"What are you doing here?" Vikram stepped forward, covering me behind him.
"I told you Vikram...that I would come for her" I witnessed his fingers curling up tightly, clenching his fist.
"You better leave this place, before I come up with 365 different plans to kill you, right now" Words escaped his mouth, with his teeth clenched.
"I am here for Suhana, so can you please...move aside." Vivaan ran his fingers over his hair, unbothered about what he was disrupting.
"Suhana. We need to talk, please"
Okay. Crap.
2 seconds. It took him just 2 seconds to change his expression from cocky to an apologetic one.
I fell for this guy? Jokes on me.
I pushed Vikram slightly, as I moved forward and stood beside him.
Let me deal with this myself.
"What do you want to talk about, Vivaan?" I tried my best to sound calm.
"Don't tell me you are enjoying this!" I could hear Vikram whisper to me, annoyed.
"Vikram, will you excuse us!" He narrowed his gaze at him.
"No! He will stay. With me. Here." I grasped my fingers around his arm. Holding on to his hand securely as if my entire life depended on it.
"Okay. Okay. Fine" Vivaan took a deep breath, as he took a step forward.
"Suhana, I have already told you this...I screwed it up back then. In the Airport. Big time. And...I know I am at fault but...I am pretty sure I can do anything to make it right"
Here we go.
"Vivaan how did you know I was here?" I glared at him as realization shook me.
"Was it....Aisha?" I gasped at my own voice as he continued, "I don't need Aisha to tell me about you Suhana, I can find my way to you. Always"
"Vivaan listen...How about we talk about this somewhere else. Maybe after we...you know, go back to our normal lives and talk like civil, rather than having this conversation here. In the middle of the woods?"
"I'm right, right?" I turned and looked up at Vikram, waiting for him to reply.
Reply anything.
Something. That would make sense.
Something that wouldn't make me feel less alone and stuck in a crazy situation.
"It would be better if you both never meet at all. Like Ever. That would be great, I guess" He muttered, with his eyes glaring at Vivaan.
Oh God, where am I stuck?
Stuck with two crazy men who have lost their minds.
"No Suhana. It's now or never. We need to talk. Please tell me that you still feel the same for me" Vivaan moved forward as he grabbed my other hand.
"Vivaan...you shouldn't..." My words trailed off as I focused on removing his tight grip from mine.
Vivaan fell back on the ground, as Vikram pushed him away from me.
"Don't. You better don't touch her" He spat words like confetti while I was stuck beside him, drooling over his voice and ogling his face.
No. Not drooling.
I meant drooning.
'There isn't any word as such, unless you are planning to invent one' My mind snapped back at me.
Maybe drowning...or dawning or something else. But definitely not drooling.
"You don't get to tell me what I should do Vikram. She's my fiancée," I placed my hands on my hips, not sure of where this conversation was heading to.
"Your fiancée? My foot!" Vikram snapped at Vivaan, his voice taut with...anger? annoyance?
"Vivaan! Care to explain?" I decided to step in.
"Yes Suha! We are getting married in 3 weeks. If you--"
The What?
"And on whose permission are you doing all this? I don't remember you asking me in the first place"
"No Suha, I was sure you would say Yes! I know you still love--"
"You thought...what?" I glared at him, as I shook my head, not sure what I just heard.
"What do you think of me Vivaan? A robot? A machine? Something that doesn't have feelings? You don't get to choose what life I should live, and with whom I should live, after rejecting me like that years ago."
" And yes, I proposed to you in front of God knows how many thousand people. I did that because I loved you."
"And...because I thought you were cool and sweet and...God it's so embarrassing for me to even say that I once loved you. Look at you, you are the CEO of a company and have thousands of people working under you and....here you are-forcing someone to be in your life" I mentally slammed myself against all the trees, witnessing my pathetic life.
"Then why did you accept all my gifts? You gave me hope, Suhana!"
Gifts?
"What gifts?"
"You know what it is"
The bouquet, the diamond watch, the cushions. Everything signed with the name V.
Crap! Why didn't I think of him?
"That was...you?"
"He gave you gifts...and you accepted them?" Vikram interrupted me, his mouth falling apart.
"Shut up" I whisper-yelled at Vikram.
"Listen Vivaan, I never knew that it was you who--"
"Suha, whatever it is, we will talk later. Now come with me. Let's leave this place and..." He moved forward to grab my hand, as I took a step back and swirled both my hands around Vikram's right arm.
Ahh, I swear I could feel his biceps against my fingers.
Crap! Concentrate Suhana freaking Sharma!
Wait. It's Suhana Vikram Malhotra.
Then I guess it's legal to feel all those biceps to my heart's content.
"Will you please remove your hands from his fucking arms!" Vivaan yelled, running a hand over his head, vexed.
