opens his eyes. He wonders why he even needs to open his eyes when all he will continue to find is darkness looming around him.
Had it crept it's way into his heart?.
Perhaps, yes.
He walks off his king-sized bed towards his luxurious bathroom to continue on with his useless everyday routine. The luxuries might just be compensation that he wasn't gifted with an ability.
Eyes.
He was blind.
Which had him stumble multiple times in the past as he tries to understand and navigate his ways through his villa. He wasn't a regular person or so he tends to hear from everyone because since his one ability was not with him he was gifted with others such as his sharp brain and senses.
He was a genius.
So, he had worked harder than an average person to complete his college and ironically he was graduated in law out of everything else. It wasn't easy at any point but now that's beside the point.
Because now he was a successful lawyer, no, he is not a practising lawyer instead he is more of the one behind the scenes. While his friend is the one in front of everyone, his friend uses his helps in his case. Some more important cases of the court are assigned to him and since he helps in almost all the cases (he has nothing else to do) so they pay a high price to him.
That explains his luxurious life.
He walks downstairs hating that there are this many stairs but it his pass time when he is extremely bored. It's not like he could walk outside and do something.
He cannot experience any fun as many say it. He heard to the kitchen to find his breakfast on the table and he starts to eat it when he heard familiar clicking of the heel that belongs to his mother.
"Ah! My favourite son". His mother said hugging him which he awkwardly returns
"I am your only son". He mumbles and his mother just laughs it off
As always.
His mother is a character to look at and he would rather not look at. He always stayed at distance from her because of many reasons. He sometimes hopes that his father comes back from above so he could feel better.
"Will you be home today?". His mother asked sitting beside him
"I am home every day". He replied nonchalantly as he continues to eat feeling her stare at him which made him feel weird
Stares are never good especially his mother's.
"Good Good. I have someone I want you to meet". His mother said excitedly
He groaned, "Not again. I told you I don't want to marry".
"And why not?. Tum koi rozana jawaan nahi ho rahe bus ab bohat ho gaya hai. Kitni larkiyan maine tumhare liye select ki aur tum nae sub ko reject kia hai ab is wali per tumhari koi marzi nahi". His mother warned walking away (You are not getting any younger every day. I have selected plenty of girls for you and you have rejected them. Now, on this girl you don't have a choice)

He sighs when he heard his phone ringing and he answered it placing it on his ear as his friend updated him on the recent case.
"I sent you the audio of the victim and the accuser. The person is rather calm for someone who had raped children. Could you look into whatever you look in their voice and tell me?". His friend Yasir asked
"Fine. I will do it in few minutes". He said as he takes his plate to the sink placing them there
He walks back to the top floor where his study is located with less furniture because he wouldn't want to randomly bump into them and it gives him breathing space.
He went to his laptop which is specially made for him to work through the files. He had a set model and he likes to stay in order which made him less anxious. He likes schedules, silence and his own peace which is also the reason he didn't want to marry.
Obviously, he is lying.
The main reason is something else.
He heard the recording of the children who had spoken about the horrifying incident and the way he could see their heartbreaking and the way their voice cracks after every word as they have to live through the incident again and maybe in the future, they will continue to live through it.
Because of medical attention to the victim is nonexistent. It should have been free at least for children who suffered but everyone expects them to normalise themselves. And that's just how people normalize the taboos.
He shakes his head listening over and over to find that the abuser had indeed done all that he was denied. The tone of his voice was different and the pitch doesn't match his words of innocence. He knows the abuser was confident in himself that no one can find anything about him with the fact that his society image is transparent and good. He will try to use it to come out of this case sooner which means the timing is crucial.
He knows Yasir will come in anyways because he loves hanging around his house so he listed down all the points via a voice recorder on his phone and he had to say technology did make his life easier.
He worked on a few more cases while working on enhancing his sharp skills. He doesn't ever stop studying because that's the only comfort he could find.
"Woah! This place is huge". He heads a loud feminine voice making him jolt in his seat almost knocking himself down
He groaned.
Has it begun?.
"Who are you?. Have you ever heard of knocking?". He asked harshly because he doesn't wish for her to stay long
"Geez, calm down bad boy no need to be harsh. I knocked about one two three... yeah thrice but you were in your world to pay attention to this world so I just came inside. Also, for the question to who I am as far as I have known I am your future wife to be". Arooj said smiling as she looks around the huge study

