《Disappearance》Chapter 16

Right now we are sitting in the courthouse with our lawyer trying to see if there is anything we could do to get a DNA test done on the little girl.
"Your honor we are here today to request that the police be sent to Dr. Louis's home immediately and the child be taken into custody until we get the test done and the results back". Our lawyer Grant said and I didn't even know they could do that so I was shocked but I didn't protest.
"And what information do you have that leads me to believe that this child could possibly be theirs, what you just want me to send officers to a well respected Drs home and arrest him". The judge said and I tilted my head to the side.
"That's exactly what he's saying". I said mugging him and Jahreem squeezes my hand softly causing me to look over at him and he shook his head no.
"Speak out of term again and I will dismiss the whole case". He said and I opened my mouth to say something else but then I thought about Haisley so I just sat back.
"So are you going to grant us that". Grant asked and the judge looked at him.
"I'll grant the DNA test but the child will stay with its parents and the test will be scheduled for tomorrow ". He said before getting his papers and standing up walking away.
"Fucking dickhead". I said as I stood up causing Grant and Jahreem to laugh.
"I'm going to keep trying to get him to agree with getting the child taken until we figure out this whole ordeal". Grant said picking up all the papers and putting them in his briefcase.
"Okay thank you and please update us if anything changes". I said shaking his hand and he nods.

Looking over at Jahreem I noticed that he hasn't said a word now that I think about it he hasn't really said much since we had the meeting with our PI.
"You ready to go". He asked and I nod following behind him.
Getting in the car I start it up and pull off.
"Why you been so quiet". I ask looking over at him then back at the road.
"I can't decide if I want to kill him and go to jail for life or let the police handle it and be with my daughter for the rest of her life". He said staring at the road.
"I think option two sounds a lot better". I said nodding.
"Yeah but the devil is dancing on option one and he looking real tempting". He said with a straight face.
"At least we get to do the test as soon as possible". I said trying to lighten the mood.
"She not gone want to be with us cause she don't know us". He said with a sigh dropping his head.
"I don't know how true this is but kids have connections with their parents". I said grabbing his hand with my free hand.
"I haven't really had time to process all this information and shit just hitting me left and right like if she is ours and we do get her I expect her to automatically come to me but I know that shit not gone happen". He said shaking his head.
"I mean you never know it could". I said parking the car and getting out.
Walking into the apartment building I unlock the door and walk in first.
"How about I make your favorite". I ask with a smile causing him to smile a little.
"I would really appreciate it baby". He said walking to the living room.

Going into the kitchen I get all the things I need to make his food and get started.
Picking up the plates I carry them to the living room and hand him his before sitting mines on the table and going to get us something to drink.
Taking a seat beside him we start eating while watching tv.
After we got done I took the plates to the kitchen placing them in the dishwasher before walking back to the living room.
When I got back Jahreem wasn't in there.
"BABY". I call out walking to the back.
"I'm in here". He said as I passed Haisley's room.
"When did you get that". I ask as he sat in the rocking chair holding a teddy bear.
"I bought it the other day you know if she's ours then she can play with it". He said looking down at it.
Walking over I take a seat by his legs and lay my head on his lap.
"She's going to love it". I said closing my eyes as he started running his fingers through my hair.
"I hope so". He mumbled but I still heard him.
She'll love him...

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? Flesh Forger
Born a bit too late to explore the world, yet far too early to explore space, Graham Lattem is your average 61 year old man - if a little wanderlust filled. That being said, he has a happy home, loving wife, children who check up on him, and a decent retirement fund to live out his golden years modestly. Then it happens. [System Initialization Commencing…] A trick of the light, surely. [Planetary Merger Protocol 331 Enabled] Rumbling can be heard in the distance. Shouts. Cries of anguish. A horrible, ear numbing crashing sound. An earthquake. A hole opens in the middle of his home, and our protagonist falls in as a swirling vortex consumes him. Mountains as far as the eye can see greet Graham as he opens his eyes. Well, and more glowing words: [Welcome To The Macrocosm] [Good Luck] Far away from his family in a world hell-bent on his demise, how will this old, arthritis ridden man survive? Did I mention he has cancer? ===================================================================== Aiming for at least 1 chapter every other day, though there is a very big chance it will more oftentimes than not be more than that! This is my first ever story. One that I’ve been wanting to write for awhile. The system is most definitely inspired by Randidly Ghosthound and The New World, but I promise the story is different! Please point out any mistakes, as I’d love to improve! Also the warnings are just to let me experiment.

Harmless Sweetie (Rewritten)
*UPDATES EVERY MONDAY AND FRIDAY, SOMETIMES MORE IF I DON'T HAVE SCHOOLWORK. **This is tagged as comedy but I have a really stupid and peculiar sense of humor so yeah. "That's an eldritch horror." "No it's not, it's a frog." "Why does it have ten eyes and eight rows of teeth, not just that but why does it just perpetually scream with the voices of the ones whose mind it has eaten." "I'm just not that good at anatomy." *** Clailip Diancia, the tiny boy who dances along the threads of fate woven by a wicked witch. Not knowing of the plans of the witch that once scorched the lands, and unknowing of the abyss that beckons him forth. This harmless sweetie watches the stories of those around him. Ever unconscious of the turning loom of fate, always oblivious of the stories, legends, and tapestries of heroes that revolve around him as he goes, as he dances, and as he prances, leaving myths and rumours wherever he might set foot in. But as he is unaware of those whose fates have intertwined with his, he is also blind to the soul-piercing stares of the Abyss, ever calling to him.
