father office after getting all the information where she finds her sister already there.
"What are you doing here after you are already out of our house?". Her father said
"Are you planning to marry her to Hasan?". She asked angrily
"Hasan?". Her sister said scared and shocked
"Why do you care?. I can decide for my daughter". Her father said angrily standing from his seat
"You are doing a poor job for deciding for your daughters". She said feeling the years' long frustrations coming in, "Here are the details of the man you find so perfect for your daughter".
She turns to her sister narrowing her eyes at her, "Are you going to speak for once or not?".
Her sister looks at her scared because probably this is the first time she ever spoke like this in front of her father and for the first time she actually looks strong.
Then her sister spoke. She told him that Hasan was harassing her that day and for days when Hadiya saw that she slapped him. The whole time her sister speaks and unfortunately or fortunately her sister spoke a little far and off-topic going back to the old days where she was to do wrong and Hadiya was punished.
She didn't speak.
She watches how the pride in her father broke the moment he found he has been wrong the whole time. But it doesn't matter. Not now.
"Now, you decide if you want your daughter to marry that man". She said walking away trying to keep her posture as she walks in the office towards the washroom
Once she was alone she cried for the first time. Because remembering all the things yet again brought back the pain attached to them. Every day when she would wait with her sister for her father to come home and the only one he would see is her sister. Just like that slowly she was out of the frame for her own family.
She walks out of the washroom heading to the security room going back to her work.
Azlaan looks at the time and it was already late. She wasn't back and there was no connection with her to know where she is. The worries built into him making him insane when his phone rings.
The moment he finds her location he ran out of his towards his car driving off.
"I was waiting for you". Aziz said when he saw him entering into the office building
Azlaan nodded, "Where is she?".
"She is in her office however I think something happened because she didn't look good after she spoke to her father". Aziz said taking him to her office, "Just to clear this between us. She is like a sister to me and we have been working for a very long time together. I don't have anything for her and I am genuinely happy that she is with you".
Azlaan nodded entering inside her cabin to find her sleeping peacefully on her chair with her face on the desk. He walks slowly towards her standing beside her removing her hair away from her face and the pale skin of her clearly indicates that something went down.
His phone rings and he immediately takes it out to close it but she was already opening her eyes making him sigh.
He answered the call only to find her father on the other side, "Would you like to join us for dinner?".
"Us?". He asked confused because the way her father reacted to their marriage wasn't anywhere nice

She looks at him blinking her eyes rubbing them with the back of her hand to clear the sleep away which made him smile.
"Your father wants us to come for dinner". He informed
"Tell him no". She said stern
He was taken back but he delivered her message to her father ending the call.
"How about we go out on dinner for our wedding celebration?". He asked smiling
She nodded her head, "Just give me a few minutes and we can leave".
He nodded as she went away to the washroom and he looks around her office. He finds a family picture on her table with all of her family in it. While her father was obviously holding Khadija (because they don't look same) she was standing alone on her own beside her parents.
"We can leave now". She said tired of the emotions for the day
He forwards his hand to her and she places her hand on him. He tugged her towards him making her yelp but his arms wounded around her waist hugging her tightly.
"I don't know what went down but I told you that whenever I find you drifting alone I will be your shoulder". He said softly patting her back
"My father was marrying my sister to Hasan. I found out and confronted him. I asked my sister to tell him all about Hasan doing but she went on and told him about all the time when I took her blame on me. My father looked guilty and wanted to apologise- that's what I think but I don't know how to feel about it". She said sniffing leaning more into his comforting arms
"Do you want to forgive him?". He asked
"I never truly cared about his behaviour towards me. Yes, it hurts and he left a mark on me but I don't think any sort of apologies will be able to cure it and I was never looking forward to having a normal relationship with him ever in future". She said truthfully
"So, we can just tell him that he has no more part of your life". He suggested
"Yes". She said shortly pulling back
He smiles caressing her cheeks, "Ok. We can go out for now forgetting everything and then take everything slow".
She nodded smiling.

