"Get up!" Jennifer hollered banging on Lily's door the next morning.
"Go away." Lily mumbled from under her duvet.
"Don't make me come in there, Goodwin."
"You can try." Lily laughed. Jennifer attempted to open the door but found it locked.
"Oh you bi-" Lily snuggled into her pillow.
"Come on Goodwin, I'm hungry." Jennifer whined. Lily sighed as her stomach growled betraying her.
"Fine!" she huffed. "I'm up, I'm up."
The two women walked along main street dodging tourists left and right.
"So what do you want to eat?" Jennifer asked.
"Pizza." Lily said wandering over to the pizzeria.
"It's nine in the morning."
"So?" Lily asked glancing back at her.
"We're eating breakfast."
"Pizza is an anytime meal, Jennifer."
Jennifer crossed her eyes in frustration as she followed her.
As they were eating, Lily looked up and saw Lowery passing through.
"There's your lover." she said.
"What? " Jennifer turned her head and saw Lowery before blushing like mad and hiding her face.
"Why don't you invite him over?" Lily asked.
"Because he's probably busy with-"
"Lowery!" Lily shouted. Jennifer dodged forward and shoved a piece of pizza into Lily's mouth.
"Shut up."
"Hiiiscuminraatova." Lily said with her mouth full.
"What?"
Lily swallowed. "I said he's coming right over."
Jennifer saw Lowery make his way over with a small wave.
"I hate you." she mouthed to Lily.
"Hey ladies," Lowery said.
"Hello." they said in unison.
"Pizza for breakfast?" he said eyeing the food.
"Breakfast of champions." Lily answered.
"Her idea." Jennifer told him.
"Right, hey Jennifer, I think I got the kink worked out at the Mosasaurus display with the monitors glitching. I can show you..."
"Oh sure. When?"
"Well, I have like twenty five minutes before I have to head into the control room for the day, any chance you can go now?"
"Yeah, of course." She arose and looked to Lily.
"Don't worry about me...I can finish the pizza by myself."
Jennifer turned to Lowery. "Shall we?"
They began walking away as Lily grinned to herself. Jennifer turned around only to see Lily mock kissing her hand directed at her. Lowery was busy talking about the display monitors as she quickly flipped Lily off.
"What are you doing?"
Lily dropped her hand and looked to see Owen standing there watching her.
"Spending quality time with myself." Lily answered.
"Is that what you women call it nowadays?"
"Argh, sick!" she said scrunching up her face as he smiled cheekily.
He reached over quickly and grabbed a slice of pizza.

"Hey!"
"What, were you planning on eating six slices by yourself."
"Don't underestimate me Mr. Grady."
"A woman who actually eats." he laughed sitting back.
"I have to make up for lost time, my mother is no cook and yet insisted on cooking at home." She shuddered.
Owen chuckled before looking to her employee badge on the table. It had her photo on the front along with her access barcode.
"Nice picture. You look like it's picture day in high school."
She glared at him. "Let's see yours then."
He pulled it out of his pocket and placed it before her.
"You're judging mine, have you seen yours?" she asked.
"What's wrong with mine?"
"You're totally flexing in yours!" she laughed.
"Am not. The camera just shows off my definition."
"What definition?" she teased.
He opened his mouth with a slightly hurt but playful look. He sat up straight and puffed up his chest.
"Just so you know, these guns were banned in the states, that's why I'm here." he said showing off his arms.
She snorted in her drink.
"Suns out, guns out."
She shook her head as Owen grinned at her.
The two sat and ate together when she glanced down at her watch.
"Bollocks!" She jumped up quickly.
"What?"
"I have a tour and I'm late." she grabbed her badge. "See you later." she took off running.
Lily seemed to be getting the hang off her tours as she directed the groups around, of course, it didn't go exactly perfect as she stepped in dinosaur droppings near the end causing the people to snicker.
"That's it, laugh it up." she mumbled leaving them back in the main part of the park and grabbing some napkins to clean the rest.
She finished up and decided to see Winston for the rest of the afternoon. As she walked into the main building, she saw a baby pachycephalosaurus being dragged in control poles by two workers. The baby wailed out struggling and pulling as much as it could.
"Hey!" she said running forward. The two workers looked up.
"What are you doing?" she asked as the baby thrashed.
Winston walked out of the hatchery to the scene.
"We're bringing this one to the infirmary."
"Why? It looks perfectly fine." Lily said.
"This animal as been deemed code orange." one man told her.
"What does that mean?"
"Dangerous to humans."
"What did it do?" she questioned further.
"During feeding, it bit one child and then proceeded to try and bite others. It's gone crazy, we reckon."
