《With You (A Kamijirou Fanfic)》Chapter 16

Kyoka woke up in a daze in a comfortable bed of the school's infirmary. The last thing she remembered was Denki talking to her after her dispute with Hajime-senpai. A loud snore from the end of the bed interrupted her train of thoughts, causing her to jolt up. Kyoka heaved a sigh when she saw the girls from her class.
"Oh, Kyoka-chan, you're awake," Yaoyorozu whispered, careful not to wake up the sleeping beauties that were sprawled around the bed.
"Yaomomo..." Kyoka breathed sitting up straight, causing her friend to lie her back down.
"Recovery Girl said to rest. You were knocked up pretty bad when we found you. You didn't even wake up for a day!" Yaoyorozu continued as she poured some water into a glass and handing it to the weary girl. "You were lying unconscious in front of the entrance...any idea how you got there?"
"No..not really," Kyoka said, rubbing her temples, feeling a migraine take over. "The last thing I remember was having an argument with a senior, then talking to Denki. After that....nothing."
Yaoyorozu raised an eyebrow as she popped out a painkiller and gave it to Kyoka. "Speaking of Kaminari-kun, he went missing yesterday. The teachers are planning to send out a search party for him later tonight."
Kyoka tensed up, all the blood drained from her face. Denki went missing? Knowing the old Denki, he would be out and about, fooling with some random girl he found on the street...doing a terrible job at flirting. But Denki was different now, a lot different. He's stopped flirting with girls ever since they started the second year, and he's mentality has matured quite a bit since then, too. What could've happened then? Dread hit Kyoka like a meteor hit the dinosaurs, making her feel sick to the stomach.

"Yaomomo...you don't think...villains took him?"
Yaoyorozu's serious face faltered into one of sadness. She didn't want to make her friend worry, not when her health condition is at this state. "That's the whole reason there's a search party. We do not know what happened to Kaminari-kun. Let's just hope for the best...that he's safe and just got lost somewhere."
Kyoka could only nod but the feeling won't stop tugging at her. She just couldn't help but feel scared.
"Go back to sleep. You need to recover."
Kyoka heeded, but she felt remorseful . She regretted how she hesitated in telling Denki her feelings. How had Kyoka hated herself at that moment.
~~~~~~
"Oh? So you're finally awake." Kyoka woke up, to see her class teacher sitting by her bed, looking dead tired as usual.
"Aizawa sensei...."
"Don't worry, you're not in trouble. Don't blame yourself for what happened to Kaminari. We recently found some stuff hinting he could have been taken by the league. So I just need to ask you a few questions that might help immensely."
Kyoka's depression suddenly came back. So he had been kidnapped by villains. "Sure, sensei.."
"Where did you last see Kaminari, before you blacked out? And what around what time?"
"The last time I talked to De-Kaminari was on Tuesday, in the courtyard during lunch."
Aizawa nodded and continued. "Was there anyone around during that time?"
Kyoka thought about it. "Two people, sir. One was Kaminari's cousin, Hajime Keijirou from class 3-B. But he was with me the entire time until Kaminari came along."
"Was there anyone else?"
"No, sir."
Aizawa remained deadpanned as he pushed on. "Was there anything off about Kaminari's behaviour?"
Kyoka opened her mouth to speak but then she hesitated. Was it really okay to tell Aizawa about the things that were going on between Denki and herself? Aizawa sighed, reading the expression on her face.
"Look, whatever lovey-dovey stuff going on between you and Kaminari is okay, as long as you keep it to after school and it doesn't disturb my sleep," Aizawa grumbled. How did Aizawa know about that? "But for now, that isn't important. So please answer my question, Jirou."
"He was being unreasonably pushy that day, and he was getting in my personal space. He's not usually like that, he always respected my space and wouldn't push it if I didn't want to," Kyoka explained. "Also, that day, he called me Jirou."
Aizawa nodded. "Which I can assume you two are on first name basis?"
"Yes," Kyoka agreed.
The teacher got up and headed for the door. "Thank you for the valuable information. Get some rest. You need your energy up for the mission as soon as possible."
Wait...mission? Does that mean...
"Yes, you'll be joining us. Because after all the information you've told us, we can confirm this is the work of the villains. That was either not Kaminari or he was being controlled. And we need all the help we can get, since most of the pros are on the other side of the country and All Might is out of business so 2A will need to chip in at this point," Aizawa said, almost seemingly reading Kyoka's mind.
Kyoka just sat there, soaking all the information in. She bit her lips and nodded. "Yes, sir."
~~~~~~
Kyoka pulled on the last part of her hero costume and exited the changing room. Yaoyorozu, who was also part of the rescue team looked up and nodded.
"It's time, Kyoka-chan."
Kyoka returned the nod. She was afraid she'd start crying if she said anything. This wasn't the time to sit and weep! Time to search for Denki!
(Denki's POV)
"Heyo! Kaminari-kun~!" Toga yelled from across the bar. I sighed. What does she want now? Seriously...the league wanted me to join some kind of super important plan of theirs but I'm being treated like some kinda errand boy! Not that I want any part in their shitty plan...I didn't even want any of this in the first place! But seriously...they should get someone else to do their dirty work..if it's charging phones, I'm sure there was an electric user in that group of terrorists that attacked the USJ last year. Why not call him in? I wanna go home! I can't exactly leave either... they put some kind of torture device on...a device that I can't even manipulate! Can you believe that? How did they even come up with these things?
"What do you want?"
Toga put on her (annoying) cutesy act and giggled. "Be a dear an charge my phone, will ya? If you don't..I suppose I'll have to tell on you to Shiggy-kun~"
I snatched her phone and sucked on the charger. If the device wasn't bad enough...there's always blackmail, huh?