"That's the best thing that happened". Alia said squealing making her chuckle
"Finally freedom". Tasha said smiling hugging her
"Ok. Ok. Keep it low". She said softly
"Hell no. Do you know how many nights I prayed that you escape from your father?. I used to say that you find someone amazing who loves you like you deserve to be". Alia said smiling softly
"Who is loving her?". They heard Azlaan voice making their eyes widen
"Oh, just this boy who passed by". Alia said waving her hand like it's nothing smirking at her
Azlaan looks at her and she shrugged. He narrows his eyes at her holding her making her come by his side.
"Now you will stay with me in university all the time". He stated
"What?. No. I won't". She said stubbornly
"Yes, you will". He said holding her hand walking towards their first class
She turns to look at her friends who laugh at her misery waving her hand and she narrows her eyes at them before she can do anything they enter the class.
She looks at everyone's eyes focused on their hands and she really didn't care because the hold of his on her hand made her feel good so she allowed him to lead the way as their day started.

"And she slapped me for holding her sister's hand". She heard Hasan saying as she was talking to her friends
She turns to look at him, "I can do it again".
"Because of you, my proposal was rejected too". Hasan said angrily taking a step towards her
But before he can touch a hair on her head Azlaan stands in front of her.
"Now try talking". He threatened angrily
"She-". Hasan said but he didn't even speak before a punch was thrown his way
"I don't hear a word against my wife". He said holding his collar punching him again
Hasan wipes the blood from his lips shocked, "Wife?".
Azlaan wraps his hands around his wife bringing her closer, "Yes, she is my legal wife now before any of you dare to speak against her or us know that I won't hesitate to kill you".
With that, he holds her hand as they walk out of the university.
Just as they exit she breaks into laughter making him look at her confused.
"It's just you look funny when you are angry". She said biting her lips to stop herself from laughing
He shakes his head chuckling forgetting his anger, "And you are the only one who laughs at my anger".
She still giggles, "So, what we are doing now?".
"We can go on a date or something because there is no way I am going back in". He suggested
"What are we waiting for?". She said softly
He forwards his hand to her and she puts her in second.
"Also, my friend invited us over for dinner for our wedding". He said smiling
******
"Yeh kia howa?". He said entering inside his room looking at his exceptionally beautiful wife (What happened here)
She turns around tying her hair in a loose bun frowning at him.
"Ek second". He said walking outside of the door and coming back in, "Nahi room toh sahi hai. Kia ho gaya meri begum ko?. Yeh kon hai?". (No, the room is right. What happened to my wife?. Who is this?)
She rolls her eyes wearing her jhumkas,"Arey baba-".
"I am not your baba". He said grimly
"Arey Bhai mai-". She started
"Are you crazy?. I am not your brother. Don't call me that". He said looking at her shocked
She laughs coming closer to him pinching his cheeks," Haan Haan ab pata chal gaya kaisa lagta hai jub koi tang karta hai?". (Yeah yeah. Now you know how it feels when someone irritate you)
He wrapped his arms around her waist bringing her closer playing with her jumkas, "Meri yeh majal jo mai ittni haseen begum ko tang karuin?. Yeh toh gunnah hai, kasam se". (How dare I disturb my wife?. This is a sin I swear)
"Mujhe lagta hai tum bimaar ho gai ho". She said softly (I think you are sick)
"Ishq mai, haan". He said making her laugh which he has to say is his favourite sound (In love, yes)
"Kis k ishq mai?". She asked smiling (whose love)
"Ap k elawa aur kis k ishq mai hona jaiez nahi mere liye. Awi toh nahi shaadi ki maine. Apne ishq ko hasil karna bhi sub k bus ki baat nahi hai". He said smiling caressing her cheeks, "How about we ditch the dinner?".
She pushes him back narrowing her eyes," Arey yaar-".
"Yaar Bhi nahi huin". He said crossing his arms over his chest looking away (I am not your yaar)
She shakes her head, "So what should I call you?".
