like a normal person being angry. He had a temper, a bad one at that. He wasn't an angry guy, no, he was taught calm and peace but when the topic was his loved ones being hurt then there is no calmness.

The anger that courses through his veins hearing that another man or any person for that matters wanted her to surrender in front of him has him see nothing but red.

If he could go back to kill that old man he would, for her. He never imagined it to go down this dirty but then again he should have thought the worst already. But, he promised himself he won't ever judge a person or think worst of anyone after he himself judge an innocent soul wrong.

"Adil, what did you do?". His father asked pulling him to stand in front of him

"I don't know. I was just so angry after she told me how that old man wanted her". He said skipping the details

"Adil, beta (son), your wife ran away because she is scared of your anger". His mother soothing voice said softly

He knew.

He had gone behind her not wanting her to be scared of him and didn't like the fear he saw when she ran away from him. That was when he felt pure pain.

"I just- I know I scared her I didn't want her to". He mumbles tiredly

"Maybe, you should avoid anger in front of her altogether if you want to win her, little brother. Because, as I see it she is scared of even small movements from anyone and anger could be her biggest fear". His brother said

"Should I apologise?". He asked to no one in particular

"You have to work and decide what you want and how you want that, beta (son). We are here for you but you are a married man and you need to be responsible for your actions and of your behaviour". His father said patting his shoulder as he holds his wife hand walking away

"He is right. We know she is special but also hurt by her own. Why don't you sit here and think about her story placing yourself in her place so you can feel her pain?. Maybe, you would be able to understand more and then work on what to do!?". His brother suggested walking away

He sat there closing his eyes as he remembers her words which also shows her fears of things and mostly how it was watching her family in anger as that resulted in being more hurt.

His fist clenched.

He walked towards the room and towards the door she had locked herself in sliding down.

"I am sorry, Sophia, I promise I didn't wish for you to be scared of me in any way. I was just angry at that man, not you, I should have controlled myself. I am truly sorry just give me another chance to understand you. I promise I will do better and take everything slow and steady". He said hoping she heard him, "I will wait for you tomorrow to join us in breakfast".

He walked away to his room laying on the bed wide awake with worry that she might be still in there all alone and scared.

The next day, he walked downstairs looking at her closed door anxiously. Once, he stepped down he heard a few voices and walked inside the kitchen. His heart stopped, as he finds his family, working with her to cook the meal.

That was one heartwarming sight he had seen in his life.

He watched how everyone remained calm, maintain distance (especially his father and brother) while they cook along with her. He smiled greeting them and his eyes remained on her who did reply to him in a soft low voice.

Everyone, took their breakfast and he looked at his family leaving him alone with her and their food in their hands.

"What about me?". He asked

"You are married now I am not cooking you anything. Being the youngest privilege is over". His mother yelled

"Also, you were late so stand there and cook your meal or you could have had a chance to cook with my awesome daughter". His father yelled

He heard a giggle and his heart skipped a beat at the adorable sound.

"I cooked for you". She said softly

He turned towards her grinning, "Thank you, Sophia".

It's been a week since, they didn't go to their classes to adjust to the new changes. Thankfully, his mother had asked Sophia about sharing room which she had declined and they accepted it. Adil and Sophia were gradually talking he would talk to her mostly which she actually likes she had never seen a man talking so freely or even whining which she secretly likes.

She also took hold of his daily activities by his talks and do his work which he had asked her not to even his parents did but she liked doing it. Slowly, she was accepting the reality of having him as her husband.

Now, today, she stands in front of her university thinking about those times she had come here alone and face comments on her attitude. Though, the only change today was that she had Adil on her side which was comforting.

Her stepsister, had started a rumour of how Sophia had stolen her fiance from her and used her attitude to attract him to her. That had caused a major glare, name-calling and more. She had avoided everything like a plague as she used to every day. At very least, she was happy she was free from her house and wouldn't have to have feared all day about how much of beating she would get.

She noticed, Adil's house being married everyone is responsible for one another. His brother was supposed to be married in a month so his parents had stopped doing his work telling him that he needed to be responsible. The same thing was for Adil as soon as he was married he needed to learn the same dependency he had to let it go and to learn to take care of his own wife.

So, she had noticed that he was the one adding a little extra amount of food to her small amount each day. He would bring her shake, medicine, fruits and everything healthy and delicious. Though, he seems to do it invisibly she had noticed him working in Kitchen when no one is there.

She felt valuable.

Maybe, she can throw her fears of people calling her names since she had anyways heard her calling her whole life. She could try to live differently a little each day. Trying to restart at any point is never bad maybe the world is all about changing, testing and restarting.

"What you thinking about?". He said sliding beside her

She shrugged, "Life".

