The sun was brutal that afternoon as Lily fed the small Pteranodon some fish. She gobbled them down quickly hopping around contently.
The triceratops was resting in mud.
"You two are the strangest dinosaurs I have ever seen." she laughed at the dysfunctional two. She sat down as the Pteranodon walked over to the triceratops and used her to get to her perch.
"I know I shouldn't, but I think I'll name you two." she said. She looked to the Pteranodon.
"I'm going to name you Hopper. Which seems fitting, don't you think?"
"And Toothless." she smiled.
Toothless let out a call rolling partially in the mud.
She heard her radio go off.
"Yes?" she responded.
"Lily," Claire's voice came through loud and clear. She held the radio away from her ear wide eyed.
"Yes Claire-"
"I have a request."
"I-"
"My nephews are coming to the park in a couple of days and I-"
"Claire?" Lily said cutting her off.
"Lily can you hear-"
"Claire, you're breaking in and out... I ..." she created static noise with her mouth. "...can...you..."
"Lily?"
"I...break..."
Lily waited a few moments but it seemed like Claire had given up. She smiled and looking to see Hopper and Toothless watching her.
"Don't judge me!"
Owen watched as the girls worked well together as they hunted down the pig in the enclosure. Just before Blue could close in on the pig, he held his hand up and called to them. Blue let out an irritated snort after being called off from her oh so close lunch. She glared up at him, but was quickly distracted by the dangling rat.
"Good." he grinned. "Nice job." he began tossing out the rats.

"I think we finally have them in sync." Barry said clapping him on the shoulder.
"It seems so, but then again this could just be a good day."
"A very good day."
"Claire called me earlier about something with her nephews." Lily told Jennifer as they were sitting at the cafe after work.
"What did you do?" Jennifer asked her.
"There was too much..." she created the static noise with her mouth before smiling. "Couldn't hear a thing."
"Yeah, thanks a lot!" Zara huffed plopping down at the table with them. Jennifer rolled her eyes at Zara's presence.
" What did I do?" Lily asked confused.
"Because you had too much "radio interference" I was asked by Claire to take care of her nephews during their stay."
"Why didn't you just say no?" Lily pointed out.
"Right, like I could tell my boss no, right to her face."
"Works for me." Jennifer shrugged.
"You're not directly answering to Claire Dearing."
"Relax Zara, what's the worse that could happen? You just have to escort the boys around. Bring them to the Egg Spinners for the day, they probably won't get off of it." Lily told her.
Zara crossed her arms in front of her chest.
"You'll live Zara." Jennifer added.
Lily snuck around the main building on her way to the hatchery to make sure she didn't run into Dr. Wu, she was convinced he didn't want her anywhere near Winston. She made it to the hatchery unnoticed walking into the hatchery but it was empty.
"Winston?" she called. But she was only greeted by silence. Suddenly, she heard Dr. Wu and Winston coming down the hall.
"Shit." she mumbled under her breath before dodging under one of the tables quickly.

"You have gone too far, Wu!" Winston snapped.
"You're overreacting Winston." Wu said in a calm voice.
"Overreacting? It ate it's sibling. They were roughly the same size. That's not...that's not normal. They were both being fed properly. It shouldn't have done that!"
"Keep it down."
"What good do you expect to come from this, Wu? Tell me, a few numbers and then just like the rest it'll be passe."
"I'm doing as I was told."
"You need to do what's right before it's too late." Winston said before walking back out and slamming the door causing Lily to flinch.
She heard Wu sigh before he walked out. She swallowed creeping out as the cost was clear. She headed to the lab to see Wu jotting down a few notes. She knocked.
Wu looked up and signaled her to come in.
"Hey Dr. Wu." she said.
"Hello Dr. Goodwin, what can I help you with?" he asked.
"I, uh, just passed Winston in the hall," she lied, "he seemed pretty upset, is everything okay?" she asked.
"Everything is fine," he smiled. "Winston is just in a grumpy mood, no worries."
In all the time she had spent with Winston, she had never seen the man grumpy.
The two adults arrived at the Bungalow around the same time sitting on the porch. Owen told her about the raptor's success in the paddock that afternoon.
Lily smiled happily at the news.
"How was your day?" he asked her.
"Well, I named the triceratops and the pteranodon." she told him.
"Now you're going to be attached." he sang teasingly. She grinned.
"What did you name them?"
"Hopper and Toothless."
"I don't want to hear anything about naming Blue, ever again." he said.
She chuckled but her face straightened.
"What else happened today?" Owen inquired.
"I overheard Dr. Wu and Winston arguing again."
"Again...about what?"
"I don't know but Winston was freaking out, it has to do with the dinosaurs, he said something ate it's sibling."
"Damn." Owen said his eyes widening slightly.
"Dr. Wu is being really sketch."
"Say no more." Owen said standing up and walking away.
"Where are you going?" she asked curiously.
"To go kick Wu's ass." he said. She laughed before jumping up and running after him hopping onto his back causing him to fall over.
Owen rolled onto his back as Lily sat on top of him smiling down at him.
"Don't go looking for trouble, Mr.Grady."
"What are you talking about, Goodwin? Trouble finds me." he said. She rolled her eyes before leaning down and kissing him lightly. He grazed his finger tips over her back before he wrapped his arms around her torso closing the gap between them.
Lily suddenly found herself lying back on the grass as Owen was now on top with a triumphant grin.
"You're beautiful, you know that?" he said to her. She blushed as he intertwined his fingers with hers pinning her down.
"You're smart." he kissed her forehead.
"You have beautiful eyes. A perfect smile." he locked her lips into another kiss.
"The cutest nose." he kissed it which tickled causing her to laugh.
"And the laugh that made me fall in love."

Clarent Saga: Chronicles
Based on my work on Saga of the Jewels, I've been hired by an indie game developer to write the novel for their 'novel + turn-based battles' game which is in Early Access on Steam. Of course, a 'novel + turn based battles' is a terrible idea for a game, which is why no other games like this exist, but hey, the developer is paying me. And if something's worth doing at all, it's worth doing as well as possible, so I am going to give this project my very best shot and try to make it as good as it can be. So if you read this, please give me feedback on the story to help me make it as good as it can be! Please note, for this story I have been given a pre-existent set of characters, character back-story sketches and a rough plot to work with. I also have to insert random battles into the narrative, have set characters appear in a certain order, and have the party fight fixed bosses in a certain order, all at fixed points! Please also note that this is a first draft. I will be editing and re-working this in the future and re-posting it. But I need helpful feedback, if anyone can give it. You can also find the game version of this on Steam by searching there for 'Clarent Saga: Chronicles'.