Okay. So that is all it takes to annoy him?
"I won't!" I said aloud, plotting a wild plan in my mind.
"Why the hell dammit? You both called off the marriage....now who is he even to you?" He would probably lose all his teeth, considering the way he was clenching them right now.
"Why? Huh....its because I love him...and we are so stuck in love that I would wrap my hands around his arms, legs and his body. Any problem?" I successfully planted the first bomb inside Vivaan's head, as my hands that were around Vikram, were probably shaking.
"Body? Seriously " Vikram muttered under his breath.
I'm sorry Mr.Vikram Malhotra. I swear I didn't even mean a word. They were used completely for defense purposes only.
"What?" Vivaan chuckled as he rolled his eyes. "You and...Vikram? Lovers? You want me to believe that?" He put his head back and scared the shit out of me with his next laugh.

Is it that hard to believe?
"You both can barely stand each other for a minute" He glared at us as he continued,"Don't try to fool me the same way you tried to fool your parents "
His voice remained cold, stiff and scary as as the sun was almost ready to set.
"Why don't you tell him, Vikram. About us." I looked up at him, and then regretted the next second for saying that.
Vikram looked back into my eye, staring at me stunned, as his left hand moved over his right arms, and removed my hands from his.
Two corporate maniacs murdered an innocent Doctor in the woods. Be ready to catch up on the entire news.
He is going to screw up everything and I am going to magically turn into a meatball.
"What is so shocking for you to believe that, you dumb head " My eyes grew wide as Vikram circled his right arm around my waist and pulled me towards himself.
What the hell is happening here?
"You don't! You both are lying!" Vivaan moved back with both his hands pressed on either side of his head.
"So what? Should I kiss her to prove my love for her?"
Stop giving him ideas, you idiot.
"Vikram...you" Vivaan's fingers gripped his hair tightly, infuriated.
He is going to be bald soon.
Ugh, I hate my mind.
"Suhana! You should come with me now!" He pulled himself together as he started spitting out nonsense.
"Stop it Vivaan! I am not coming with you! Can't you understand this? I am over you! Your obsession is starting to creep me out"
"This is the last chance I am sparing for you to leave this place or else the next thing you would want is to end up in the streets with your family" Vikram interrupted.
"Okay, so you no longer love me...and you won't let me live!" He pointed at me and then at Vikram, as he continued, "And you both thought I would listen to your crap and leave this place?" He chuckled as a maniac, as he dipped his hand inside his pocket.
"You bet! I...am a decent villain though" I gasped, as he pulled out a gun pointing at us.
"Vivaan..." I tried to move forward, as Vikram tightened his grip over me, stopping me.
"So? You are taking shooting classes now? What is the monthly fee?" I turned my pale face towards Vikram, shook.
What is this guy even saying?
"Vikram stop it" I whispered as he remained calm with his eyes fixed at Vivaan.
"Are you mocking me right now? Wait until I pull the trigger and shred all your organs into pieces"
"Vivaan please, stop! What is even wrong with you? This isn't you. Trust me you don't want to do this!" I could feel the nervousness in my voice vibrate all over my body.
"Suhana, tell me that you are coming with me right now. I promise I will spare this guy" His voice was hoarse and serious.
"Oh please come on shoot me!" Vikram provoked him again.
"Vikram stop exasperating him, if you wish to stay alive " I whisper-yelled at him.
"I bet this guy has no guts to do anything of this alone. Who is your accomplice? Stupid lame corporate enemies? Or someone even dumber? Who wants me dead anyway" I turned my head back and forth, confused.
Accomplice? What is he saying?
Vikram sounded so calm as if he had expected every ounce of this to happen beforehand.
"You would realize that I have guts when I put a bullet inside your kidney." Vivaan smirked.
"Oh please, aim for the heart! Vikram's spirit disappeared, as Mr.Narcissist took over him.
"Vikram will you please keep your mouth shut and stay still for a minute" I yelled as I turned back at Vivaan.
"Vivaan. Let's talk it out. Please don't take any decision out of haste."
"You want him alive? Leave this place with me right now"
"Okay okay! Fine!
I will come with you. We'll leave. Now drop the gun down" I took a step forward with my heart running a never-ending marathon.
"You would leave with him? You are not leaving anywhere. Stay here" Vikram pulled me back harder as I bumped against his chest, with a tight grip around my wrist.
• • •
"What are you both terrorists?" I closed my mouth with my shivering hand, as I witnessed Vivaan and Vikram standing opposite, ready to pounce on each other.
One with a gun. One with none.
He threw a punch straight in the air as it landed on Vivaan's nose, leaving him to fall aback with blood oozing out of his nostrils.
I looked out here and there to find something. Something that would be useful to stop this.
My head was almost starting to feel dizzy as my eyes landed on Vikram's phone that was lying away from us, on the ground.