"That can be tough and touchy. Why not stop thinking too much and enjoying?". He suggested

"I was actually thinking something similar". She replied as he passes her a sandwich she was sure he made waking early than anyone else in the house

"Bhai's (brother) wedding is almost here I wanted to take you shopping". He said smiling

"Oh, no, that will cost a lot I will wear whatever I have". She said softly

"Not happening. You will come with me and buy whatever you like. Money is not your problem to bear". He said

She sighs, "But, I don't know much about clothes".

"Trust me, I do, going with my mother all the time had taught me enough. I will help you plus you can just look at the design to see what you like and buy it". He said

Then, the day ended and they were on their way to their car. She was following Adil's footsteps somehow she liked watching him walk and follow the same steps as him smiling to herself.

That was until a slap grace her beautiful face.

"How can you steal a person I loved then be happy?. How can you be so cruel-". Mariah said with tears running down her face

Adil stopped her words, "How dare you hit my wife, Mariah?. We were clear last week that you and your family have retraining orders from the court for your crimes".

His words held anger and a lot of it. He had heard people gossiping about his wife all day and he was sick of it. His friend had restrained him from fighting every single person who spoke about his wife and he knew if he did fight anyone it will drag his wife in a mess possibly throw her out of university.

He had seen her happy in this sadistic place somehow and her studies were her escape. He cannot take her small happiness away from her. But, right now, he had lost all his temper from the day. Someone hitting her in front of his own eyes had him see red. He had hardly digested the fact she was beaten each day while he had judged her and all through her life and now her sister had the audacity to spread rumours and hit her.

"Let me clear few things for you since you have been lying to everyone here far too long". He said holding his wife hand, "My wife was being treated badly by your parents for years and you have added to that damage. You lived your life happily through the years while my wife had suffered. She was never a reason or even cause single harm to you and you lied about being suicidal which I must add was low and insulting for those who actually are one. I married her because I had no feeling for you, ever, we were not engaged and the other words you have spread around are also lies. So I suggest, before I start opening and telling them about the case that we have closed a week ago, for the time being, stay away from my wife and if you ever harm her the case will open and you will be punished. Am I clear?".

After the overdue, some crying from her part, they had come to a beach to relax before they actually head home.

"You know, I realised, that I wasn't as angry as I used to get and lost my mind like I usually do because you were with me". He said smiling

"Thank you for standing for me". She said softly

"That is my duty". He said looking at the dark sky

"Do you think they will ever leave me?". She asked scared

"They will and if they don't you have to open the case and get them jailed, Sophia". He said turning to her, "And, you have to promise me something".

She could clearly hear that his voice was strained like he was scared and pained at the same time.

She looked into his eyes nodding as he continued, "Each time and I mean every single time I don't care what time or how many time if you ever have suicidal thoughts come to me. You don't have to speak and I won't ask or speak either. I will stay with you but please don't do it again. I am scared I can't lose you, Sophia".

She promised.

She promised herself to never do something that her lord hate too. She did it because she thought her life was hard but that time she had forgotten that Allah had better plans that we cannot see. Maybe, if she had waited and looked at the bright side she would have found Adil in a different way and she would be living a different life. A life, she is wishing to live with her husband.

The next day, at university, was pleasant there were few more girls who were subjected to Mariah's hate and were humiliated or being accused came forward to which Mariah was expelled from the university. Her behaviour along with her grades was bad enough.

They were finally able to have a shopping sphere to say Adil was happy will be an understatement he had worked in his father company and spend his money on his education or mother to be able to spend on a person he was meant to be with was ecstatic.

Sophia was happy, a little, or more she hasn't felt happy for a long time so she wasn't sure but being someone else happiness was a blessing for her. She felt relieved and relaxed being with him having him choose everything and her rejecting was hard but she did buy a lot of things.

"Can we visit my mother?". She asked unsurely

He looked away from his laptop towards where she stands, "Sure, you want to go now?".

"Yes, but, you were working". She said softly

"No, I am free". He said holding her hand as they walked outside their room

They have started sharing a room at first she was not comfortable and he had slept mostly on the couch but she felt bad every day so she invited him. Now, she shares more of physical contact, she stands near him, talks to him and not flinch anymore.

She loves it.

They visited her mother grave and she had cried. She hadn't been here for years because her father never let her but she couldn't hold herself anymore. She had cried one last time on her mother grave so she can let her go and every bad memory in her life to share a full relationship with her husband.

Her husband had held her and even spoken to her mother assuring her he will take care of her and she had believed him.

They were outside their house when they saw Mariah standing there with a smirk.

"Sister, how are you doing?". Mariah said grinning as she cast a glance at her husband which doesn't sit well with Sophia

"What do you want?". Sophia asked her not happy

"Oh, I came to meet you also there was something I wanted to tell you. Have you ever wondered why Father loved me more than you?". Mariah asked

Her heart stopped she knows whatever that was coming next will not be good.

"It's because I am his biological daughter like you". Were Mariah last words that broke her heart again
