I blushed a deep red when Rafe slipped me onto his lap. I've had a crush on him for over a year now, but I was always too scared to go up to talk to him. I've never been scared to speak to a boy before, but Rafe has that whole scary bad boy thing going for him, and truthfully he scares the shit out of me sometimes. I almost jumped when I felt his breath near my ear.

"How come we've never talked before?" he asked.

"Truthfully?"

He nodded and placed his head in the crook of my shoulder.

"I was scared to talk to you," I said blushing again.

Which only made him laugh.

"Why?"

"I don't know. I mean- I do... you just have that 'Don't approach me, unless you wanna get your ass kicked' look."

And of course, that only made him laugh even more.

"Okay, now wait a minute. How come you never came to talk to me?" I asked.

He shrugged.

"You didn't seem interested in me, or my 'scary bad boy look.'" he said teasingly.

"Well, how about we get to know each other better?" he asked, grazing his lips against my cheek.

Did he really think I could say no?

"Yeah, I'd like that," I said, smiling at him and the smile he gave me in return had my heart melting.
