that if one wasn't doing it then it is passed to another.
She has felt it.
Her days were never-ending as much as she wishes. The night she spent crying over her lost love. She wasn't sure why she was given this faith?. What was the end?.
It's been exactly 5 months since she was wedded to her first husband older brother-Olasyar. It wasn't her decision to take it was his mother decision who had begged her to say yes. How can she not?. Her first husband loved his mother the most how can she decline?.
Maybe she was selfish because her husband died just a few months and for the sake of shelter she had married his older brother. She was the dirtiest person.
That is what she was told and she believed.
If a person is told a lie over and over and over again how long before he actually starts to believe?. Not too long.
Her family who she had grown with who made her a woman that her first husband loved turn their back on her just when she was the most broken. The day they came to know about her husband death they have slapped her- she was never ever hit once in her life and that slapped rang through her body. They have called her name and told her that she can either stay here and die or she can go anywhere but never to come back to their home (her family home).
Not once in all these months after that, they have asked her how she was or what she was doing. Not once someone comforted her.
They all cried.
She never cried. She just listened as if they were all crying for her. They did cry saying they pity her but why can't anyone say they feel her?.
Then her second husband had vanished on the first day of their wedding saying he had an important conference that needed him leaving his bride covered in a red dress waiting for him.
It doesn't matter to her.
"Beta, come we will have breakfast". His mother said smiling
She nodded placing the scarf over her head as his father's aunt started to live with them it was getting suffocating. She has never imagined she would be humiliated and brought down like this.
But she was.
She walks downstairs hearing his aunt talking to her daughter and son who were still not married. The daughter- Sumiaya was 30 and said that she needed a career to have an upper hand on her husband and son- Rizwan 35 was not married because he was still looking for a woman of his standard.
Her feet shakes when she finds his eyes following her to the kitchen which she ran into.
"How are you this morning, beautiful?". Rizwan asked smirking
Her hands shake as she tries to pour the tea in the cup but she couldn't. He held her hand which she jerks making the tea fall on her hand and floor and some on him.
Everyone ran inside looking at them shocked.

"Are you crazy?. Look what you did to my son". His aunt said slapping her as she takes her son away
"You are just trash". Sumaiya said angrily following them
Her feet buckle up as she falls on the ground with her burning hand which no one tends to. She feels a cool patch on her hand to find his mother smiling at her.
"Why did you do it?". She asked crying
"It was all Lord will, beta. I was just his servant that united you two". His mother said kissing her forehead, "Come on, we need to work or she will shout again".
She nodded going to her work not caring about the burn on her hand. She cleans the whole house and does all the chores. Just as she was about to put the laundry she finds him standing in front of her. Her heart leaps out of her chest as she finds him making the laundry fall down.
"It's not good manners to behave like this to me. You know I don't like it". He said coming closer to her
"Beta". His mother called from her room
She immediately turns around running to her room locking the door.
"Jee?". She asked opening her eyes after a moment moving to the bed she was on
"Olasyar's call". His mother said smiling, "He wasn't listening to me when I asked him to come maybe he will listen to you".
She holds the phone in her shaking hand placing it on her ear but nothing but the sound of his breathing was heard. No words leave her mouth as she had not spoken to him ever. Besides the words of yes exchanged that bid them nothing else.
But wasn't those words the most powerful?.
"Do you miss Calligraphy?". He asked
Her breathing hitched as she heard his voice that course through her. It was dark and alluring like a child who listens to a lullaby to sleep, the peace he felt while listening to that sound that is powerful enough to have him sleep.
No words.
The call ended.
"What did he say?". His mother asked holding her hand
"He asked if I missed Calligraphy". She whispers, "What do I do, Ammi?. I did what you asked what more can I do to end this suffering?".
"Here". His mother said forwarding her phone, "I have called him from your number so you have his number. He is your armour, beta. He is your protector. He is your husband. Why are you angry at him?. What has he done?".
"He married his brother's wife". She said her voice hoarse
"Dead brother". His mother corrected, "You were his brother belonging how can he let you go like that?. He had done what his mother and brother asked him. Why can't you do what my Mustafa had asked from you?".
She left the room doing the rest of the work hiding in her room. She locked the door hiding under her bed. His aunt and her daughter were not home. His mother had taken medicine so she was sleeping.

