《With You (A Kamijirou Fanfic)》Chapter 5

(Jirou's POV)
"Kiss him."
I just witnessed betrayal by my own best friend.
"W-what? No way!" I answered.
"It's either that or you play your guitar in full volume at 2 a.m." said Mina.
Great. It's either humiliation and a possible lost friendship or I can choose detention or even suspension. Aizawa does not like his beauty sleep disrupted. My future hero career could be on the line. Thanks a lot, Mina.
"I-I'll kiss him," I surrendered.
"Yess!" Tooru cheered.
"On the lips, okay, honey?" Mina called as I walked out.
"Yes, mom," I mocked.
Later, upon seeing Kaminari's door, I froze. A thousand questions raced across my mind at once. What am I even doing? Is it worth it? Is risking this friendship even worth it? I sighed, leaned my head against the wall by his door and closed my eyes in frustration.
(Kaminari's POV)
I heard a soft thud on the wall outside my room. What happened? I opened my door to see a purple haired girl leaning her forehead on the wall.
"Jirou? What are you doing?" I asked, worried. "Are you okay? Do you feel sick? Are you....drunk?"
She opened her eyes and looked at me. "No, I'm fine."
"You sure? You don't seem fine."
"Yeah, I'm fine. A little stressed."
I looked at the clock hanging on my bedroom wall. "It's kinda late, and aren't you supposed to be with the girls? Having that "girls only" thing?"
She looked at me. "You ask too many questions. And sorry."
"Sorry? For what? Hold on did you-" As I was asking her if she accidentally threw away my notes again, I was cut off. By a kiss. On the lips. It lasted no more than two seconds.
"For that."
She pulled away and ran off. What just happened? The girl I like went from depressed to kissing me.
The door next to mine opened to reveal Iida as I was trying to make sense of what happened.
"Hello, Kaminari-kun, what was all that noise- WHOA. What happened to you? Your face is all red!"
"O-oh? It is?"
(Jirou's POV)
I was back in Mina's room, in my sleeping bag which was zipped all the way up. It doesn't even matter if I suffocate. I just kissed my best friend. My first kiss. I mean, does he hate me now? He probably does.

"Gurl, did you do it or what?" Mina asked excitedly as she (rudely) zipped open my sleeping bag.
"Leave me alone, Mina," I retorted, trying to close my sleeping bag again. Unfortunately, Mina disintegrated the zip with her acid. Damn you, Mina! I shot dirty looks at the pink-skinned girl smiling innocently at me as Momo offered to make me a new sleeping bag.
"Judging by how her face resembles the colour of Sprite Cranberry, yes she did," Tooru stated. I turned to give her the stink eye.
"Girls, I think that's enough," said Momo. Thank you, Momo! "Let's call it a night, I need to wake up early to have breakfast with Shoto, anyway."
"Mm, 'kay," Mina said, disappointed.
(2 hours later)
I woke up feeling thirsty, it was 1:15, according to Mina's digital alarm clock. On the way downstairs, I accidentally collided with someone. I looked up to see the last person I wanted to see.
Bakugou.
Kaminari.
(Kaminari's POV)
I tossed and turned. I can't sleep, I've tried for two hours now. Might as well go downstairs for some water. Someone bumped into me as I made my way to the kitchen.
"Jirou?" I looked down at the cause of my insomnia. "Can't sleep either."
"I was thirsty," she replied bluntly, not looking at me.
"Can we talk...? Please?"
(A bit later)
I handed her a glass of water.
"So...what was that about? The kiss," I asked.
She buried her face as she broke down. "I'm sorry Kaminari! It was a dare, I understand if you don't want to be friends anymore. I'm weak."
"You're not weak, Jirou, you're one of the most strongest girls I know."
"One of?"
"Yeah, there's also Momo and Nejire. They're both recognized. Momo got into school from recommendations. Nejire was one of the Big Three and she graduated to become a great hero. You're neither of those but I think people are seriously missing out on the good stuff. The other day, what you did with Sato. That was amazing."
"Thanks, Kaminari."
"And about when you said I don't want us to be friends anymore...you're right."

