as he saw sitting down in the deep hole with her legs to her chest.
"Hayaat?". He said worried wanting her to say that she was fine
She raised her head his heart stopped when he saw the redness in her eyes. Even if the rain had not made her tears visible her eyes say otherwise.
It was painful.
He had never seen her like this. He bends down wanting to feel her near him and comfort her to his heart content. He forwards his hand to her and she placed her tiny hand in his holding tightly as he pulled her out.
Just as she reached him he hugged her tightly wrapping his arms around her vulnerable body. She wrapped her arms around him placing her head in his chest as she cried her pain away.
For the longest time, they sat under the pouring rain holding each other and feeling one another. The comfort they both felt seems surreal to them but they enjoyed it.
"I-I thought I was there again". She cried
He tightened his hold around her, "Where?".
She stiffened.
He didn't ask her anything after that. They stayed quiet, well, she did while he tries to cheer her. It was of no use she didn't speak a word and gone mute which he didn't like. She was already ready for his head and now he actually misses it.
"Are you crazy, Zahid?. What are you thinking?". He asked himself, "I don't care. I don't care. I-".
"Are you sure you don't have to go to a doctor?". She asked hiding her smile
He turned around looking at her happy that she was back, "There is my spitfire".
She grinned cute-ly, "Aww, you missed me".
"Pfft. Are you crazy?". He said hiding his smile and a little heart flutter at her smile
"Hayaat, give me the report, now". He said glaring at her
She smirks, "Get it".
"That's it". He said running towards her but she ran away
They ran in a circle inside the small cabin laughing together. Until, she did hand him the report because it was important.
Days passed, they were growing closer without knowing.
"You don't like chocolate, Zahid". She said rolling her eyes as she sat on the couch
Zahid looked at her coffee scrunching his nose passing it back to her, "Drink your disgusting coffee".
She laughed, "Adding chocolate does not make it disgusting. Having a pure black one is absolutely disgusting".
"No, that is the best coffee". He argued
"Sure. Having tasteless things is absolutely amazing". She said chuckling
"Did I ever tell you how annoying you are?". He asked genuinely
"In a day, about 100 times. Why?". She said
"Because you are". He said crossing his arms over his chest

She laughed taking the hidden coffee cup in her hand, "I guess this coffee is going to be wasted".
Zahid eyes widen as he looked at her, "No, don't. Come on, you are not like that".
"I am not?. I just heard I am the most annoying person". She said shrugging
"No, no, you are the most amazing person to live". Zahid said with a tight smile
"What are you doing here?. After eveything, I thought you wouldn't stay here". Amna said smirking
Hayaat rolled her eyes, "Someone responsible had to be here".
She heard gasps from her employees around obviously because Amna was no ordinary she was the daughter of the owner.
"What did you say?". Amna said angrily taking a threatening step closer to her
But, she was pulled back by someone. Hayaat eyes meet the eyes of Usman looking at her.
"Don't". Usman said standing beside Amna holding her back
She feels Zahid moving closer to her in a protective manner.
"She is the one who started it". Amna yelled angrily
Hayaat chuckle, "By every mean, believe her you don't exactly believe anyone with evidence anyway. No, you destroy them".
"Hayaat". Her manager said pleading
Hayaat walked away from the place not wanting to start anything.
"Please listen to me-". Usman started pulling her to the side
Zahid looked at where they both stand in front of each other. Anger filled his senses looking at them. Everyone had gone for lunch so no one was present here. He saw Amna joining them.
"What is your problem?". Amna said angrily taking a step near her
Zahid pulled her behind him not wanting her to be hurt. Usman watched the move as anger filled him.
"Who is he?". Usman asked angrily
Hayaat stands beside Zahid feeling a little stronger.
"Why should I tell you that?". She yelled, "I am sick of you coming here looking at me like that (guilty) playing innocent in front of me. You are not innocent Usman you are same as them. So, don't even for a second think I will ever forgive you or even have you in my life".
Zahid stayed quiet hearing her screaming in frustration a little confused but a lot worried for her. He pulled her with him when he saw both Amna and Usman faces pale. Just as they were away from everyone eyes he pulled her into a tight hug.
"It's ok, Hayaat". He said softly
"It's so hard". She mumbles lowly
"I am here". He said
They went home and she hadn't spoken a word. He wanted to ask so much. She looked so broken.