I ran over to it, as I grabbed the phone.
Forcing my shaky hands to move, I quickly swiped the screen only to find out that I had to enter a passcode.
Ugh!
"You're really dead today" Vivaan stood up, as he wiped his nose against his shirt sleeve, and pointed his gun at Vikram.
I ran forward as I placed my hand on Vivaan trying to stop him.
"Vivaan. I respect you. You are a better person. Trust me, you would regret every second of this later" He grabbed my wrist out of the blue,"Fine, let's leave then" He pulled me, as Vikram stepped forward and held my other wrist.
"Leave her out of this, you jerk!"
"Try me" Vivaan dropped my hand, as he pulled the trigger.
"Vivaan stop stop! Throw the gun away, I will come with you. We will talk this out" I panicked, as sweat dripped down my forehead.
The next second, I was standing beside Vikram, as he pulled me back next to him.
"Vikram you--" I stopped midway, as a familiar ringtone interrupted.
I looked down at my hand, as I found Vikram's phone ringing.
"You should attend this call Vikram" Vivaan relaxed as he gave a smirk. An evil one.
"I'm sure you wouldn't stop me or Suhana from leaving after this call. Infact, you would be glad to send her off with me"
What is he talking about now?
Vikram grabbed the phone from my hand, with his eyes fixed upon Vivaan, his gaze boring a hole through his forehead.
"You should put it on speaker" Vivaan chuckled, as Vikram swiped the screen.
"Hello Vikram" A male voice came from the other side of the phone, as Vikram remained frozen, his eyes widened.
"You are fighting for a girl? A new girl whom you claim to be your lover now?" The voice was stiff, stern, as that of at least a 35 year old man's.
"That's disappointing. So...it just took you 6 years to move on from my sister...after killing her?" I removed my hand from Vikram's, as I cupped my face.
"No guilt? No regret?" The voice spat fury through the phone while Vikram remained still, with no reply. His face was pale enough for him to lose his consciousness the next second.
What is even happening?
"Time to get rid of you" Vivaan lifted the gun above, aiming at Vikram.
"Vikram look out" I yelled on top of my lungs as he stood still, staring at the phone, his mind lost somewhere else.
The bullet left the gun, as the gun sound echoed everywhere, drowning the entire woods in its sound.
Blood splashed out, dripping on the ground ,gushing out from the wound.
A tear slipped Vikram's eyes, his mouth slightly parted as I held on to him, stopping him from falling down.
Tears filled up my eyes, blurring my vision. I held him closer to my chest, bawling my eyes out.
'You're a doctor for God's sake!' I yelled to myself.
I can solve this. I can undo this.
I looked down at his bloodied shirt, my hands tracing over, searching for the wound.
I can fix this.
I pulled myself mentally to get up and treat his wound, as I fell back with sharp pain near my chest, leaving all my sensations to burn on fire.
"Suhana don't move!" Vikram yelled. I moved my head down, as my eyes landed on the wound near my collarbone, blood oozing out, nonstop, drenching the 'Forever hoodie in my blood.
And it all made sense. I blocked Vikram. I stopped the bullet from reaching him.
It wasn't Vikram's blood. It was mine.
"Suhana! Why? Why? Why? Why would you do that?" I could hear Vivaan's voice echo somewhere behind my head.
I could no longer see him or anything around me.
I shouldn't lose consciousness, I reminded myself.
I tried my best to open my eyes wide open, as all I could see was the blurry sight of Vikram pulling out a cloth from somewhere and pressing tightly on the wound, trying to stop me from bleeding. His hands were covered with my blood, his face with tears.
I pulled myself together, as I slightly raised my head above and pushed Vikram's hand away from me.
I placed my hand at my wound, analyzing as my head fell back, losing hope.
"It's...stuck" I managed to shut out the words, as every second was making it difficult for me to breathe.
"Stuck? Stuck where? Tell me Suhana! " Vikram brought his ears next to my mouth, as I tried to speak up.
But all that came out of my mouth was air, barely.
The pain soon started to numb out. I could no longer feel anything.
The bullet was either stuck somewhere between my ribs or collarbone.
"I barely have...15 minutes" I mumbled as my vision started to blur out.
And there is no hospital within 40km radius. The irony though.
"Suhana! Look at me!! Listen...It's going to be okay. You are going to be okay. Just...stay with me" I could still figure out the panic in his voice despite everything that was deteriorating inside me.
"I'm not going to let you die like this" He yelled as I could barely feel his palms against my cheek, patting me aggressively.
I opened my eyes wide again, not wanting to lose consciousness, as I could slowly no longer figure out anything.
My vision started to blur out completely as I reached out my hand to his'.
"Vikram...this is not your fault--" I managed to say out aloud, as darkness took over, devouring all my happiness.
