《With You (A Kamijirou Fanfic)》Chapter 17

(Kyoka POV)
"How many guards?" Kirishima whispered. Right now, the students of the rescue team, including me were huddled in a corner of an alley, right in front of the hideout...which turned out to be yet another warehouse. Warehouses are so overused for villains, especially in movies.
"Five on the east side!" Mineta signalled from the top of the building. Why was the little runt tagging along in such an important mission? Well, it turned out that he was knocked out by some hot chick, which was actually Toga, based off the information the teachers have gathered. Mineta felt guilty for getting tricked like that and Aizawa thought his quirk might come in handy.I suppose he had actually felt guilty, he hasn't even looked at Momo below the neck for quite some time now. It's surprisingly impressive.
Midoriya nodded in reply and he turned to me. "What're you hearing from inside?"
I listened a bit more carefully, pushing my jacks even deeper into the concrete. "Footsteps. About at least five people....and voices. My estimation is that they're all on the ground floor ."
"We should do a surprise attack from above," Todoroki spoke up.
Momo nodded in agreement. "Good point, Todoroki-san. Mina can secrete acid to burn a hole into the ceiling of the ground floor and Todoroki and Sero could incase them in ice and tape. It will only stop them temporarily, but it should save us enough time to steal Kaminari back."
Mr Aizawa would be available in case we needed back up as he decided this would be a perfect opportunity for us to gain extra experience in the stealth field. Whatever was that teacher thinking??
"So, I assume we all agree with this plan?" Midoriya asked, staring at all of us, as if to challenge us to come with a more effective plan. Everyone nodded. No one can come up with a better plan than him, anyway.
Uraraka pumped her fists and whispered. "Let's go save Kaminari!"
(Denki POV)
I flopped onto a table in an empty room, exhausted beyond compare. It's already a miracle how I haven't went brain dead yet from the amount of things I have to power and charge. Phones, tablets, computers, microwaves, you name it. Did they really want me to join the league or did they just want a free electricity supply? I missed all my friends even though I've only been here for a day. The only thing I wanted to do is to go home and run straight into Kyoka's arms. I swear, the first thing I'll do after all this is settled is to confess to her one more time, about everything I felt about her. Even if she rejects me, at least I would have told her everything I needed to. No beating around the block, just the truth.

I closed my eyes, escape plans formulating in my mind, each one seemingly more bizarre than the next. Chuckling to myself, I thought Since when have I thought up plans? I'm not myself...I must be going insane.
My train of thoughts were interrupted by inconsistent and irritatingly loud tapping. It wasn't the league, that's one thing. If they wanted me, they would yelled, not tapped. I listened to the taps more carefully. Was this morse code?? Gah!! I shouldn't have dozed off during classes. I made a mental note to inhale more caffeine so I don't miss out on these life saving techniques next time.
A sour smell reached my nose. It smelled oddly familiar. I looked up, bewildered as I watched smoke seep through the ceiling. Don't tell me Dabi was drunk again. Or that Spinner set the microwave to cook at 3000 degree for one second. They may be villains, but they're still a bunch of weirdos. The smoke (or whatever that created it) burnt a hole into the ceiling, large enough for a grown man to crawl through.
As if Kami-sama had answered my pleas, the face I wanted to see most peered down at me from the hole.
"Geez, Denki. You really ought to pay more attention to your stealth and codes class if you wanna live," Kyoka said, rolling her eyes.
Another face popped out and grinned at me. "We won't be able to save you all the time, bro," Sero snickered, shooting tape out of his elbow and reeling me towards them.
I looked around the dark room, shocked. Kyoka, Sero, Todoroki, Yaomomo, Ashido, Kirishima, Uraraka, Bakugou, Midoriya and even Mineta were there. My lips trembled and my eyes brimmed with tears. I scrunched up my face, afraid I might burst into tears.
Uraraka laughed. "What's with the ugly face, Kaminari-kun? You look like Deku-kun from last year's sports festival," she choked.
Midoriya blushed in embarrassment. "H-hey! Don't bring that up, Uraraka-san!" Bakugou glared at him with murderous intent. I guess the two of them are still at it.
Kirishima smacked me on the back. "Don't cry here, it ain't manly. Especially not infant of Jirou. Now c'mon, the rest of the class are waiting for us outside. Let's get outta here before the league finds out."
Cracking a smile at last, I happily replied, "Yeah!"