Jirou looked hurt. It's now or never.
"I want to be more than friends," I said in a serious tone.
Her hurt look was exchanged for a look of disbelief and confusion. "What? Sorry, I don't think I heard that right."
I sighed. "Let me explain it in a more straightforward way. Jirou Kyoka, I like you. As in I have a crush on you."
She looked like she was about to say something then she closed her mouth again. For the first time ever, I, Kaminari Denki has rendered Jirou Kyoka speechless. Usually it's her that makes me speechless from all her roasting.
"I-I," Jirou hesitated then spoke up again. "I don't know."
This time, I was the confused one. "What do you mean by "I don't know"?" I asked carefully.
"I don't know what I feel about you, Kaminari. That kiss was a dare but I've never really thought about...becoming an 'us' thing."
"Can we at least stay best friends in the meantime while you think about it? I can't imagine a life without you, Jirou in that way or not, if you know what I mean."
"Sure, Kaminari."
"I prefer you'd call me Denki, Jirou." I gave her a small side smile.
"That's Kyoka to you," she said, playfully poking my forehead.
I love this girl.
"Wanna hang out for a bit?"
"Sure, Denki. I don't feel sleepy anyways."
"You brought your phone?"
She reached into her pajama shorts pocket and pulled out her phone. "You know me so well." She smirked. "So, Attack on Titan season 2, episode 4 it is?"
"Hell yeah!"
And two episodes later, I felt weight on my shoulder as the Colossus Titan and the Armoured Titan appeared on the screen. How did she fall asleep in the middle of all this violent stuff?
I guess I'm tired too, it's kinda late. I decided to rest my eyes for a while before I take her up to her room since there's no way I'm crashing a sleepover of sleeping girls. I'm not like Mineta...anymore.
I closed my eyes.
~~~~~~
"Don't wake them up."
"This is so cute!"
"Yeah, so cute that I could puke. And what the f*** are they sleepin' here for?"
"Shush, Ba- Okay! I'm sorry!"
"Both off you, hush."
"Guys, I think we woke him up."
"Oops."
"Whatever."
I opened my eyes to see Kirishima, Sero, Mina and Bakugou. I actually slept here in the common area with Jirou leaning against my shoulder.
"You've got some serious explaining to do, Dunce-face."
I looked up. Out of all of them, it was Bakugou who questioned me? Dating Uraraka sure made him more soft and sociable. I'm not gonna be the one to tell him though, I value my life.
"I'll take her to her room first, Bakubro."
~~~~~~
"Explain yourself, Kaminari," said Kirishima, with his huge shark grin and I did.
*After explaining...*
"Jirou needs help with realizing her feelings," Mina huffed. "Me and the girls will do that next time, for now we have something planned."
"Yup, Kirishima won six tickets to the new amusement park last week," said Sero. "You in?"
"Yeah, I'll just go brush my teeth and get dressed. Kyoka's coming too, right?"
"No way that girl's not coming." said Mina. "She and I have some things to talk about, namely her feelings. And you guys are on first name basis now? Nice progress!"
"That's manly and we're shoving you two into the haunted house," said Kirishima. We all knew what he meant by the expression on his face.
"Ya think?" Bakugou asked, skeptical. "Lat time we all went to a haunted house, it was Earphones that protected Dunce-face."
"Oh yeah, I forgot about that. Very unmanly, dude."
"Quit teasing! I'm gonna go get ready for later." I huffed and got up.
Sero tapped my shoulder. "Kaminari, want these?" Sero asked waving his phone, showing me a picture of me and Kyoka sleeping together from earlier.
"You took pictures?"
"Alien Queen's orders. Thought you might want 'em."
"Hell yeah, you don't even have to ask! Send them to me!"

The Cyclical Nature of Time
A girl’s life ends unexpectedly early, or so it would seem. Instead of eternal nothingness, she wakes up in an empty valley with no clue how she got there. Taking her predicament in stride, she sets out to do something about it. Unfortunately for her, the first couple of people she meets aren’t much help. They claim they haven’t heard of electricity and dress as if they were on a break from their job at a Viking-themed amusement park. MC is a somewhat normal girl. She's pragmatic and not very angsty. The story is tagged with anti-hero, but to be clear, she is not a villain. She does good if she can, she just isn't morally motivated to do so. The story starts out smelling of fantasy but will eventually shift towards sci-fi. It contains some supernatural elements and has a strong lead, but it is not your usual power trip. Expect a story that takes its time, but not to the point where entire chapters are spent on mindless chit-chat. I’m not into that. This is my first serious attempt at writing and I've learnt a lot writing this. Unfortunately, that shows. Chapter 1-10 is slow and rather pointless. Things get better, but it is not until chapter 25 or so that I began understanding how to structure chapters and to make them support the larger story. I publish about 3000 words a week (every sunday) but I write about 10000 words a week. Sticking to that pace, which is easy, the last chapter will be out by July.
8 74A Savage's Journey
Jason Walker, a psych major, has been transported to another world. Quite frankly he isn't prepared. No experience in fighting, no idea how to control mana, and no proper clothes. Only his wits, which are in short supply, and his luck may see him through the day. This is my first novel ever. First ever time writing so I'll definitely be listening to any constructive criticism you guys have to offer. I'll even pay attention to straight up criticism if I can see some merit in it. I hope you all enjoy.

8 118Cycles of Ruin
Civilizations rise and fall. Kith build them up and monsters, led by powerful dungeon keepers, bring them to ruin. For three thousand years the cycle has been maintained by the Guild of Chaos and its endless hordes of minions who—in absence of their long lost creators—have taken it upon themselves to keep the realms of the universe in balance. The Guild has grown efficient at this task, but some among its ranks have begun to ponder the utility of a universe that has been robbed of the very possibility of change. Basil von Doom is one such dungeon keeper working for the Guild, leading an army of loyal minions from one conquest to the next; burning civilizations and sifting through the ruins in search of forbidden knowledge that the races of kith were never meant to possess. But having spent more than half a century in pursuit of glory and fame—trying to live up to the legacy of his father—Basil has grown indifferent towards his work. Desperate for a worthy challenge, but bound by his duties as a dungeon keeper, he has turned his mind towards uncovering the ultimate fate of the previous master of his house and the secrets that were buried with him. Now the young Master of House Doom must balance his growing interest in pursuing the trail of his father with the responsibilities that come with running a dungeon in service to the Guild of Chaos. To remain in good standing with the Guild, Basil has even accepted the task of mentoring an apprentice dungeon keeper, a young succubus named Elnora. It is at the tail end of her apprenticeship that the story begins; with a civilization poised to fall—its greatest heroes gathering for one last assault on the heart of darkness—and Basil striking up a conversation with his apprentice that will set into motion the unraveling of the universe. ***This is a rewrite and continuation of my story that was first posted on RoyalRoad a few years ago.
