Because she didn't want any more of this topic. Maybe she was the one wrong and she shouldn't have said that.

"It was Maham". His mother spoke as he promised him

His eyes turn to his mother, "Why?".

The underlining of anger in his tone was visible to anyone and his mother knows that their whole family anger wasn't pleasant. They are not the ones who are always angry but at times they are- it's never good. She also knows that her son is one of those who respect the relationships attached to him and at the moment he is fighting with both.

"Because she voiced her opinion about the designs Maham made". His mother said

He closes his eyes, "So, just because someone actually went forward and objected those designs she have issues".

"Some people don't like to be questioned about their actions". His mother said bitterly

"Then they need to learn tolerance". He said as anger course through his veins

He turns to look at her shaking like a leaf which made him close his eyes to stop himself from this anger.

Anger is man worse enemy and the devil's best friend. Because it is in anger that a man does the greatest bad and realise the moment he is in calm. That's why when you are angry to a point that no one and nothing makes sense to you- that moment when you feel to turn everything around, then at that moment turn to the one who actually has the power to turn everything around before you do something, because if you flip the world it will turn on you but if HE flips the world HE will turn it for you".

"Then you need to prove yourself". He said opening his eyes looking into her broken blue eyes, "You need to work on your ideas and how you want them to be, to show everyone what you meant- if it's ok with Ammi".

"I didn't like those designs either". His mother added, "I will love to see yours".

"So, my designs can be nice?". She asked confused because she never ever done anything besides her usual assignment work

"We will never know until you show us". He spoke smiling

She nodded.

"Come, I will put some ice-". His mother said lovingly

"No-No. You need rest I can-". She started taking her hand away from his mother hold

"How about you both just relax while I do the work?". He suggested

"But-". She started

His mother holds her hand dragging her, "Haan Haan is ko krnay do". (Yes yes, let him do it)

Her eyes widen as she sits with his mother on the couch who passes her the previous designs to look at.

"He won't be angry to do woman's work?". She asked confused

"What woman work?". His mother asked curiously

"I mean my brothers and father used to be very mad at me if they even have to pick a glass of water themselves". She explained

His eyes narrow at her words knowing there was some sick mentality right there.

"You know the man who was sent to earth as an example for us?". His mother asked and she nodded, "Did you ever heard him being angry at his wife or daughters for not doing any work?. He never asked them to do his work instead he used to do his own work no matter what it was. When someone as high as him never once said that household was the only woman works how can anyone else?".

"Then why?". She said genuinely confused

"I won't only blame men because if anything our woman was supposed to raise their children like they were told and they failed. Why do you think woman will be asked about their children doing?. We failed to teach our children the ethics, patience, love and most of all the care for another human being. Even if men at fault- look at the woman who is always ahead of men these days. They all only speak about empowerment but that just means to show men they are lower that's not how our religion told us to be. They assigned us roles- a woman even fought in wars because they were considered equal and at that time there was no showing other is lower than someone else. It's because of the continuous need to show other lower that we came to this point". She said wisely smiling patting her head, "Tell me about your family?".

"I have only Baba and 4 brothers". She said timidly looking at the papers not wanting to remember that time

"Where is your Ammi?". His mother asked softly

That exact moment he came out to ask what he can order for them but stop when he heard her answer.

"She went away". She said sniffing, "When I was 6".

"Then you grow in all-male?. How was it?". His mother asked again

Her heart rips inside her chest, "I-I don't know how it was".

"What does that mean?". His mother asked sitting beside her on the carpet holding her shaking hands, "They hurt you?".

She broke down.

"They hurt you". His mother stated because looking at her crying only confirmed it

She nodded wiping her tears away not wanting to break down even more.

"It's ok to cry, beta. You have us". His mother said bringing her closer hugging her tightly, "It's important to cry so you can leave all that happen with you in past then".

"They hurt me". She said crying, "I didn't know why until I was 10. They said they didn't want a girl instead my father wished for a son and they had me so they treated me like their servant and asked me to work day in and out. First, Ammi was there so she used to hide me under the bed to not have anyone touch me then she wasn't there. My Daadi and Phopho only fuelled their (Baba and brothers) anger and made them start hitting me on every mistake. They said a girl should know her place and I will go out of hands because I have no mother over my head. T-They all hurt me- my father and brother they all used to hit me and they made sure I have no friends or outside life".

He gulped visibly hearing her words feeling the pain in his own heart. He walks out of the house towards the garden to breathe in some air before he lose his mind altogether.

He will never be able to understand how can a man ever dare to raise hand on His Lord beautiful creation?. How sick does one have to be to ever lay a hand on a woman?.

He realise at that woman that the one always begging for help in his dream was her.

It was her all along.

He walks back because he needed to give her the ice pack for her cheeks which only build back his anger.

"When did your father first hit you?". His mother asked as he holds the packet in his hand

"My mother used to say the day I was born". She said sighing, "She said that he came into the room and I was crying because I had a fever and he got angry and hit me".

He could have sworn if he was hurt before he felt someone pushing through him with so much force he felt something wet on his cheeks he wipes away his tears but the force only made him stumble on his feet and the packet in his hand falls on the ground.

Their heads turn to him and she only feels embarrassed that every single time, he was always there at the wrong time hearing all her stories.

"Sorry, ladies". He said composing himself holding the packet moving towards then handing it to her, "I wanted to know what my ladies would like to eat tonight?. Outside or inside?".

"Outside". His mother said excitedly then turns towards her, "What do you like to eat?".

She thought for a moment, "Pizza?".

"I love Pizza. What flavour?". He asked curiously

She smiles, "Cheese?".

