《Her and I (Kyouka Jirou x Fem Reader)》Chapter Thirteen

"Alright, there's only really one thing on the schedule for today's homeroom. I need you to pick groups." Mr. Aizawa spoke as he tossed out a hat. Sero just barely caught the hat and squinted his eyes at it,
"Is this Mr. Snipes-"
"Shut up, he let me borrow it." Mr. Aizawa interrupted, to which Sero raised his eyebrows, unconvinced. Mina's hand shot up excitedly from the other side of the classroom, nearly smacking (y/n) in the face,
"Groups for what?" She asked. Mr. Aizawa sighed,
"I'm getting there, jeez. Sero, pass the hat around and let everyone pick a slip of paper out while I explain." Sero nodded and took out a slip of paper to stuff in his pocket before getting up and starting down the row, "So, as second years, you already know enough about your powers and are well on your way to improving your strength as heroes. However, because of everything that happened last year, you all ended up spending more time saving yourselves than others. And because of this, I do not believe you are where you should be on the path to becoming selfless heroes. Honestly, most of you are pretty self absorbed and egotistical."
I buried my head in my arms to keep from laughing out loud at Mr. Aizawa's last statement, because my god it was too true. My efforts didn't last however, because I couldn't help but raise my head to glance at Bakugo, only to notice that everyone else was looking at him. His glower was just too priceless that I couldn't help but laugh. I opened my mouth to poke a little fun at him but Mr. Aizawa cut me off.
"For the record, no I am not only referring to Bakugo here. A lot of you have this problem. And Jirou, you aren't exempt, so I'd suggest you stop laughing. Now, as I was saying, to help get you all where I want you to be, I've decided that this year class 2A will be doing community service."
"Huh?" Mr. Aizawa cut off the groans of the class,
"And Principal Nezu thought this was such a good idea that he proposed we do it every Friday," This only elicited more groans from the class, "Some of the things we've already planned include helping in a soup kitchen, with construction, volunteering with a hospital, at a daycare, and a senior center, and cleaning up a park. Oh, and I should mention, every other Friday you will be doing this without any use of your quirks, understand?"
"Alright!" Uraraka pumped her fist in the air.
"Yeah, this is so manly!" Kirishima joined in.
"Well I'm glad some of you are so enthusiastic about it. Now, you'll be split into four groups of four, and one group of five, to work with on your community service activities. The pieces of paper you're drawing from the hat determine which group you're in, so, is everyone done drawing?"
The class gave a collective nod of affirmation as soon as Bakugo drew the last slip and Sero returned to his seat.
"Good, group A raise your hands." Momo, Kouda, Todoroki, and Kaminari raised their hands.

"Group B raise your hands." Iida, Tsu, Hagakure, and Mineta's hands shot up.
"Group C." Tokoyami, Sero, Ojiro, and Shoji.
"Group D." Mina, Aoyama, Midoriya, and Bakugo raised their hands. No way is that group going to cause any trouble, I thought to myself sarcastically.
"And group E." I unfolded my piece of paper, checking to make sure it said E, and raised my hand. Then I looked around to see who else would be in my group for this torture. Uraraka, Kirishima, Satou, and (y/n). I let out a sigh of relief, as I'd been secretly hoping that she'd be in my group. I noticed that she smiled a little too when she saw my hand up.
The rest of the group wasn't really that bad either, in fact, I'd say we got pretty lucky. Kirishima and Uraraka were cool, and as a plus they'd probably take care of most of the work. And as had been discovered last night, Satou could make a mean muffin. He was also pretty chill otherwise, which I admired. Not to mention strong enough to lift the heavy things.
Aizawa concluded things and went back to his sleeping bag for the remainder of class and I looked back over to (y/n). Uraraka had come up to her desk and was chatting excitedly with her.
Having Uraraka in the group probably means that (y/n) won't spend as much time with me though.. Not that that matters I guess, at least she seems to be able to get (y/n) to smile sincerely as well. Not like her smile matters that much either...
I chuckled nervously at my inability to convince even myself of the latter, and then made my way over to Kaminari's desk, as I didn't want to interrupt (y/n) and Uraraka's conversation. Well I guess I kind of did, but I figured I shouldn't.
After homeroom with Shota me and the rest of 2A moved from core class to core class. Now we were headed to the food hall for lunch, after which was hero studies, which everyone seemed to have gotten a second wind in preparation for.
As we came up upon the cafeteria it became very apparent that the lunch line was incredibly long, as it stretched all the way outside. I sighed, I was hungry, but it's not like I'd never had to tough it out hunger-wise before. As I made my way inside to sit down Jirou called out to me,
"You're not going to get any food?"
"The line's too long, I'm not sure I have the energy to stand for that long anymore." I responded.
"I don't know, (y/n), I think it's pretty important that you get something to eat before your first day of hero studies. The training can be kind of grueling." Kirishima interjected. Jirou nodded,
"He's right, you go sit down and I'll bring you some food from the lunch line."
"You don't have to-"
"I'll be standing in it anyway, I might as well." She interrupted.
"Alright, I really appreciate it." I thanked her and walked up ahead through the entrance of the hall.