"I am scared, Zahid. Please, help me". She cried
His eyes flew open as his heart thunders loudly.
He moved the sheets off him running out of the door towards her room. He opened the door hearing her cries he walked closer to her bed looking at her sleeping but struggling.

"Hayaat". He said holding her hand sitting on the bedside
He saw her opening her eyes tears filled in them as she wipes them away looking at him.
She frowns, "Zahid?".
"Yes, it's me. You were having a nightmare". He said softly brushing her hair away from her face
"Oh". Was all she said
"Do you want to talk about it?". He asked cautiously
She sighs nodding, "You remember Amna right?". He nodded as she continued, "My parents and I were in a mall to celebrate my dad being promoted. While we were cutting the cake, the building shakes a little everyone told us it was just a small earthquake so we remained still for a minute then started enjoying. But, then in a few seconds, the whole complex was dust. The building falls because of poor engineering and for the next three days, I was stuck under a piece that fell. On the fourth day, even my voice was gone and I just waited for death but someone found me. They sent me to the hospital called my family than when I wake up I came to know my family didn't survive. My external family somehow changed the will taking every last bit of property from me and just kept me in their home for points".
He held her hand tightly as she cries quietly, "Where does Amna come in this?".
"Her parents did it. It was their fault and they hide it. They blamed everyone and used the money to quiet everyone's voices". She said angrily
"Where did he come in this?". He asked not wanting to take his name his hand unconsciously tightened on her hand
"I was a quiet girl after the incident. I never did anything or speak. I was 16 when I came to know about who was behind my parent's death someone sent me the proves. I was ready to fight and he said he wanted to become my friend in that hard time so I agreed. I opened to him, told him about my parents and everything. But, I didn't know he sold himself to her parents. He betrayed me and took each and every piece of proofs I had". She explained shutting her eyes, "I was so close to punishing them but it all ended".
He stayed quiet.
"I still have nightmare and PTSD about the time I was stuck in that place". She said softly, "Could you stay with me tonight?".
He nodded laying beside her pulling her closer to his chest. He didn't need to say words to comfort her his presence had already calmed her down.
"If you put that cream on me, you are dead". She said narrowing her eyes at him
He grinned placing the cream on her cheeks and her eyes widen. That's how their food fight started and ended with laughter.
The next day, Usman came to monitor the work for the day and he had been on his feet all day. He heard her laughter and turned around watching her laughing freely with the same man from that day.
"She looks happy". He heard Amna say standing beside her
He ignored her taking a quick stride towards her almost knocking her down but Zahid pulled her away at the right moment glaring at Usman.
"Don't you have work?. Are you both here for laughing?". Usman said angrily
Zahid looked at him angrily while Hayaat just rolled her eyes, "It's lunch, Sir. Seems like doing everything for a prestige degree from outside didn't teach you much".
Usman looked at her angrily walking away while Zahid looked at her confused, "What did you mean by that?".
"Amna's parents and his parents together used them against me. They have them come to my small school and when they stole my proves they sent them both out of the country to study". She explained
"Is there any way you will hand me those reports without me having to run after you?". He said hiding his smile looking at her grinning face
She shrugged, "What's the fun in that?".
He leapt forward holding her in his arms taking the papers from her but not letting go. He looked down at her smiling.
"Who is he exactly to you?". They heard Usman asking
She sighs. Zahid looked at the man angrily tightening his hold on her.
"My husband. Happy?". She said smiling at Zahid
Zahid grinned.
"You are married?". Usman said shocked
She frowns, "Yes, I am".
"I never-". Usman started
"I don't care". She said angrily, "I told you, Usman, I don't want to see you. You have no rights to know my personal life".
"Your mood seems off". Zahid said holding her hand
"I was thinking of having ice cream". She said thoughtfully
"So, you have been thinking about ice cream?". He asked disbelief
She laughed, "No, just what flavour".
He shakes his head tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear kissing her forehead, "I will go buy the one you need just rest for some time".
She grinned at him causing his heart flutter.
She looked around from her trance waiting for her husband who had gone to bring her ice cream an hour ago but isn't back neither he was answering his calls.
She sighs.
She looked at her phone which showed a text message from an unknown number and her heart stopped.
It was him.
