《Twice Bitten ✔》Chapter 50

My secrets were starting to pile up and it's causing me to be a shit best friend. I was scared as hell that she'd freak out and leave me. She's always been there, and I needed her. I also knew that no matter the outcome of our friendship, she'd be pretty ticked off I was keeping a secret from her, even if it was something she thought crazy. That's just how Leila is. This led me to my current situation that I was in- sitting on my bed across from Leila, sweating bullets.

"Am I ever going to get an explanation?" Leila asked, turning to face me.

"Yeah," I said slowly

'I'm not sure where to begin, to be honest."

"Start from what's been going on between the three of you."

I guess she was talking about Dylan, Kayden, and I. I laughed.

"That might be the hardest to explain. In all honesty, I'm not even sure myself. We all just click. How things turn out and how our relationship works are beyond me."

"But they both like you, right?"

I chuckled. "Seems about right."

"And you like them."

"So much it scares me. It might sound strange but I have feelings for both of them."

Leila stared at me for long and hard before cracking a smile and erupting in giggles.

"Not everyone can say that they have two yummy boyfriends"

I blushed.

"They're not my boyfriends!"

"Yet." Leila giggled

I rolled my eyes, and Leila got serious again.

"What else is going on? How did you and Kai meet?"

I cleared my throat and looked away. What if I lost my best friend? Could I take her writing me off as crazy? I sighed. If that's how things were going to end, then I might as well get it over with.

"What I'm going to say next is going to sound crazy."

"Oh, shit. He's not another love interest is he?"

I laughed. "Nah, I mean I love him, but not like that."

"Huh? Explain please,"

I sighed.

"Leila, I need you to be completely open-minded about this, okay?"

Leila nodded.

"I'm a witch."

"I want to know because I care about you. I'd rather you didn't bullshit me right now." Leila's voice oozed annoyance.

"I'm a hundred percent serious with you right now."

Leila's eyes widened.

"I would try to laugh this off, but I know you well enough to know when you're serious. I also know you well enough to know that you're not psychotic."

Leila drew in a ragged breath.

"So, give me proof."

I breathed a sigh of relief. She was going to hear me out before taking off.

"I'll be right back!"

I hopped off the bed and raced down the stairs. I grabbed a glass and filled it with water before heading back upstairs. I searched for something with a smooth surface to keep the water balanced. I found an old wooden jewelry box, that should do the trick. Leila watched me curiously as I set them in the middle of the bed.

She looked confused as I sat criss-cross apple sauce in front of the water.

"Don't you need candles or something?"

I chuckled.

"No, just watch."

I took a deep breath and felt a rush of magic flow through me as I envisioned the water raising from the glass and forming into drops. I smiled when I heard her gasp. I opened my eyes and found her staring in awe. I decided to take it a step further and asked the waiter to merge. The water complied and merged intricately, slowly formed a medium-sized butterfly. Now even I was amazed; to actually see it was simply mind-blowing. The elements were definitely not to be taken lightly. They could be raging, peaceful, and incredibly beautiful.

"That's freaking amazing! Oh my God, I have a witch for a best friend."

I giggled at her amazement.

"You know this just goes to shows that my awesomeness attracts more awesomeness," Leila said proudly.

I pinched her thigh, and she yelped.

"So, you're not going to run away?"

"Nope."

"And you know you can't tell anyone?"

She rolled her eyes.

"I know. I'm not stupid." Leila pouted.

"I know," I said softly

Leila forcefully grabbed me into a hug.

"Stop looking so worried. You're my best friend, and I love you."

I sniffed.

"I love you too."

"Okay, so how does Kai get thrown into the mix?"

I blushed wildly.

"Umm, Kai's a witch too."

She gave me a questioning glance and I proceeded in telling her exactly how we met. Once I was done explaining Leila roared in laughter.

"That's a priceless way to meet someone!"

"Shut up!"

We both erupted in giggles and the weight on my shoulders instantly lifted. I was so glad I didn't have to keep things from her anymore. We talked for hours. She told me about her growing feelings for Rafe, and I went on to tell her about my confusing feelings for Dylan and Kayden.

I even told her about me and Kai's encounter with Tyler. She just loved that story. Leila being the devious person that she is, thought that Kai and I should have called him up and teased him a bit. I'm pretty she was only half kidding. Later that day, we were pretty nervous to tell my dad that I spilled the beans, but he didn't even blink. He simply nodded his head and went back to watching TV.

'You're not mad?"

"Why would I be? Leila's your best friend, you guys have known each other since you were in diapers. I knew you would tell her sooner or later." He shrugged his shoulders

"So you weren't worried about me telling anyone?" Leila asked

Dad gave a knowing glance.

"Your the type of person to worry about someone stealing your witch best friend, then about who knows that you have one."

I laughed when Leila nodded in agreement. Leila sniffed.

"You know me so well."

Now that was over and done with; it was time to relax. Leila hummed when she saw my face.

"What are you thinking?"

" I think it's time to have a party."

Leila and I spent the remainder of the evening planning for the party. Dad conveniently told me that he was taking mom out and that they would be staying at a hotel.

"Who are we inviting?"

We looked down at the tablet in front of us and started writing down names. I even added Tyler and Theo to the list.

"Is this everyone you want to invite?" Leila asked.

"Um, can you add Michael and Trevor to the list."

Leila furrowed her brows. "Are you sure about that?"

I nodded my head. "They've always been good to me. Even when shit hit the fan with Emmett, they made sure I was okay. I don't want to cut them out completely."

Leila nodded and added them onto the list.
