watches her every move and every move brings him near to think that he might have lost her by now. Three years that went by maybe his chance went by too. That one year those few moments where it was just them, that felt so right to pass all these three years in maybe he had lost her now.
He looks at her leaving with Hira looking at everyone who had done her wrong some crying and some silent just like every other time because they couldn't speak after they have left her all alone.
After hearing her he understands many things that were not clear as she chooses three years back to not say a word and just leave probably she hasn't realised much then and were just hurt.
He understands that her family was indeed manipulative in some ways. Although they give speeches and have a prominent influence in the world that is all for the show. He remembers the time he called her family when she fainted for the second time because he thought that was for the best. Since she have spend more time with them they might be able to provide her more comfort.
The only person who did actually looked worried was her grandfather and father everyone else looked like they didn't wish to be there but had to just like his own family. No one wanted to stay that day when she fainted and was brought there but the way event folds they did stay for the show.
Mostly to enjoy her breakdown.
He remembers how much she had cried for her friend who he knows she considers her younger brother when she had to stitch his nerve to save his hand but that only resulted in his hand to heal not completely which meant he couldn't use his potential to be a surgeon. He never dreamt much but now that he does he understands how scary not being able to achieve it can break you.
"I am sick of all of you". He said running out of the door not wanting to have the same regret again
He walks out of the door to find her retreating figure.
"Mahjabeen". He yelled distressed as his voice filled with sorrow and nervousness of being separated again
She stopped turning around as her hair flies with her as she looks at him standing there looking at her intently but not how he used to look at her, no, this looks very different.
She looks down at her laptop because she has an important surgery tomorrow and she needs to study. She has been studying every aspect for the past five or more hours as she came back early. Her glasses stay on her face and her hair in a bun with her wearing her favourite night suit sitting in the lounge because his parents were sleeping.
Omar opens the door entering inside quietly after finishing his work not wanting to disturb anyone sleep. But he heard the sound coming from the lounge as he enters he finds her sitting crisscross with her head on the table and eyes closed with her breathing even out.
He shakes his head smiling at her cute face because those glasses always look so good on her like when he had seen her with Aliya a few times. He walks inside the lounge forgetting that he had a very tiring day watching her face somehow take that away.
A smile plastered on his face as he sits on the carpet beside her placing his head on the table watching her intently. It's his favourite hobby now to look at her like this especially when she wasn't looking. It amazes him how she can look so beautiful in this Mickey mouse suit she always loves to wear.

He finds her dark circle under her eyes and when he admire her love for her career sometimes he doesn't like that she didn't pay attention to herself. He always follows her when he will take random days off for no reason from his office when he comes to know that she has a day off too then he will notice how she will without a pause keeps studying- and in the process, she will neglect her food and everything.
He is sure she hasn't had any food.
Unconsciously he moves his hand over her face using his finger to trace her dark circle making him frown. She stirs in her sleep feeling his cold fingers as she leans into him then she opens her eyes adjusting them to find his beautiful charming eyes looking at her deeply that have her gulped.
His eyes were soft and filled with affection for her that she has found so many times.
"Why can't you take care of your health, Mahjabeen?. It worries me so much". He said softly frowning
She moves her hand removing his frown lines grinning as she moves away.
"Don't look at me like that". She said blushing moving back
He leans closer, "Like what?".
"L-Like that. You know". She said playing with her fingers nervously
He chuckles.
She turns around remembers their moment as she quickly enters inside the car not wanting to deal with this at the moment.
"Are you ok?". Hira asked as she starts her car
She sighs leaning back, "I want to go to Ibrahim house".
"Ok. But are you ok?". Hira asked concerned
She nodded, "It took me time but I guess I realised everything. They are good for the world but inside they stay conservative".
The next day she went to check in her work at hospital meeting everyone who was as cheerful as her to have her.
"How did Arshad grew so well?. I was so worried when he went away after 4 months his daughter was born and those few times he did come back only to meet his family with no updates and today he is such a grown man I can barely recognise him". Saqib said as they sit for lunch in one of the nearby restaurants
She chuckles, "It was hard. When he came he was depressed, didn't spoke much and stayed to himself. I let him be and tried to talk to him at the same time. It was when Captain Ibrahim came back to base after his mission that he met Arshad. Then he helped him understand that he was young and strong enough to change his dream. It took him a few months but once he had a direction he went on it".
"What about Capital Ibrahim?". Hira asked curiously
She inwardly smiles watching her friend action
"What about him?". She asked shrugging wanting to tease her
"N-Nothing. I just mean how did you meet and all?". Hira said nervously chuckling
Saqib and Amina looked at her amused.
