Lily awoke to the sun shining in her face. She grumbled and tried to pull the blanket over her head that was twisted around her body. She struggled pulling but ended up falling off the edge. She sat up to see she had fallen asleep on the sofa. But it hit her quickly, that it wasn't the sofa in her and Jennifer's home. She glanced around to see she was in a humble setting of a living room. She scratched her head.
She heard a door open and saw Owen walk out of the bathroom only in a towel still slightly wet.
"Son of a -" she began under her breath.
"See something you like?" he smiled her way. She looked away quickly before pushing herself up. She felt slightly dizzy holding her head.
"Easy there." he said walking over going to hold her arm but she jumped back quickly as his nearly naked body was near her.
"I'm fine, no worries." she reassured him. "How-"
"Well, Miss Goodwin you may come from a strong line of Irishmen but you're still kind of a lightweight." he told her.
She felt her cheeks burn as she remembered some of the previous night.
"You're even funnier when you're drunk." he told her.
"I'm an absolute trip." she said.
He sat on the coffee table before her. "Does your head hurt?" he asked.
"No, I'm fine really...can you um...perhaps put some clothes on?" she asked him.
"Oh does this make you uncomfortable?" he asked leaning forward so that they were only a couple of centimeters apart. She swallowed before sitting back.
He chuckled. "I'll go get dress then."
"Cheeky monkey." she muttered under her breath trying to regulate her heart rate.

He finally came out fully dressed. "Better?"
"Much, thank you." she said standing up. "I should be heading out I have tours to give-"
"No you don't." he smiled.
"What?"
"Your tours are taken care of for the day. You are assigned to the Raptor Paddock today."
She raised a brow as she tried to hide the smirk that was forming. "Well, I still need to head home, I need to shower and get some clothes."
"Already taken care of." he said pointing to a bag on a chair.
"Did you go to my house?!" she asked.
"No, Jennifer brought it over for when you woke up. She was going crazy trying to figure out where you were all night."
She just stood in shock for a moment.
"Second door to your left." he said holding out the bag to her.
She took it from him watching him before leaving to the bathroom.
When she walked out of the shower feeling a lot more refreshed, Owen was sitting at his table eating.
"Burrito?" he asked handing her the filled rolled tortilla.
"Thank you." she said taking it and sitting across from him.
"Why do you want me to come to the raptor paddock?" she asked him.
He looked up with a mischievous smile. "I don't know what you're talking about, you were assigned." he said. "I'm just doing my job and taking you there."
Lily looked down at the raptors watching them observe Owen closely who dangled the rat before them in his right hand with the clicker in his left. The girls were in sync behind Blue who waited for Owen's signal.
A pig was being held in a cage squealing. Echo broke concentration and looked over.

"Echo!" Owen called. She snapped her head back up. "Eyes up here." he said. She screeched slightly before looking over to the pig again taking a step forward.
"Echo!"
She took another step, her claws scratching at the ground. "Echo!"
Suddenly, Echo was slammed to the ground. Lily was on her feet.
"No, it's okay." Owen said. "Everyone stay still." he ordered gruffly. Blue had one leg on top holding Echo down before snapping in her face with a few growls. Echo attempted to lift her head but Blue pinned her down more.
Workers were looking on in horror, Owen seemed focused but Lily was fascinated. Echo finally submitted to Blue allowing Blue to release her before stalking off calling to the other two. Charlie and Delta glanced back at their other pack member before taking off after Blue into the brush.
Owen sighed dropping his arms.
"Excuse me, coming through. Watch your head little lady." a man said coming through holding a barrel.
"Sorry." she said moving over. He stopped and turned to her with a glance.
"You must be Lily Goodwin." he said with a kind smile.
"Yeah, that's me..." she said.
"I'm Barry." he introduced himself. "I'm the other raptor trainer." he told her. "But you'll normally just see me bossing the other workers around here."
She chuckled. "That's a very important aspect of the job."
"I like to think so. " he said proudly. "I've heard a lot about you."
"You have?"
"Are you kidding? Can't get Grady to keep quiet."
Her eyes widened. "Really?"
Barry grinned. "Perhaps I said too much. Would you excuse me Ms. Goodwin, I have some rats that need to be placed in a freezer."
"Oh sure." she said.
She turned her head to see Owen walking over to her.
"You okay?" he asked.
"Of course, why wouldn't I be?" she asked.
"Eh, a lot of people freak out when Blue and Echo go at it."
"It's natural behaviour." she retorted. "Echo was challenging the alpha."
"Correction, I'm the alpha." he said. "Don't forget that." he winked.
"I doubt you would allow me to." she said smartly walking past him as Echo was walking about.
"Her jaw...is..."
"Blue did that when they were younger. They've been fighting to be top raptor for awhile. During one of their scuffles, Blue just ripped her across the face and permanently offset her jaw."
"That's a bad bitch." Lily said.
"Since that day Charlie and Delta listen to Blue...Echo does for the most part but there are times where she'll test her limits."
Echo shook her head with a chirp.
"Poor dear." she said. 'She looks so angry."
"You would be too, the guys around here call her Elvis because of her little sneer."
Lily giggled but quickly stopped when Echo glared over at her. "He said it." she said pointing to Owen.
"Well, I'm done for the day..." he began walking over to her.
"Uh huh..." She watched as he walked around her and stopped behind her.
"And you're done for the day..."
"Riiight..." She could feel the warmth of his chest pressed against her back lightly. His arms were resting on the railing on each side of her.
"How about that private tour?"