It looked as though other classes might've gotten out earlier than us, because the tables were already pretty full and I had trouble finding an empty one. Eventually I spotted Bakugo sitting at an otherwise empty table on the other side of the cafeteria. I hadn't really gotten a chance to get to know him yet like I had my other new classmates, and everyone seemed to be constantly warning me to stay clear of him, but I still felt like I should at least introduce myself directly. So, I made my way over and sat down beside him.
Immediately he flinched away, "What do you think you're doing?"
"Oh, sorry." I moved a seat down, thinking he might not be as comfortable with closeness as the rest of the class. Like me.
He continued to glower for a few moments before looking down to his food.
"How'd you get your food so quickly?" I asked politely. He grumbled an answer, but when I looked at him with a confused expression he spoke more clearly.
"They fear me." He spoke with a slight grin. They? Does he mean everyone in the line? His cocky smirk quickly turned back into a scowl,
"You're the newbie, right? What's with the weird horn?"
"Hm?" I touched my fingertips to my forehead, "Oh, it's a part of my quirk, I guess. It doesn't really do much anymore though, especially lately."
He grumbled in response and turned back to his food. I figured at this point that conversation might not be such a good idea anymore, and just went to fiddling with my fingers in wait of Jirou.
"Perfect! Another weirdo to round out class 2A!!"
"Huh?" I looked up, only to flinch back violently at the maniacal face so close to my own. It laughed and moved back slightly.
"And you're actually sitting with this jerk? How wonderfully pitiful!" The boy had blue eyes and blonde hair swept to one side, an ear to ear grin painted across his face. He was standing across from my seat, looking down at me with his hands in the air. Bakugo growled lightly at him, but his attention didn't shift from his food.
"Bakugo? I don't think he's a jerk." I responded warily, made a little nervous by this erratic energy radiating from the boy.
"Wow, you are stupi-!" He was cut off by being forcefully shoved off his feet. He fell to the ground with a big 'thud!' and Jirou sat down nonchalantly across from me and set down two trays.
"Here's your food."
"T-thanks." I responded. She then began to eat as if nothing had happened, causing Bakugo to laugh to himself quietly.
"Why you little weird ears punk-" The boy on the floor quickly shot back up to his feet and looked as if he was about to retaliate when he was dragged off by an angry looking red head.
"You okay, (y/n)?" Jirou asked after the boy was out of sight. I nodded and she responded with a 'good' before turning to Bakugo, who had shuffled down a few more seats as more of our classmates began to arrive, "You terrorize her enough?" She asked. Bakugo let out a 'tsk'ing sound.
"What are you, her bodyguard?"
Jirou rolled her eyes.
"I don't know about bodyguard, more like girlfriend." Mina joked as she took a seat next to me, causing me to nearly choke on my food and Jirou- who'd leaned over to steal some of Kaminari's food- to lose her balance and fall abruptly to the floor.
"Oww."
"Ah! Are you okay?" I asked, leaning over the table to help her up. She nodded and took my hand as she rubbed her back with a pained frown.
"Pfft. Maybe girlfriend is a more fitting title, they're even holding hands." Sero joked as he appeared at the end of the table.
"And you'll never guess where me and Uraraka saw (y/n) this morni-"
"Okay, Mina, I think we can stop there." Jirou interrupted nervously as she got back into her seat. Mina only laughed and popped a bite of her food into her mouth.
I knew they were just joking, but if that was the case then why did I suddenly feel so flustered? Titles like 'girlfriend' and 'boyfriend' and 'partner' and whatnot had never meant anything to me in the past- in fact I'd only ever really heard them used when Dabi teased Shigaraki about his lack of one, or when Toga made empty threats of stabbing in hopes to convince me to be hers- so why did it make my heart speed up like this now?
"Why don't we talk about how (y/n) actually met Bakugo and then unironically told someone that she didn't think he was a jerk." Jirou said, changing the subject.
"What?! Are you okay?" Kaminari exclaimed, rushing over to place the back of his hand against my forehead.
"I'm fine?" I replied in a question-like tone, leaning slightly away from Kaminari's hand. It was too warm. It freaked me out. My hands are always cold.
"Yeah, I don't know about that honey." Mina said, glancing at a very angry Bakugo who looked as if he was trying very hard not to hit someone.
Things continued on that way for the rest of lunch, the conversation ultimately ending in Bakugo yelling at everyone and launching his utensils at Kaminari, whom I'd learned he'd affectionately named, or at least exclusively called, 'dunce face'.
Eventually the bell rang, signaling for us to clean up our lunches and to the next class. Hero studies. Before I could leave the cafeteria Midoriya came up to me.
"(y/n)! Are you ready for hero studies, I'm excited to learn about your fighting style and your quirk!" He smiled.
"Um, yeah I hope I'm ready." I responded meekly. He didn't seem to quite pick up on the nervousness of my voice, as he then exclaimed excitedly,
"Cool! Do you want to walk with me there?" Jirou appeared by my side, "Or, erm, do you and Jirou want to walk with me there?" He corrected. I nodded.
"Sure thing, broccoli boy." Jirou responded.

First Iteration
What is a soul ? Is it your true self ? Would you be the same if your soul kept traveling from life to life but your memories faded for each new life you had ? Your education would be different each time, your growing environment would be different, your personality might change. So what is the purpose of the soul ? Mortals never got an answer for this question. Finding an exact definition didn’t matter for them, what they knew was that a soul allowed reincarnation. Even if they lost some memories, getting glimpses of their past lives was more than enough. Getting the possibility of a new life, a better life was what they thrived for. This became an even greater truth as progenitors, the first of their cycle, became scarce. As they represent a new cycle, they embody new opportunities: some progenitors have made kingdoms, others have been their doom. So when four of them appeared at the same place, at the same time, how can it not be perceived as a sign ? A sign that things were about to change…

8 174A Ten Pound Bag
A serial saga with short chapters published each and every morning to read over your coffee or tea. This is a "versus life" story with no great evil to face just life in a hard place during a hard time. Our hero and his companions get catapulted back in time and must find a way to not only survive but prosper. This story is definitely "R" rated maybe even NC-17 but don't expect explosions, blood and orgasms at every page turn. Bad words and uncomfortable topics are addressed in this story, this is not for every reader. This is a technical story and develops slowly at first, full technical details, maps and research are available over on Patreon. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I am. -Emmeran