Around midnight she heard the sharp knock that had her breathing stuck in her throat. She knows who it is and what he is here for. She shakes her head praying to her Lord for safety. To provide her help and to guide her through.
Do you miss calligraphy?.
He is your armour. Your protector.
Ask him to come maybe he will listen to you.
Why are you angry at him?.
Ask him.
Protector.
Armour.
Mustafa's asked you.
Your husband.
"Olasyar. Help me, please. Please come back home. Please, I need you". She cried as he answered her call on the first ring
She heard the door unlocking and her whole body shakes in fear as the phone fall from her hand.
"Beautiful. Come on, this is no time to hide. Look I have to come to help your pain since your husband never fulfilled it. Let me help your desires". She heard his maniac voice say
"Please, come back, please". She begged

Olasyar walks through the dark forest again as he had been since the day he had agreed to marry her. This time he doesn't even see the garden that he saw the first time.
"Bhai, why did you do this?". Mustafa cried falling to the ground, "Why did you break your promise?. Why did you hurt my Noor?. Why?".
He looks at him with his eyes pleading against the accusation that was thrown at him.
"Do you know how much she cries?. Do you know her pain?. Did you ever look at her once?". His brother cried banging his hand on the cold ground
"Don't do that. You will hurt yourself". He cried
"I am hurting. I am hurting for months, Bhai. I am hurting because she is hurting. Why did you do this?. Why?". Mustafa asked, "Why didn't you looked at her once?".
"How can I?. She was your bride. She was your happiness. How can I?". He asked
"She was, bhai was. She was my happiness and maybe she is my happiness. But she isn't anymore. She is your wife. She is your honour to protect. She might have shared a small part with me but now she is yours for life. Why can't you accept it?. Why can't you accept her?. Not even for me. Not even that heart which has her name on it even before me?. Why are you wasting this time in thoughts that don't matter?. I am gone and my peace resides in her who is in pain. Why can't you let me leave in peace?. Help me, help her". Mustafa said as he vanishes once again
*****
"How can you do this to your husband's cousin?". His aunt screamed slapping her
"Woman like her should be humiliated and stoned in front of everyone". Sumaiya said angrily
"Yes, you are right. I will kill her for seducing my son". His aunt said dragging her by her hair
His aunt drags her throwing her out of the door when someone holds her fragile broken body before she hit the ground.
"What is happening here?". His voice darkened
She shivers in his hand but then lean into him hiding. Maybe because she was breaking down and she wanted to be collected.
"She is a slut. She seduced-". His aunt started
"Not a word against my wife, aunt. Not a single word". He said angrily as his body shakes in anger instinctively his hand wraps around her shaking body pulling her more into him
His mother came running to him to pull her body away from him but he didn't allow it. If she was taken from him he will kill the man who had thought of touching his wife.
"Your son?". He asked spitefully, "Is a 35 years old man who should be sensible enough to not look at his cousin's wife under his roof. He is not a small child who doesn't know the wrong from right. He is the one who had thought wrong of my wife and he will pay for it for a very long time and I will make him. He dares touch what's mine and then humiliates her. You all did that to my mother first and I am no blind who can't see you doing the same to my wife. I will make each one of you pay for it".
He watches them cowered back in fear as he calls his guard to take them to the police station to sue them for molestation, blackmailing and assault.
His mother was enough to testify against them. She did it for the sake of her daughter-in-law who had faced the worse because of her who wasn't strong enough to help her.
He enters the room where she is sitting on the bed looking down at her hand in her lap which still shakes. He moves closer to her with the glass of water in his hand as he sits in front of her.
"Maisa". He said softly yet she jerks
She looks at him as fears visible in her eyes," Will he come again?".
He clenches his fist closing his eyes to take a deep breath, "No, he will not come again. I am here now and he will never ever reach you".
"You weren't here before". She snapped
He was taken back by her words but they pierce through his heart.
"I wasn't". He agreed guilty
"You weren't here the whole time he threatened me every night". She said anger filling her senses
He closes his eyes biting the inside of his cheeks, "I wasn't".
"You were never here". She said breathing heavily, "Why are you here now?".
"I wasn't here for a long time when I should have been I am sorry, Maisa. But I promise now that I am here I will make everything right for you. I am not going to run away from anything. I am here to stay and here to repent. I am here for you and no one else. I am here for my wife". He said walking away