"I was introduced by our team leader at the base then we just clicked especially because of Arshad. It was because the Major that is his father always used to adore me like his daughter making sure I was good and asking Ibrahim to take care of me. His father invited me many times when his mother used to visit and his mother was a truly strong woman who helped me understand things and made me this strong". She explained smiling at all the lectures she got
"You will join us?. We were seriously exhausted when you went away". Saqib said

She nodded enthusiastically, "I will be joining by the end of this week. I will leave now I have to go to Ibrahim place".
With final goodbye to Saqib, she insisted Hira come with her who looks pale like sheet when they stand in front of his house. She hides her chuckle watching her scared face and her playing with her fingers. She steps back a little before the door opens.
"Hira?". Ibrahim asked watching her confused yet amazed
"Ah, yeah, it's me". Hira said stupidly wanting to hit herself right then
He folds his hand over his chest leaning on the door, "Yeah, I can see".
She can feel the teasing in his voice, "Right".
Ibrahim hides his smile, "So, you want to stand there all day all alone?. Or are you going to tell me why you are here?".
"Oh! We are here. Amina dragged me I didn't want to-". Hira started nervous wreck
"So, you didn't want to come here. Why?". Ibrahim asked sobering himself
"No! That's not what I meant". Hira said hurriedly, "I didn't want to impose myself because I don't know anyone here".
"You won't be imposing". Ibrahim said nodding for her to walk inside and she did
Amina came out of her hiding grinning at Ibrahim, "You like her".
Ibrahim looks at her smiling nodding, "I do".
"Great! That's is exactly why I am here. You better treat my friend well or I will behead you". She warned walking inside with a mission
The next day she went out of Ibrahim house to the nearby library to her new hobby of reading various books she finds interesting there. She used to always read all the medical books before now she allows her mind to wonders around different stories that connect to her at some point.
'I believe forgiveness is the best form of love in any relationship. It takes a strong person to apologise and even a strong person to forgive'.
She sits with the book in her hands thinking about the words that she just read. Sure forgiveness is all the matter of setting yourself free and not allow the cracks to remain open only to bleed all the time. It's hard- very hard to forgive one who did you wrong and at times hating remains the best option, for now, it was her only option.
She moves to hold her coffee only to find it empty groaning when another coffee comes in her sight. Her eyes follow the hand to put a face on it only to find- Omar. He moves the chair sitting beside her leaving the coffee in her hand. She comprehends if she really needs or wants this coffee and she did so she starts to drink it going back to her book.
"I honestly don't know what to say". Omar said after a good half hour
She looks at him to find his face in sadness, "What?".
"I don't know what to say to you, Amina. After everything, I just don't know. I know a simple sorry won't be enough". He said stressed because he has been thinking all these ways to apologise which now seem useless
"I think I realised words can be said without any true intentions of changing however actions can change a lot more". She said standing to leave
She starts to walk away with her every step heavier than the previous for some reason.
"MahJabeen". She heard his voice as he she exits the library
She turned around looking at him blankly while he had some determination passes through his eyes and his body looks more lively.
"I am going to win you back". He said grinning like a fool and few people turn to look at them
She shakes her head immediately running away from the place into her car driving away. She received a message then her phone starts to go off with messages. She parks her car on the side to find 100 messages from a very panic Hira and 1 message from Ibrahim.
She rolls her eyes knowing what they were about. Hira was stressing because Amina has talked to Ibrahim's parents about their marriage and they went to her orphanage to asks the person who raised her for her hand. While Ibrahim one message is about a thank you and they were in the orphanage.
"HOW CAN YOU NOT TELL ME?". Hira screamed as soon as she answers her call
She chuckles leaning back, "You have done so much for me I was meant to do the least. Knowing you- you will probably never take a step so I did it. Now, be good and think about what you want before you answer. Ibrahim will sure ask you separately not wanting you to be pressured or think it's in hurry and I want you to think it through as well, ok?".
The next week she hasn't had any encounters with Omar beside the messages he sends her morning, evening and at night asking about her and sometimes speaking about his own day. Also, the flowers that she had received from him every morning and she was pleasantly surprised that he knows about her favourite- lilies.
She wasn't even sure if her family knows. Thinking about her family she heard they weren't doing well financially since her father and grandfather decided to move away from the house leaving the company to her other uncle and sons which aren't able to handle it well enough. She knows her father withdrew himself long back. She heard about the constant fights between Huzaifa and Aliya.
She wonders briefly if she should speak to her father just to know his part since she never truly heard from any of them. Their actions had cut so deep into her that when she takes a step towards them she takes many backs.
"If you want to, go for it". She heard Omar voice from behind her
She didn't turn this time because she feels her heartbeat rapidly in her chest like it always used to years back and this whole week when he was away from her eyes she realised that those three years she wasn't able to see everyone there was only few she missed - her hospital colleagues especially Hira and then it was him. She has thought about him so much.
