounded from his mouth.
"What about Yaoyorozu, Mineta? You were saying something about her too, weren't you?" the angry boy pushed on.
Sero immediately took action before some serious damage could be done. "Todoroki-kun, I think you should let this slide for today. You don't want Aizawa to reprimand you and stop you from taking Yaomomo to the dance, would you?"
The sizzling on his left side immediately ceased. "Oh. You're right." He decided to leave the small boy be, but gave him a death glare as he walked away.
Mineta's eyes sparkled. "SERO!! MY HERO!!!"
The raven haired boy glared at him. "I wasn't doing it for you," he muttered as he nearly strangled him to death, wrapping him tightly in a tape cocoon.
Insides, the girls weren't surprised at all as they laughed.
"They're at it again, aren't they?"
"Yep."
Blood Demon's Retirement
Civil War had raged on the Al-Shan Archipelago for the past four decades, only recently coming to an end with the enthronement of the new Emperor. This is not his story. The Blood Demon, renowned general of said civil war, was tired of all the fighting and politicking that had described the last four decades of her existence. All she really wanted to do now is to go out into the world and see the many lands from her father's stories. Thus she retired, and went and did exactly what she wanted. This is the story of what happens when you toss a (retired) war machine with somewhat lacking common sense into an unsuspecting world at peace. Chapters will range from 1-2.5k words, scheduled for release every day from Monday to Friday. First time posting a story on Royal Road here, hoping you folks will enjoy. Expect: -slow going slice of life with occassional faster paced action -world building -detailed anecdotes on the world, its races, the magic system, and whatnot every now and then Do not expect: -romance, other than maybe some passing mentions -politics, again, barring passing mentions Any comments, reviews, and criticism will be much appreciated. And thank you for reading. ---------------------------- Disclaimer: This story is my original work and only posted on the Royal Road and Scribblehub websites. If you should find this story elsewhere or under another name, please let me know. Also please don't be too hard on me when I make occasional grammatical mistakes, English is my third language after all. XD Edit suggestions are very welcome though. Discord
Of Gods and Dungeons
March 16, 2021 - Hiatus note: I will come back to this story! I'm really struggling with it, though. It's been a number of years and I kind of forgot what the original outline was. I still remember the main path, but not any of the details, because I stupidly didn't write an outline. Progress is being made. I'd like a very decent sized buffer before I start posting again. Don't want to get hopes up only to immediately disappoint! ----- Amy Barnes, an aspiring chemical researcher, finds herself dying from cancer. One of her most desperate prayers is answered in a way that she'd never dreamed possible, and she finds herself living a new life as a dungeon. Warning: Violence, morbidity Cover: Taken from here, courtesy of www.pexels.com by photographer @tookapic. Author's Note: I've read some dungeon core stories on here, and they've tickled my fancy. I've thought up a whole story, start to finish, and thought it'd be a blast to put it into words. Other than the violent and morbid aspects, this story is suitable for children. Aside from the vocabulary, that is. I will avoid the temptation to have any cursing, sexuality, or gore. Excessive gore, I suppose - it is a dungeon story, after all. I’ll do a little research from time to time, but this story will not have a great deal of rigor. I’ve made Amy’s knowledge comparable to my own for that reason. There’s a few things she knows more about than I do, and a few things that she knows less about. Unlike me, she doesn’t have access to Google - it’s a non issue for her to be more knowledgeable than me, on occasion :P This story does not use the same magic system that I’ve used in either Sorcery in Boston or A Summoner’s Confession. This one is mostly intention based, and designed to be easier access for people who are more used to the idea of, “It’s magic, therefore it works” kind of thinking. Do note that Amy is, in most senses of the term, overpowered. This goes along with the usual dungeon core stories. She’s not more powerful than other dungeons per se, but she does have knowledge and intelligence that puts them to shame. I thought about doing this in a LitRPG style, but systems take balance, and I wanted this to be pure fun to write.This story was inspired from a few sources. Despite the title, it wasn’t really inspired by Of Mice and Men, though some of the themes match. Rather, I’ve taken inspiration from a few dungeon core novels on Royal Road Legends for the main idea. Many conventions of dungeon core stories have been perverted from the genre, however. I’ve taken my usual science-loving self to town to play around with the powers, and I can only hope you have half as much fun reading this as I have had writing it.