"No one said you will be my wife". He said placing his hands on the table to look intimidating which he knows by his aura people do run away faster
"Well, does your mother count?. Because I know for sure that's what she said before I was brought here". She said shrugging, "Also, you look funny with that look so might want to calm down so we can have an adult conversation".
"I don't want to have any conversations with you, to begin with". He said frowning angrily, "Will you just tell me how much my mother paid you to be here and be my supposed wife?".
She gasped placing a hand over her mouth as her eyes widen, "No way".
"What?". He asked confused as she did sound shocked and the movement she was doing before such as her moving her feet front and back halted
He noticed that.
She was bouncing, he knows because he felt it and he listens to people body language. Her bag had a keyring which rings while she moves.
He feels her coming impossibly close to him in large strides standing right in front of him as her scent invaded his senses and he curses himself for not moving back because he didn't want to show her any weaknesses.
He is an idiot. A good one.
"You are telling me". She said leaning closer as she whispers, "That your mother pay girls money to come here?".
"Ah, yeah?". He said unsure to where this was going
"Like upfront?". She asked to clarify
"Yes". He said poking his tongue to the side of his cheeks as he tries to figure out what exactly is happening
"Woah Woah". She said moving back and he thanks the Lord for it as she throws her hand around frantically, "This has to be some sort of scam".
"What are you talking about?". He asked irritated by her behaviour
She turns to find him standing staring at places and she takes steps towards him, "Your mother never paid me anything. This has to be a scam. Come on! This is discrimination or something. You are a lawyer, right?". He nodded at her outburst that took him off guard, "Then you find some way to get me my rightful money. Oh, my sweet money! How can this happen?".
They heard a chuckle and their head turns to find Yasir in the room as he looks at her amused.
"Yasir--". He started
"You must be the next in line". Yasir said grinning at her, "It's a pleasure to meet you".
"If I wasn't having a breakdown and to find that I lost money then I would have said the same". She said dramatically
"Are you in your right mind?". He asked her annoyed
"Look! Should I go to her and like ask her nicely about the money or should I straight up threaten her for it?". She asked genuinely
He wanted to bang his head against the wall or something. He wanted to get rid of her even more.
He straightened his posture keeping a hard face,"I am not interested in marrying you. If you want that money go ahead and take it and leave. I don't wish to have anyone beside me".
"Heard that". She said huffing,"You have to be this mean while rejecting a poor woman?. How many hearts did you break?".
He groaned, "Can't you see the message in my words?".
She shrugged, "I did but it was useless so I didn't pay heed to it".
"You know you can't reject her". Yasir said before his friend could scare the girl away, "Your mother didn't give you any choice this time. It's either she or you are six feet under and I think option one is what a wise man would choose".
She looks at him being more agitated and sighs, "Honestly I would have rejected you but I can't".
That is the first time he heard her normal voice or that's what he thinks a normal person voice should be like. Her voice pitch was regular for once. It's either loud, anxious or agitated.
"And why can't you?". He asked leaning against the table crossing his hands over his chest
"Well, I would truly love to reject you and like you I am not truly interested in marrying but I am bound by someone to do so". She said shrugging as she tips toe on her feet with her hand in her jeans, "And if I don't do it she will have me married to someone else and someone who is much older than me".
"Why kind of person does that?". He asked confused, "Your parents would do something like that?".
Her face pale as she gulped fisting her hand, "I never said the person is associated to me personally".
"Your words are vague". He said sighing as he rubs his face, "I can't believe that you wouldn't reject me after watching how I don't want any relationship and neither I talk nicely".
"Seems to me that you are faking them both". She said biting down on her lips as she looks at him closely, "Your words don't match your eyes".
"That's because I am blind". He said rolling his eyes
Silence.
"Ah, now I know why she would send me here so willingly. I guess my check went to her then". She said rolling her eyes, "By the way you didn't deny my words".
He groaned as she continued, "If I had a choice of my own trust me I would have rejected someone who doesn't wish to respect me and this relationship however since there is nothing both us could go". She said moving closer to him and he tense, "I guess we are getting married, my future husband".

Dex's Adventure Through The Elemental Nations (Completed)
Clair/Dex is bored of her first life, so she/he decides to end it and see what happens after death. But his/her system has an update and new possibilities arise. Now he/she's going to live as Naruto with some extras, but was it the right decision to change the childhood difficulty from Normal to Very Hard? Read it yourself and see what changes Dex will bring. Here comes the chicken eating and crazy being called Dex. We all hope the Elemental Nations are ready for him. --------------------------------------- My second story, hope it will have a better start than the first one. Clair will be OP, just not as OP as previously. She will also start fairly weak, cause she is a baby..... Have a funny read. There might come more tags, like reader Interactive or Romance, but again I'm not sure. Don't know if I have to say it, but I don't know anything from the Naruto Universe, I only own the new things I introduce and naturally Dex.