The tension dissipated the moment I stepped into Heights Alliance. It was as if the fact that I've been rescued had finally sunk in. I was soon overwhelmed with attention.
"Welcome back, Kaminari!"
"Have some red velvet! I made some for you this morning!" Sato said cheerily, squashing a huge slice into my mouth, making me gag a little. Not because it tasted horrible, it tasted amazing as usual...it's just that it went a little too deep into my throat. Sato somehow reminded me of my grandmother.
"Glad to have you back," Ojiro said, clapping me on the back which stopped me from choking.
Momo rushed over with some tea. Wait...didn't we just get back? How was she able to make fresh, hot tea in mere seconds?! "Have some of this camomile tea, Kaminari-kun! It'll help you relax." I shrugged and thanked her, gulping down the tea.
It was very unusual for the class to fuss over me, I am the class joker after all. But I'd lying if I said I wasn't touched. Even Bakugou showed he was somehow grateful to have me back. In his own way, of course. That is giving me a nagging that was equally (if not longer) as long as the lecture Iida gave me on the way home. I didn't even listen to a word either of them said..I was happy they cared for me, is all. Pretty quickly, my "welcoming back" session turned into a welcome back party. This class sure loved parties.
"Hey..." I turned around to meet eyes with Shinsou. My eyes lit up.
"Hey, hey, hey! Shinsou! How ya been? It's been a while since I last saw you! What have you been up to, you bastard?" I asked, roughly pulling him down with my elbow and giving him a friendly noogie
Shinsou awkwardly scratched his neck, a light blush on his face. "I just wanted to apologise for everything. Mostly about what I said to Jirou."
I squinted my eyes. "Whut?"
He chuckled in response. "It's alright, you'll understand. All I can say is...you better speak to her soon while you have the chance."
I remembered what I vowed to myself back at the villain's hideout. "Yeah! Will do!"
Shinsou's phone rang loudly. He looked at his phone, his cheeks pinking further. "Oh...my girlfriend's calling."
I smiled at first, not too sure what was going on. Then my eyes widened in realisation. It seemed like Kyoka overheard too, because we both yelled, "EEEHHH?!"
"Girlfriend? I thought you were gay," Kyoka squeaked in surprise (I thought it was kinda cute!).
Tears of blood streamed down me and Mineta's faces. "SHINSOU!! You lucky bastard! You got yourself a girl!!"
"How'd you do it?! Tell me your ways! I'm soooo jealous!" Mineta cried. He had some serious character development, but I guess some things never change.
Shinsou looked at us blankly, with a slight blush on his face. "I'll tell you later, Kaminari. Right now you have some things you have to do, yourself," he said. I beamed at him in reply. "Oh, yeah, Kaminari?"
"Hm?"
Shinsou gave me a small smile. "Welcome back."
"I'm home," I replied, grinning from ear to ear.
Toga stretched as she walked into the warehouse. "Ahhh finally! That took forever!"
Mr Compress rolled his eyes in exasperation. "Not my fault you wanted a McD and everyone couldn't decide over the phone."
Dabi and Spinner set the bags of burgers and trays of drinks onto the table.
Shigaraki took out his phone. "Ah...my battery's down again. Where's Kaminari? I need to recharge!"
Twice ran into the room. "I don't know! I can't find him anywhere."
Mr Compress shrugged. "The heroes took him back, if you haven't noticed all the unconscious guards around the building," he said, sipping his Sprite.
"DAMNN YOU, HEROES! DAMN YOU, KAMINARI! DAAAAMMMNNN YOOUUUU ALLL MIIIGHT!!" Shigaraki yelled.
Dabi sighed as he set down. "Kaminari was a pain in the ass anyway, whining about some girl. Next time, maybe you should pay for your own electricity instead of being a cheapskate."

8 143El's Revenge
“Revenge is not for the dead- we, as the living, take revenge to relieve the burden we feel,” I whispered into the air. “Salvation for the people who suffered because of you,” I watched as the city burned in the flames. “Salvation for the people like me, who believed in the proclaimed heroes when in reality they were the devils.” I smiled faintly as the ‘holy land’ of those ‘saints’ was destroyed. I heard rustling sounds as Charlotte came to stand next to me, grabbing my hand. “El, are we the bad guys?” If I was still the same as I was before, I might’ve broken down and started crying. Now, it was different. “A villain is just another victim. They cry and mourn, it’s just that no one heard, leading them into madness. It’s one of the reasons why we know the most, but care the least.” I took a deep breath. “We may be the bad guys in other peoples’ eyes, but in my story, we’re the heroes.” Charlotte took in my words for a while and pondered, before nodding in agreement. “As children, we loved the heroes, as adults we understand the villains.” I looked at her and bonked her on the head, earning an angry glare from her. “Hey! You’re barely an adult yourself you know,” she grumbled. I laughed and ruffled her hair, before countering her. “At least I’m not 12. You can’t even be considered a teenager at that age.” After that, we silently watched the flames ravage the land, before leaving.
