《Twice Bitten ✔》Chapter 58

Today was the day! Leila had on a cute grey knee-length dress that hung off her shoulders, and I wore a black one-shoulder dress that had a slit on the left side. The rest of the gang met us at the house so we could head out. Everyone looked spectacular. The girls were dazzling, and the guys were dashing. We were taking Kayden's hummer and my dad's SUV. It was about the only way we were all going to fit without taking three cars.

I was seriously impressed when we entered the school gym. I t was completely transformed. Dylan and Kayden wrapped their arms around my waist.

"You look beautiful," Dylan whispered.

"Absolutely stunning." Kayden threw in.

They were seriously going to inflate my ego with all their praise. Not that I mind. What girl doesn't want to be told she's beautiful?

Callie and Sarah bounded over to our group, overflowing with energy. Callie squealed, effectively damaging my eardrum.

"We have to take pictures of all of you. You guys are totally going to be on the cover of the yearbook and probably the school paper!"

"Why us?"

Was I the only confused one?

"Why? Why not? You guys look like a bunch of demigods and goddesses!"

Leila and I giggled. "You're definitely exaggerating," Leila said.

"Callie has a knack for exaggerating things, but she's right, you guys do look otherworldly."

We all chuckled at that and gave them our thanks. We let them snap a couple of photos before heading to the dance floor. The party was definitely a huge success. Once we started dancing, it was as if we couldn't stop. Leila suddenly tugged on my arm

"Can we please take a break?"

I giggled and let her drag us to an empty table.

"Ugh, my feet are killing me."

"That's what you get for buying the highest heels you could find!" I laughed

"Mmmh, don't laugh at my pain." Leila groaned.

I looked around the room and smiled, everyone was having a great time. But that was to be expected when Sarah and Callie stepped up to the plate. But what I did not expect was to see Emmett here with someone other than Bianca. He currently had a redhead clinging to his arm, and he looked like he was going to die of boredom. I wonder what happened to Bianca. I highly doubt that she would let anyone else sink their claws into Emmett. I shook my head. Their drama wasn't any of my concern. It had absolutely nothing to do with me. I turned my attention back to Leila and smiled. Rafe was at her side in a flash. I was glad Leila finally found someone to dote on her; she deserved it.

I felt a flash of annoyance when a shadow loomed over me. I cocked my head to the side to find that it was none other than Bianca, but what caught my attention was the guy next to her. He had raven black hair, mocha skin, and eyes just as black as his hair, if not darker. How Bianca could even stand to be beside him was beyond me, his aura oozed out something ominous. It was like tendrils of darkness kept him caged, but there was no key. He was dangerous, and it rolled off him in currents. It was overwhelming, and once that current pulled you in; it could leave you fighting against your own paranoia and fears. I couldn't move as my eyes stayed trained on him.

Bianca's annoying wailing brought me back to reality. I was never more grateful for her nasal-like voice in my life. I guess Kayden and Dylan noticed my distress and were now standing at my side.

"Back off!" Dylan snarled.

Bianca held her hands up in shock before smirking.

"I just wanted your precious little bitch to know that she'll get what's coming to her."

What the hell?!

"Was that a threat?" I asked, stepping up.

Bianca looked a little panicked but held her ground.

"More like a promise, princess."

If she wanted to play, then we could play. I was getting really tired of her. I didn't see the point in anything she did anymore. Why was she fighting? For Emmett? What sense did it make to fight over something I didn't even want anymore? I refuse to let her stand here and threaten me, though. I was getting ready to launch myself at her when Kayden and Dylan hauled me away. I struggled out of their grasp and sat at one of the empty tables. Mason and Noah plopped down next to me

"You good?" Noah asked

I let out a sigh and nodded.

"Yeah, I'm good."

Mason smiled "Then come dance with us, beautiful."

I giggled and followed them to the dance floor. I was glasd for the distraction. Kayden strode over to us after a while.

"Are my idiot brothers showing you a good time?"

"Yes, yes, they are. They were perfect gentlemen."

I laughed when Kayden made a displeased sound and Mason smirked.

"Dear brother, why on earth do you seem so irritated? Are you coming down with a nasty case of jealousy?"

"While I do admit that you look rather dashing tonight, green is just not your color, brother." Noah chimed in.

"Yeah? Well, how about I paint your faces red, little brother?"

I laughed and wrapped my arms around Kayden's neck.

"They were only teasing, Kayden. Leave them alone."

Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the boys sticking their tongues out, and Kayden rolled his eyes. I giggled. They were so silly.

"Of course you stick up for them."

"Oh, stop pouting."

Kayden kissed me on the cheek, and we headed back towards our group and danced the night away.
