Owen was heading to the raptor paddock after grabbing a quick lunch when he saw Lily on one of her tours. He looked at his watch before deciding that he had some time to spare. He walked over and stood in the back behind some parents. Smaller children were in the front as she stood in front of a hologram of a triceratops.
"Now while they look intimidating, these are very docile dinosaurs. They hardly go looking for trouble."
"Then why do they have those horns?"
"For defense. If anyone was to come pester these guys, they would use these horns normally locking them with whomever they were fighting and they would just wrestle until their opponent gave up."
"Or beat them!" a little boy chimed in.
"Well, not many dinosaurs would bother with these guys unless they were looking for a fight. These are the largest of the horned dinosaurs and with that title comes some respect. You wouldn't want to go challenge of herd of these guys. But you know they have to grow into these horns. When they hatch, their horns are nothing but nubs, but as they grow so do their horns. And this part here, is called the frill..."
The little ones stood in awe. She moved back allowing them to run their hands through the hologram.
Lily smiled as two little boys placed their fingers up on their heads to resemble horns and began to imitate part of her lecture.
"You are quite entertaining." She jumped as Owen appeared beside her.
"Thank you." she breathed composing herself. "What are you doing here?" she asked raising a breath.
"I came to learn."
She rolled her eyes. "Sorry, the tour is over sir." she smiled before walking off. He trotted up beside her.
"Can I get a private tour one day?" he asked waggling his brows holding open the door for her.
"That'll cost you extra." she said poking his stomach.
"She's not as big as the others...not even close and this wing, is....so much smaller compared to the other one." Lily frowned as she sat with the young Pterandon that she had first witness hatch when she arrived at the island.
"Stunted growth." Winston told her.
"It happens sometimes." Dr. Wu said. "Some times, they don't develop properly when the embryo is inserted into the egg."
"What will happen with it? " she asked looking to Winston and Dr. Wu. Winston gave her a look that made her wish she didn't ask.

"You're going to kill it aren't you?" she asked.
"We can't release it into the Aviary," Dr. Wu said, "it would never survive. It's so much smaller than the others and it wouldn't be able to fly. The others would see it's weakness and probably kill it."
"But it's just a baby." she said softly.
"We can't let our feelings get in the way.' Dr. Wu said before leaving.
Lily grumbled.
"Don't listen to Wu," Winston said, " he has a stick up his ass most days."
"But he's right, you guys are going to put him down."
"It's out of my hands, Lily. I wish we had a section of the island where our less fortunate ones could go, but this is just the humane thing to do."
She flinched slightly as the Pteranodon bit down on her finger but she only looked down to the young dinosaur sadly.
Lily sat with Jennifer and Zara while they were on break.
"I don't think it's fair at all." Lily told them.
"Are we still going on about this?" Zara asked with an eye roll examining her nail bed. Jennifer glared at her.
"No one is keeping you here Zara."
Zara shot her a glare before sighing. "You've been whining about it, but it's not going to change anything. "
"Zara!"
"No," Lily said holding her roommate back. " She's right."
"I am?"
"She is?"
Lily nodded. "Whining isn't going to change anything. Excuse me, ladies." she said standing up and leaving the table.
"Where are you going?!" Jennifer called after her but Lily disappeared.
Lily stood in front of the large oak door before knocking. She waited before the door opened and she saw Claire, instead of Simon.
"Dr. Goodwin, what brings you here?"
"I came to speak with Mr. Masrani." she said.
"He's busy right now."
"I can wait." she said planting her feet firmly. Claire bit the inside of her cheek looking at her.
"Who is it?" Simon's voice called out.
"It's Goodwin."
"Let her in."
Claire opened up the door.
"Thanks, Claire!" Lily said cheerfully.
Simon hung up the phone and turned to her.
"Ah, Miss Goodwin what can I help you with?"
Owen knocked on the door and waited patiently. Jennifer opened the door partially.
"Yes?"
"Is Lily around?"

