《Tippy's Notebook》Wattpad Goals for 2019, results

As this year is coming to an end, I thought it was about time to face the list I made and see which goals I actually achieved and which ones I completely flopped on.

I'll also be going through each goal and kind of just reflecting on them. You do not have to read this whole thing, it's really just a way of looking back on the year for me x

----------------------------

1 - Rogue ✔

I started Rogue on 01/08/2018 and finished on 07/07/2019 so it took just under a year to write.

Rogue was a very different book for me because it was the first book in which I got to explore the Calderon/Heil family all grown up. It was really fun to introduce the characters' personalities more, this is where everyone fell in love with Hagen so I'm really happy with this book haha.

Rogue also was great for my writing skills, in terms of descriptions, as the first half of the book for Jayson was in his mute state and I could only describe what he felt through expressions and grunts. It ended up translating pretty well with you guys so I'm pretty happy with the end result.

This was also a little growing stage for me because I tried to develop the universe my characters are set in more in Rogue than I had before. I realized that in Beta Mates and Alpha Mates, readers had barely any context to work with because my brain just assumed if you were on Wattpad you knew how these things worked. It was a little goal of mine to write assuming no one understands shit and I've been carrying that on with my current works as well.

My only regret in Rogue was not taking more time to construct the secondary conflict of the hidden person who destroyed Levi's original pack. Rereading it, I think I could've developed the character more and given a better outlook for his reasoning behind his actions. It's something I definitely will include when I, hopefully, one day, rewrite the book for publishing.

In conclusion, Rogue was a seriously enjoyable write for me. I loved writing about Jayson and Roger's relationship, I was obsessed with writing their love-relationship. I also loved exploring Aiden's character a bit more in his adulthood, I'm happy I wrote the book.

2 - Linked ❌

Ahhhh Linked *sigh*

I did manage to bring back Linked, I just couldn't make it to the complete stage. I actually really liked Linked in the beginning and where it was going, I mean Kat is one of my favorite characters to write about.

But along the way, Linked started to feel like a chore to write. It wasn't as enjoyable, I think also because other books were getting better responses at the time, so I thought people didn't really like it.

I had to take it down in the end because I was really just forcing myself to write which trust me is not fun at all and Kat of all people, doesn't deserve her story to be told like that. I don't regret taking it down or starting it, a necessary evil and all that bullshit.

As for its future, I think a lot about Linked these days. I miss writing about that world because it was a different world from the werewolf stuff, these days I'm enjoying writing about this universe I created and not only the characters in it.

Linked was on its way to being a magical adventure and some times I want to pick it back up and start again. I doubt I'll ever upload it without it being completed because people get testy without updates and I'm a shit under pressure.

But I'm also considering writing it and posting it as my side project, so people who read it know that I only update when I'm in the mood to write it and that may leave them waiting for months in worst cases. Its a solution for those who don't care about waiting time and for me who just wants to write it sometimes.

But Idk, we'll see what happens next year. For now, this goal was like, half-completed lol.

3 - Damon's book✔

I'm counting this as a completed goal because I said maybe complete lol.

Well, I don't have much to say about this because I'm still writing Delicate.

I'm really happy with how it's currently going, it is without a doubt my favorite book I've written. Not only because of how complex Damon's character turned out to be, allowing for more layers of writing, but also because of his pure and beautiful relationship with Will.

I honestly love the pair WAYYYYYYYYYY too much, can't wait to continue telling their story.

4 - Peter's book

I'm not even remorseful about this one because;

A) I clearly overestimated how quickly I could write, lmfaooooo.

I was thinking with my Alpha Mates mind where I used to write chapters every day because they were 1000-2000 words long, instead of my current writing mind with each chapter being 3000-6000 words.

B) I did not originally intend to write a Hagen story, so Peter's story would've come up much quicker if not for HagenXNikola's storyline which upsets the previous timeline I had in store.

Either way, I failed this goal.

5 - at least one of my secret, side books ✔

Master!!!!!

I had Master in my drafts section for literally a year, ever since I first mentioned the pair in my first draft of Linked. It was sitting there waiting and I was itching it let it go.

I wanted to wait because at the time I was already balancing 3 books and I also was a little nervous to wander away from werewolf books. It was what I knew and what I seemed to be good at, so drifting seemed risky.

But fuck, I'm so happy I did.

I am LOVING the vampire world that exists within the same universe, it's so fun to construct. Especially with Kalem's cute ass, he is literally the cutest character I have and I am never fucking letting him go. Lol.

I have a lot of side books, like a lot lool, that are just there as drafts. None of which have to do with the characters we know, just some random's that are waiting to be explored and hopefully one day they will be.

Anyway, I'm happy that I'm writing Master, I'm thankful for the amazing response it has gotten and I can not wait to see where it goes.

6 - Do more

I'm quite happy with myself that I managed this one.

This year I know I pulled a lot of double updates, a couple of triples and only one or two quadruples. I would do more if I wasn't so impatient to release chapters when I write more than one.

I literally have to sit myself down before I write and promise myself that I'll wait until I have like 3 before releasing because I just let them out and can't stop myself.

It's a problem, haha.

7 - Make every reader at least once. And I mean like break down cry, like you think about it all-day ✔

Well, I think I did but I won't know for certain so you guys have to tell me if I got this one. I hope I did or I'll just have to work even harder to make it so next year.

------------------------

So 4.5 completed out of 7, I'd say that's not too bad.

I've always done better with goals and charts, they definitely do help and I did check back on this a few times during the year to remind myself of what I was aiming for.

I will be making another one for 2020 and hopefully, I'll be able to complete every single one.

Thanks for a great year guys,

Love Tippyyyyyyyyyyyy