He shrugged, "I don't know".
"Acha acha". She said softly biting her lips as she speaks the next words, "Sunaein".
"Haye maaro gi kia apne aashiq ko". He said grinning loving the sound of that word (God! Are you going to kill your lover)
She rolls her eyes, "Now we are getting late for dinner".
"Thora khush honae dayti zalim auraat". He said chuckling (You could have let me be happy for a while, cruel woman)
She walks towards the door but before she can leave he pulls her back looking at her beautiful face.
"There is a lot of things missing from our marriage". He said sadly, "I want to do everything that I possibly can. This is nothing compared to what I got from this marriage".
He wraps a small bracelet around her wrist kissing her soft hands.
She smiles, "What did you get?".
"You". He said watching her go red
"Acha Majnu. We need to leave". She said shaking her head
"Yeh raat bohat muskil guzare gi". He mumbles walking with her to leave (Tonight is going to be tough to spend)
*****
"I was thinking to ask baba for your friend proposal for my sister". She said laying in his arms after coming back from dinner
"You know about him liking your sister?". He asked shocked
"Well, I am not blind. But is a good man?". She asked confused
"He is. If he isn't we can beat him to it". He said making her chuckle
"No. I would like to choose the best for my sister. The only problem I have with him is he is being a coward which I absolutely dislike. My sister is too innocent and she needs someone who always protects her". She said thoughtfully
"We can play with him a little then". He suggested smirking
******
"So, what do you want to talk about?". His friend asked
"I am sorry". He said sadly
"What?". His friend asked
"You saw how Khadija didn't come to university for a week?". He asked watching him nod, "I tried talking to my wife about your proposal but she told me that they are already interested in one".
"What are you saying?. You know I like her I can do anything for her. I just wanted her to complete her studies peacefully and then send proposal". His friend said almost breaking down watching his love going away
"I told you to not wait for the perfect time instead make a perfect time. You could have asked her parents but told them that you wanted her to complete her studies and there must have been a different solution. You can't decide for her life on your own". He said sighing, "Anyway I don't know what you can do next".
"There is no way I am going down without a fight". His friend said walking away angrily
He watches him leave then turn to his wife smirking.
The work is done.
*****
"Why him?". Her father asked softly for the first time
"Because he is the best for her". She said shortly
"Will you stay here?". Her father asked, "At least let me send you off nicely?".
"You mean doing those luxurious spending for no reason?". She said chuckling, "No, thank you. I don't want it and I am sure my husband doesn't want it either".
"Actually begum (wife) I do want a wedding but since she is against the idea of you doing it how about I arrange our wedding?". Azlaan said shocking everyone,"What?. I can't do it?. I am pretty sure it was said that the male does the spending anyway. I would love to do it".
"Sometimes I feel like I married someone crazy". She mumbles to herself, "We are leaving then".
"Will you at least be here for your sister wedding?". Her father asked hurriedly
She sighs, "Yes".
With that, she walks out of his office with her husband.
"What's with you wanting to spend the money?". She asked curiously
"Arey Jaan-E-Maan ek toh shaadi hai hamari ab us ki khushi toh banti hai". He said smiling, "Aur yeh ki ap wasae bhi hamari zimaadari hain toh ap k liye jo bhi karna hai woh sub hamara farz hai bus ab". (My heart, we will have one wedding and we are meant to celebrate it) (And that you are my responsibility and I will do everything that needed to be done for you)
"Yeh bimaari toh bohat agay chali gai hai, bhai". She said shaking her head as she enters into the elevator (Your sickness has went too far)
"Maine pehle bhi kaha tha mai bhai nahi huin". He said fake annoyed (I told you before I am not your brother)
"Maine tumhae kub bola?". She asked confused (when did I call you that)
"Kuch nahi ho sakta is larki ka". He said softly (Nothing can be done about her)
The moment they exit the building they were faced by the man who launched the attack on that party.
The mafia king.
His father's brother- Ali.
And also,
"Father". Azlaan said plainly

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