"Oh you reckon?" Lily said walking forward. "What possessed you putting this dinosaur in a petting pen to begin with?"

"It's an herbivore."
"You're kidding right?"
The two workers stood there.
"Just because it doesn't eat meat doesn't mean it can't be aggressive. These are animals. They have natural instinct. Being surrounded by children and food, is an awful combo, especially for a baby that's still learning. You shouldn't have children feeding them, they're bound to get bit! The dinosaurs don't know any better."
"What is going on out here?" Simon Masrani stepped out of an office.
"Are you going to honestly allow them to put down a baby for attempting defend itself after being overwhelmed?
Simon looked to the workers and then to the woman who stood there with her arms crossed. Winston gave him a look.
"What has the young one done?"
"What any animal would do after having children hand feeding them and then sticking their fingers back in the pen. It bit one. You can't blame her!" Lily said.
Simon turned to the workers. " The euthanasia is off."
The men grumbled before dragging the baby away down the hall as it cried.
Lily turned to Simon. "How many others have you put down so carelessly?" she asked.
"Ms. Goodwin, I can assure you, our protocols are for the safety of the people."
"Then your protocol should be for people to keep their bloody hands to themselves."
"Our Gentle Giants is one of our main attractions."
He saw her frown. He rubbed his forehead.
"If it concerns you this much-"
"It does." she said.
"Right, you and I will sit down soon and discuss the park's protocol."
"You mean that?"
"Yes."
"Thank you."
Simon only nodded before stepping back into the office. Winston started a slow clap.
"Quite the show you put on there kiddo. Think those guys nearly pissed themselves."
"Do they really kill them because of something like that?"
Winston nodded with a frown as they walked into the hatchery.
"Why can't they just release them into the valley along with the others?"
"The rules are all messed up around here. The dinosaurs are made for the attractions. When the herbivore babies are small enough they are entered into the Gentle Giants, when they grow too big they go into the valley. Any that show any sign of aggression, are dealt with."
"Those poor babies."
"What are you doing?" Jennifer asked as she arrived home to see Lily standing on top of her car holding her cellphone in the air.
"Trying to get some cell service." Lily called to her. She leaped up grabbing onto the roof the house and pulled herself up.
"Be careful up there! We work in a park full of dangerous dinosaurs, I don't know how I would explain to your parents that your death resulted in falling off the roof."
Lily didn't respond as the phone began to ring. "Finally."
Jennifer shook her head before walking inside.
The phone rang three times before she was greeted by her father's groggy voice. "Ello?"
"Dad!" she said.
"L-lily?"
"Yeah!"
"You alright deary?" he asked concerned.
"I'm fine." she said confused. "Why?"
"It's one o' clock in the morning, deary."
"Oh!" she clapped her hand to her forehead. "Sorry, the time difference totally slipped my mind."
Harold chuckled. "It's alright deary. It's good to hear from you."
"It's good to hear you!" she said. "I miss you."
"I miss you too."
"I'm sorry I wasn't able to call earlier, I was just able to find some service. Surprisingly enough on top of the roof of my home."
"No landlines?"
"I still can't figure out how to dial off the island." she said. "Anyways, tell me how are you? How's Mum?"
Owen showed up to Lily and Jennifer's home after leaving the Raptor Paddock to see Lily sitting on top of the roof dangling her feet over the edge.
"Goodwin, what are you doing up there?"
She didn't respond, she didn't even look at him.
"Goodwin?" After a few moments he sighed before jumping onto the stair railing and pulling himself onto the roof.
"Jesus, how did you manage to get up here?" he asked slightly winded.
She shrugged.
"Hey," he furrowed his brow walking over and sitting next to her, "what's wrong with you? I hardly ever see you without some sort of smile on your face."
"I got to finally speak with my dad."
"I thought you wanted to?"
"Oh I did. I was happy to hear his voice...just haven't fully come to terms with the news I received."
"Tell me about it."
She looked at him.
"Yes, I'm being nosy." he said grabbing her hand and making her poke his nose. "Now spill."
She gave a light chuckle before letting out a sigh. "My mum left my dad...for the man who owns the pub down the street from us."
"I'm so sorry."
"No..don't be." she said. "I'm actually sorta relieved to be honest."
"Relieved?"
"My mum, I love her, but she was such a bitch to him. So mean, always so critical, they were always fighting...it's over now."
"So you're sad because...."
"My dad, I think he stuck out this long because he never wanted our family to crumble. He's a very family oriented man. I just want him to be okay."
"I think he will be. He has you and that counts for a lot. Trust me."