Jennifer smirked. "No, she's not. Why?"
"I was just looking for her to hang out."
"Sure, that's it."
"Do you know where she is?" he said ignoring Jennifer's grin.
She shrugged. "She took off somewhere."
"She does that a lot doesn't she?"
"More than you know."
"I had the faintest ringing in my ear. You two must be talking about me." Lily said coming into the yard before the home.
"There you are. Where the hell did you run off to earlier?"
"I went to speak with Mr. Masrani." she said skipping up the stairs.
"And?"
"He said he would see what he could do."
"So nothing."
"Not necessarily. I think he'll come up with something." she said. The two women looked to see Owen standing there blankly.
"I have no friggin' clue what we're talking about here."
Lily chuckled. "What are you doing here?"
"I was just taking about to grab some dinner....care to join me?"
"Uh..."
"She sure would." Jennifer said pushing her forward. "Have fun."
"So what's all this talk about you and Masrani?"
"Well, I wanted to talk to him about helping out the dinosaurs that aren't able to be released into the attractions or the herds."
He raised a brow curiously.
"You know how many dinosaurs they put down if they don't meet standards?"
"No. How many?"
"Too many." she said. "For no fault of their own besides man meddling around."
"What do you want to do with them?"
She shrugged. "I dunno, I certainly don't want to see them put down though. Sure, they are a bit off but they are still living animals. They have the same drive and will to live."
The two adults ended up on Main street. The street was busy with the adult tourists drinking and having a good time.
"A drink sounds pretty good right now." he admitted.
"A drink is welcomed."
While Margaritaville wasn't known well in her book for burgers, they had amazing drinks. The two sat at the bar munching on some nacho appetizer with their drinks.
"Hey Goodwin." she turned her head to see Todd.
"Hullo Todd." she smiled. "What brings you here?"
"Picking up some dinner, I just finished working on a paddock set up."
"Sounds exciting."
"Very." Todd responded sarcastically before he looked past her shoulder to Owen. Lily turned to see the men sizing each other up.
"Todd this is Owen Grady, he's the raptor trainer. Owen this is Todd York, he's a mechanical engineer." she introduced them.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Grady."
"Same here." Owen said.
"Wow, raptors huh? Sounds pretty scary."
"They are." Owen said in a low voice.
Todd nodded. "Well, I have to head home. I'm beat." he said grabbing his order off the counter. "See you guys around."
"Bye Todd!" Lily said with a wave. She turned to see Owen watching him until he was out of sight. She giggled as she looked down to her drink stirring it.
"What are you giggling about?"
"Hmm..what? Oh nothing."
"Tell me." he said poking her side.
"Nope." she said finishing her drink and leaving the bar. Owen quickly got up and followed her.
Lily walked down the street humming to the song playing as she swayed.
"I think maybe you've had too much to drink." Owen said.
"Nonsense. I can hold my own, Mr. Grady. I come from a strong line of Irishmen on my father's side." She nearly stumbled, he grabbed her steadying her on her feet.
"I can see that."
"Unfortunately, I also come a long line of weak ankles on my mother's side."
Owen smirked as she helped her along, she continued to hum. "You know I can play this song?" she said.
"Oh really? On what instrument?"
"The air-.." she hiccuped. "...guitar."
He tried hard to suppress his laughter.
"Haha, I see you trying to hide that smile." she laughed.
They walked on but as it grew later, he knew there was no way they would be able to walk back to her home in the dark. He decided to head back to the Bungalow to get his car.
The Bungalow came into view while Lily spoke about the anatomy of a suchomimus.
"The distinct sail on it's back is rather impressive..."
He helped her inside and sat her down on the sofa.
"Why don't you rest here while I go look for my keys?"
She saluted him before resting back. Owen searched all over for his keys before he wandered outside to the car and found them tucked in the visor.
He walked back in to get Lily but she was sound asleep curled up on the sofa.He grabbed a blanket and walked over.
"I have never met someone like you, Lily Goodwin."

Triquetra: A Multi-Class Isekai or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Accept the End of the Multiverse
Triquetra: An Multi-Class Isekei Adventure I know, I know, you have heard it all before. Yes I was hit by a truck. Yes I ended up in a Fantastical World suspiciously similar to one of my favorite RPG’s. Yes I had access to cheats no one else possessed. Yes it was a world of classes and levels and magic powers. Finally, yes I was an overweight middle-aged loser failing to live up to my potential. Given my eclectic reading habits I should have been better prepared. Unfortunately I was not. Sure I could multi-class with reduced penalties, but my starting class was Scholar! No combat abilities and very limited spellcasting. My HUD interface costs mana to use, and my universal translation seemed to be outsourced to Giggle Translate. I’m supposed to be an OP MC! Not a slice-o- life struggling to survive in the wilderness. Not to mention the Arch-Magus who summoned me, mistimed everything, I arrived 300 years too late, after the fall of the Empire I was supposed to save. The surviving remnants have devolved into Murder Hobos. What’s worse is that the Great Devourer, Ancient Calamity, and Spawn from the Void Beyond Time, Space, and Sanity is now aware of a new world to plunder, a world called Dirt! (Told you this translator sucks) Warning Extra Crunchy Authorial Vebosity! Lots of infodump in the early chapters, but I learn my lesson and it does get better, eventually. I do not own the Cover image, found it on a free image site.