"Ok. Cheese it is then". He said standing from his seat, "But while the Pizza gets here let's see one of your design, shall we Ammi?".

"Yes, please". His mother said smiling warmly at her

She nodded looking at the blank paper while he went away to order their food. He came back with some snack for them and both he and his mother saw how she was immense in her design and how her face glows differently. It didn't even seem like she was ever hurt in her life and all she looks was in peace.

He sends a quick prayer to his Lord to ease her worries and enable him to do that.

"Oh! One of my business partners is back in town. Since he got married I invited them over for dinner in a few days". He told his mother as he places his head in her lap which is his stress reliever

"What's your plan for marriage, beta?". His mother asked him while her eyes remain on her because she can find the same passion in her which she had once

The same passion she discovered and was able to grow and built-in with her husband help. He was the one who encouraged her and that bouquet remained closed for months because she didn't trust herself enough but he didn't lose hope and helped her through everything and finally she was able to reach so far.

"I do have plans". He confessed smiling

His mother pats his cheek, "Then take a step further so we can do something".

"What if the one I want isn't ready?". He asked confused

"You never know". His mother said softly knowing her son's heart, "Woman heart can be hurt by the people she loves the most still she has the power to love all over again".

"Really?". It wasn't him who speak

It was her soft voice.

He didn't turn to look at her knowing that her eyes must be having that pain in them. The same pain he watches her go through every single night.

"Yes, beta. One bad experience doesn't end life. That is life". His mother said, "We are meant to meet people who hurt us for us to understand and know exactly what we want".

She nodded going back to her design and then the bell rings. He walks to bring the Pizza in and he was taken back to find that childlike grin on her face which blows him away completely at the mere sight of Pizza.

Does she love it that much?.

The answer was clear because she looks so happy when he handed her some pizza and the moment she takes the first bite she was gone into her own world simply enjoying the food to her heart content. He send a quicker prayer to his Lord to always have her this happy.

After they were done he threw all the garbage away sitting back on the couch.

"What do you wish to do with Maham?". He asked because he would do something on his own but for the first time he wasn't sure if that would be appreciated

She frowns, "Nothing".

"Nothing?". His mother asked, "At least slap her back I will feel good".

She chuckles, "What will that do besides hurting her?. I don't want to do the same as her because then we won't have any difference between us".

His mother and he sighs nodding.

It was a simple theory.

The ones who are kind to others is because they have not felt that kindness. They know the value of that kindness. They know it's not what everyone can do and the one who can are absolutely good.

So, she chooses to live her life without holding any grudge that night when she cried in his mother arms and in someone arms and warmth for the first time after her mother died because all the pain she carried- she was always alone.

Now, she has two people- or maybe two. She wasn't sure yet.

The whole night she spends in designing many different designs and she didn't even realise until it was morning. But, she felt different usually all she does is cry the night and feel tired the next day.

However, even when she didn't sleep the night she felt happy.

"Ammi, remember those guests?". He asked while he eats his breakfast

He has to agree that his mother coming to sit with him on the table was a blessing. He was thankful to his Lord and then her for it.

"Haan". His mother replied

"They will come tonight because they have many dinners in line so they wanted to come early. Is that ok?". He asked

"It should be". His mother nodded

The day went by and his mother went to her bouquet only to find that the whole things were so different that she didn't even recognise it anymore.

She finds his mother coming back at 5 PM and her mood was down. She was sure of it. She didn't know if talking to her will help so she went to cook for her instead.

"What are you cooking?". He asked coming inside to find her immense in her work

She immediately hides the batter bowl behind her looking at him wide eyes.

He loves it.

Her eyes are the best thing of her and the more he looks at them- the more he loves it. Maybe he can look at them for life if he was blessed enough.

"What are you hiding?". He said playfully

She shakes her head, "Will you promise to keep it a secret?".

He raises his eyebrows thoughtfully he wasn't a man of many words neither he was a promising type of guy. He was more of acting and showing with his action type. Promises for him are fake in this world now and people use them to betray others.

However, he can bend his rule for once right?. Her eyes looking at him with so much hope he doesn't have it in his heart to hurt her.

He nodded curiously.

She places the batter in front of him, "Shhh! It's for Ammi- she looks sad so I wanted to make her favourite cake".

He genuinely smiles, "I guess I should help you then".

"But you already delivered cooked meal for dinner and everything else, I didn't even do anything". She sounded like whining to him which he found absolutely adorable

He wanted to hear more of her talking like that. In her own innocence and smiles.

"Because I wanted you to not overwork yourself". He said leaning on the wall enjoying this way more than he should

She stomps her feet and he hold in his laughter at the way face turns disappointed, "I want to do it".

He couldn't hold himself anymore so he laughs, "Ok. Ok. Go ahead".

He shakes his head walking to talk to his mother about what she is worried about.

She walks to his mother bedroom because she called her there and she enters inside to find various dressing on the bed.

"What is it?". She asked confused

"You are having your own clothes. I don't like that you have to wear my old clothes so I brought some beautiful ones when I went out". His mother said excitedly, "I want to see you dress up".

She chuckles, "Ok. Which one?".

"This". His mother said passing her the dress, "The guest will be here so I am going down".

She walks down after dressing into the clothes his mother wanted a little shy because she never wore such clothes in front of anyone, not even her own family because they didn't allow her.

He looks at the stairs when he heard the soft sound of her steps and he felt his heart-stopping for a moment before it starts to pound rapidly in his chest.

She looks so beautiful.

But his moment breaks when he heard the doorbell ringing and the guests coming in.

But her world stops when she finds who was the guest, "Sufiyaan".
