case for the next day she had to go court for but she couldn't do a thing. She wasn't sure about her answer to him. She had walked away back then but all she could think of what to do next.
All she knows was she cannot let Lamar be under someone else and that what her heart says she follows.
"I will marry you". She said softly
That was how they were tied in a pure bond with so much to it.
"How can you marry a girl I always hated?. How can you do this to me?". His mother yelled angrily
Then she proceeds to slap Madiha on her face but was stopped by Hussain standing in front of her.
"Ammi (mother), it wasn't her fault. She is my wife and I want you to respect her". He said stern
"She will never be my daughter in law". His mother yelled walking away
"Do you want us to move from this house?". He asked watching her cradle Lamar in her hands
She frowns, "No, I don't want that. They are old and our parents need us more than ever".
He looked at her amazed by her reply he remembers his first wife always wanted to leave this house and have him convinced about the privacy they needed so much that they left without a care.
The next few days, they both were not sure where the relationship needed to be at. He noticed how precious her smile is and how easy it was for her to smile. The love in her for Lamar was what pulled his heartstring towards her. It was unbelievable how much he was drawn to her in a short amount of time and how he had never actually seen her in years of living under one roof or maybe he never paid this much attention.
She was always here somewhere when he would leave for a day with his friend he would find her working on something. Or when he would come back she would be sitting in the lounge with books all around her. When he brought his first wife to introduce she was there in the back watching everything. She was always there simply watching but he was blinded to see.
"We have a party to attend today. Is that ok with you?". He asked and she nodded
She chooses a black dress and walked down to where he was waiting for her. To say each time now she looks at him her heart skip a beat. She had noticed him a little too much than needed. Maybe, even want to be with him, it is strange how she wanted to be with him and how he came to her.
She smiles to herself.
"What is my wife smiling?". She heard him say
Light blush fill her cheeks as she whispers softly, "Nothing".
"You look beautiful". He said truthfully looking at her standing in front of him causing his heart to speed up
He holds her hand walking towards his car and to the venue. As they stopped at the venue he holds her hand again in his hand a little tight this time because of the eyes on her he didn't like.
"You don't know about your own wife?". His friend said
He frowns shaking his head.
"Well, she is the one who saved Hamid's marriage. She was the lawyer for their divorce but she showed them something that changed their mind and now they are actually living happily". His friend explained, "She is a gem so you better treat her like one".

He smiled watching his wife playing with his daughter happily. In these moments, he felt the most for her. She was pure not how his mother tainted her. Even after watching and hearing all sorts of things from his own mother she had never said a word and do everything for her.
"Is it still hurting?". She asked worriedly rubbing the balm on his knees covering it with the bandage
He smiled even in pain, "I am sure it will be fine soon".
She nodded still massaging it for him. At times when his knees act because of an injury, he had suffered before he tends to be angry at everything. But, she would stay with him until the pain vanishes keeping him calm.
"What is she doing here?". He asked angrily looking at the woman who breaks his heart
"She is the rightful person to stand beside you, beta (son)". His mother said, "Plus, she had been apologising to you since she came here".
He looked at his first wife (Humaira) standing there with fake tears, "You might think she is the right person but for me, Madiha will always be right".
"You cannot even do the simple task?". Humaira yelled looking at the spilt milk on the counter
It wasn't Madiha's fault she was doing everything right until she snatched it from her making it drop everywhere and even some at her burning her a little.
"What happened?". Hussain asked coming in looking at his wife (Madiha)
Madiha looked at him with tears filled eyes, "Nothing. I am fine".
"Of course she is. Look what she did". Hunaira said pointing to the mess
"I will clean it". Madiha said smiling tightly
"No, we have house worker who can do it. You are coming with me". He said taking her hand pulling her with him and the turned back, "Stay away from her, Humaira".
"You should have told me it hurt, Madiha". He said blowing on the ointment he put on her burn mark
"It doesn't hurt". She insisted smiling
He narrowed his eyes, "You are my wife, Madiha, you don't have to hide your pain. We are together to share each other pain, happiness and burden. Don't hide your pain from me".
She smiles.
"Are you happy now?". She said holding Lamar in her hand making her giggle
She had been trying to calm her down but she was fussy to do that. But, once she calms down she would actually be happy which never understand but love anyway
"You are definitely happy now". She said kissing her forehead
"Why are you holding my child?". Humaira asked angrily
Her eyes turned to her angry ones making her scared but she holds Lamar closer to her in a protective manner.
"Because, I am her mother". She said firm
"Oh really?. I can take her away whenever I want. Give her back to me". Humaira said pulling Lamar hand-making her cry
"Don't pull her. You are hurting her". She said pushing Humaira away patting Lamar back
"Why are you sitting here alone?". He asked after trying to find his wife for a long time
She turned towards him hugging him tightly, "Are you crying, Madiha?".
She nodded pulling back and he used the back of his hand to clear her tears.
"She took Lamar from me and she had been crying for hours". She explained
Anger courses through his vein as he holds her hand walking towards Humaira's bedroom knocking. The door opened and he pushed Humaira walking inside to find his child all alone at the corner of the room by herself.