"It's not easy". She said looking at the house where her father and grandfather are in
"I know it isn't. But you need peace and you have to do this for it". He said standing beside her, "How about you go in quickly and I will be right here waiting for you".
"I thought you didn't like to wait for me". She said thinking about their reception when he snapped at her
She watches him wince but he smiled nevertheless, "No, I like waiting for you. Go on".
She can feel his voice was shaking but he managed to choke those words out. She turns around not wanting to look at him anymore entering the house looking at how small it was considering to her previous one. She walks inside to find them in the garden sitting together looking in spaces.
"Beta". She heard them both say
She sits on the opposite bench nodding at them lightly as she clenches her hands on the side.
"Why?". She asked after a moment not wanting to extend her stay
"We don't have reasons like you want, Amina. I always thought my ways of loving you was protecting and keeping you in check and you always did what I wanted. I think when I heard Aliya's words it showed that in the end you did whatever you wanted and I had no idea about you which your mother- if she was here would have known. I felt like a failure and I knew the way Aliya put it in words your character will not be protected for too long. A girl character is very fragile even when we don't want it to- that's the reality that stays behind the curtains. When Omar offered I liked the boy anyway because we did business before so I agreed". Her father explained
"You didn't speak to me". She accused angrily
"Not all decisions that the elder make are going to be 100% right. I loved you and did everything. But I was ashamed when I didn't even stop to fight for you instead send you off. None of us could have faced you after that and I guess the more time we take the worse it gets". Her father said looking down
"I don't know if I will ever forgive you to meet you but if I do forgive you it will be only to find myself some peace". She said walking away as she tries to ignore the pain on their faces,"I have my own family now".
She walks out of the door immediately leaning against the wall as she takes a deep breath.
"Wasn't good?". She heard his voice
"Omar, leave me alone". She said stern walking towards her car
"I will leave you only for now. I am not leaving ever, Amina. I hope you know that". He said softly
"Why?. Why are you so into getting me now?. Why not three years back?". She yelled as she feels anger burning into her
She finds Arshad standing in a defensive position obviously because he feels her distress not wanting harm to be near her.
She watches Omar going mute and the pain in his eyes somehow reflects the pain that she holds. She shakes her head entering inside her car leaving from there.
"He is your husband?". Arshad asked once they leave
She nodded.
"Did he hurt you?". He asked softly
She turns to him frowning, "What?".
"Come on". Arshad said asking her to get down as they walk the path they walked three years back
She halts once she finds the peaceful greenery around her sitting on the ground.
"What do you mean?". She asked again
Arshad looks in spaces, "I know your family hurt you. I heard about your interaction when you came back. But while you talked about everyone hurting you I never heard you accusing Omar of it".
"So?". She asked confused
"My question is when you think about everyone else you think of all the wrong they have done then do you think about all the wrong Omar had done when you look at him?. When you really looked at him for the first time was all wrong he did came to your mind?. Or are you keeping him at hand distance because he is involved with the people who were the cause of your pain?. Or perhaps because you have feelings for him you are scared to show?". Arshad said looking directly at her
She stilled.
For the moment her heart stilled too she has never thought about it. She didn't think of any of Omar wrongdoing when she saw him that day instead his eyes disturbed her. Was she punishing him because of Aliya?. Not sure. Or because of the last rejection, she felt from him?.
"He rejected me". She voiced after a long moment
"Maybe he didn't. Maybe you expected him to be same as everyone else and you took his words differently". Arshad said softly, "It's hard to love and even harder not to. Don't waste your chance at it".
The next month Hira marriage was in process as Ibrahim has no idea when he will be called back in the army so he wanted to do it quickly and she knows that was a lie he just wanted Hira to be his wife. Obviously, she has teased him about it but him being him didn't agree to her.
Hira was glowing to say at least. With having no parents, raised by an orphanage and to work through the world on her own. She has suffered enough and she truly deserves a man like Ibrahim who will heal her heart.
"But the dresses you are choosing for me looks that of a bride. I don't want to look like I am competing with you. Can you tell her Ammu?". She whined tiredly
"You know what?". Hira said narrowing her eyes, "We already have your measurement so go away. I will buy and you will wear".
"Ammu". She whines
"My daughter is right. Now go away". Ibrahim mother said smiling patting her shoulders
She groans leaving the duo to walk outside towards the shops to look at things if she finds something to gift the couple. She halts when she finds a beautiful pair of earrings. She walks inside to look at them closely.
"They look good". She heard his voice
She shrieks looking at him wide-eyed and the frowns because she thought he was at work.
"I am real". He said amused, "You can touch me and find yourself".
She bites her lips looking away, "Yeah. I know. I just thought you were at work".
"I came to a meeting here. I saw you walking so I asked my secretary to cancel the meetings". He said shrugging nonchalantly
"That will result in losses". She said teasing
"It will be worth it". He replied smiling making her eyes widen