Madiha free her hand running to the weeping child as she saw her holding her in her hand.
"What are you doing, Hussain?. She is not her child". Humaira said angrily taking a step towards Madiha
But Hussain stood beside her taking Lamar from her hands into his.
"I don't know why you suddenly want to be a mother when the day she was born you ran away with another man. I don't ever want you near my child". He said angrily taking Madiha hand walking away
"She will start walking soon". Madiha said excitedly
"Pretty sure she will say my name first". He said smirking
She narrowed her eyes, "There is no way that is happening. She will say mine. Right, Lamar?".
Lamar giggles looking at them and they smiled.
"What is between you and my mother?". He asked holding her hand drawing meaningless circle
She sighs, "After my parents died in an accident I was left at your door since they were the closest family. Your mother never liked that she had to take care of me and so she remained like that".
"That's the nicest way to put it". He said sadly, "But, not anymore, you don't have to worry about this anymore ok?".
She nodded smiling.
She had never held onto the painful memories anyway. But, the day she had last dark thoughts were before she held Lamar in her hands. After holding her everything she ever had in her heart was gone and she was a different her. A better her.
"Why will I do this work?. There are so many servants make them do it". Humaira said looking at the utensils
"Madiha do this work too. You have to do it". His mother said
Humaira narrowed her eyes at his mother, "Don't compare me to that garbage".
"Madiha, do this work". His mother said
She nodded smiling passing sleeping Lamar to her. She did the work in a few minutes taking Lamar back to her room. She heard the phone ringing and watched as her husband called her.
He had been away for a week for a trip for work. She had been handling everything and he would call her every now and then.
"You look very tired". He said observing her dull features
She nodded laying down Lamar and then herself beside her, "I had a long day. It was exhausting".
"Take some rest, my love. I will call you later. I love you". He said smiling watching her eyes already closing
He loves to video call her especially when she would sleep in between them. Watching her sleep peacefully is one of the best things he had witnessed. He missed watching her every morning in his arms.
"FIRE". Someone yelled causing her to jump in fright.
She watched as her room was lit with fire and smoke. She quickly holds a blanket wrapping it around herself and then holding crying Lamar in her hand hiding her in her chest as she ran out of the house.
She managed to bring Lamar out and looked around for everyone else. When she didn't find her mother in law she quickly hands Lamar to a trustworthy caretaker running back inside.
He was sleeping when he received the call of his house on fire. All the came to his mind was his father, mother, wife and child safety. He only heard everyone was taken to hospital but he had no information after that. He cancelled his important trip booking the first ticket back home.
He prayed to his lord begging him to save them. His heart weeps so did his eyes from time to time as he imagined anyone of his family being hurt. He already had police on the case as his house wasn't that unsafe to start such huge fire.
He walked through the door asking the receptionist as direct him towards the emergency room. He looked at his father, mother and Lamar in her hands all looking tensed.
"Ammi (mother)?". He said scared of what came next
His mother eyes looked at him and the answer was clear in them.
His love was in that room fighting for her life.
If he had ever been in a devastating situation before today has to be the most devastating of them all.
He looked down at the small child in his hands looking at the door in front of him wishing there was some power or anything that could tell him if his life in there was doing good.
He diverted his mind to Lamar who was now a year old and remember the time she had taken her first steps. The tears of happiness in both his and her eyes were so beautiful. Her first words were "Ammi" which his wife had made sure she says first.
Though he looked offended then but having her smile brightly at her first word made his heart flutter.
"Sir, your first wife was the reason for this fire. She had run away from the house after starting it. Your second wife went inside to save your mother who was stuck inside but she inhaled too much smoke that she fainted". Police said
"I want that woman behind the bar before my wife wakes up". He said angrily
"I never thought she will save me". His mother confessed looking at his wife who was still unconscious
He chuckles dryly holding his wife's hand, "You never give her a chance".
Lamar cried in his hands after a week of visiting his sleeping wife. Lamar would always calm down in her presence but she seems restless like her father to have her mother (Madiha) open her eyes and speak to them.
Lamar cried for some time until they heard the sound they had hope for a long time, "Lamar".
Once the doctor cleared that she was doing good and could be taken home in a few days was when he entered back with their daughter. His heart clenched looking at her smiling at him.
"What's wrong?". She asked holding Lamar to her chest kissing her forehead
"You scared me". He whispers softly
She smiled, "I know but it needed to be done right?".
He nodded.
"I swear Madiha you have to stop helping people". He said irritated because she was late again for their date
She shrugged, "That is not going to happen so you have to have another plan".
"I cannot believe after two years you will not change". He said smiling
"That's why you like me". She said grinning patting her round stomach
They were going to be blessed.
But, their life was blessed before that, his mother changed for good and started being better towards his wife. His divorce was filed but Madiha refused to play a part in it so he had appointed another lawyer having his first wife out of his life forever. He already had given all rights and his heart to Madiha so nothing else mattered.
Madiha was able to overcome her fears and pain by the help of a person she had lived with for years and never said a word to. She allowed her pain to show at times to her husband who would always hold her for hours filling the emptiness inside of her with his warmth.
That was them.
