《Destiny That Binds Us》21: In my wildest dreams!

"Why don't you guys say something?" I blinked blankly, with three pairs of eyes staring at me.
"Nope, just wondering how to treat you after sharing this wonderful news. Either with slippers or a broomstick?" Megha said, infuriated.
"You are joking right?" Mom gasped with her hand over her mouth.
"Well practically, I'm not" I answered confused.
I swear my dream is going to come true.
Yes, My mom is really going to dig a pit backyard, to push me inside and close it.
"You are so doltish! I am talking to that Rohit idiot right away. What does he and his evil mother of his think about themselves, huh!" Megha spat with her face like the yellow angry bird.
"Megha stop before you do anything stupid" I raised my voice as she picked her phone.
"Says the one who has taken one of the lamest decisions in the world. What did you think? That I will hug you and tell 'Thank you so much sacrificing your whole life for me' like those serial actors? Ahh--that's not me" She was busy mocking me, as I snatched her phone.
"I am not doing anything for you, understand? I am marrying him because I want to, don't think too high about yourself. Why would I even do that for you?" I shrugged, as I lied flawlessly.
"I am not letting you do this," Mom said in a serious tone and left for her room.
"Shut up and don't take any stupid decisions until I come back" I pointed a finger out at Megha and left to Mom's room.
"You better stay out, before I slap you on your face" Mom screamed in a perilous voice from inside.
"Mom, come on" I entered the room and sat beside her on the couch.
"You don't understand Suha, do you? It's really excruciating to see my daughter marry someone whom she doesn't even know enough. I didn't, and never wanted you to end up like this" I could see tears prickling mom's brown eyes.
"Mom, come on, I am not marrying him for Megha, why do you guys think like that. I am marrying Vikram because--I want to" I put my hands up in the air.
Woah, what a reason to marry him.
Kill me already.
"Oh really, then tell me atleast 3 reasons why you want to marry him, that too immediately--tomorrow?" Mom asked furiously.

"Come on, who doesn't want to marry him? He is ---"
God, help me
Please.
"He is not bald--and he has both his kidneys and--and all 32 teeths " I faked a smile.
Shit!
Is the pit in the backyard ready??
"Seriously? Are you alright?? Have you lost your mind on the way??? Because you are acting that way." Mom's eyes grew wide looking at me.
"Fine, let me tell you. Listen I went to Vikram's office today--"
It really took a while to explain everything to mom.
"--And his mom--She is really up to something. I am scared of what she might do to Megha and Rohit. The way she answered--She didn't ask at all, just demanding me to do stuffs."
Now I know where that idiot got this trait.
"What if she purposely does something to Megha for publicity humiliating her family that day or--"
"That wasn't your fault, his stupid son did the deeds" Mom answered leaving me shocked.
"Then why didn't you talk with me for weeks." I rolled my eyes.
"Of course I would be mad at you. I thought you used to share everything with me, but then you straightway lied to my face. I had to be mad at you" She put up a puppy face.
"I know it was his fault, but I just don't know mom--I don't want to take a risk with Megha's life. She might be mad at me for taking such a decision today, but later when she realises that she will never be able to marry Rohit and live the life she had imagined--that day will be heartbreaking for us."
"But I can't sacrifice one daughter for the other right? You both are important for me" She answered distressed.
"Mom, you don't have to worry about me, I will be totally fine. Vikram is really so caring-- and Kind and--so loving" I hugged her.
Yes he is Kind, caring and loving.
In my wildest dreams.
After an hour of discussion, finally it felt mom was partially agreeing to my decision.
Though it wasn't completely my decision.
'I know why I am doing this. I am strong. No one can break me or my family.' I silently told myself.
"And what is that lady thinking huh? Is she planning to kidnap you and murder you or what? Who plans marriage a day before? I think we need to book an entire asylum for her family " Mom said with fuming anger.

"I won't let her conduct this anytime soon. If she has her ways to make things do, then so do I. I will talk to that maleficent lady"

It took me a while to console Megha, as she wept in my lap for hours.
"I don't want that idiot. If he can leave me so easily, why can't I?" She wept hugging me, as I stroked her hair.
She can't even say that without crying.
Mom had told, that she had to really argue, scream a lot with Varsha aunty and finally she succeeded to stop the marriage from happening tomorrow.
And that evil lady came up with 3 days later.
I am officially doomed.

"Come on speed up Vikram! This is all you got?" She mocked at me, laughing.
"It's late night. The road is completely dark, let's just maintain this speed" I smiled, on seeing her cute antics.
"Will anyone believe that you won Formula 1 car race first place, determining from the speed we are traveling right now?
Come it's raining as well, let's just enjoy it" She squealed as I sped up till the maximum on seeing a beautiful smile over her face.
"This is fun, woohoo. Wait let me get those snacks from behind" She jumped from the front to the back seat.
"Hey careful" I turned back to check up on her.
"I am always fine Vikram" Her face lit up with a radiant smile.
"Hey watch out" She screamed as I turned in front as a huge truck was pacing and in a swift, I dodged the truck, but the car lost its balance and hit the tree.
BOOM! And I lost everything I had in my life.
But I didn't know that, that was going to be the last time I would ever see that smile on her face.
I slowly reminisced about the past as I traced my fingers over her picture, I treasured. It was almost 6½ years since that happened, but it still feels real and scary.
Why did I even do that again, today?
I shouldn't have done that!
Shit!
I punched the wall, frustrated with myself.
Sia. I never should have brought her from London along with me back then. She should have stayed there.
I don't want any girl to enter this hell of mine and suffer.
Suhana, she deserves better. A lot better than someone like me. I have troubled her enough.
I never should've asked her help that day. But something always felt familiar whenever she was with me. If not, I wouldn't have gone around and asked some random girl to act as my girlfriend.
But mom and her wrecked plans to get married so that I would get over my past is infuriating.
I slid the small Polaroid photo of ours which we had clicked back when we both were back in London, in between my diary.
With thoughts flooding in my mind, I moved to the cupboard and unlocked the draw inside and placed the diary back in its place inside. A small box beside it was shining, reflecting my face.
I picked it up and opened it. Petite small letters, S and V letters hanging from a thin gold bracelet with a small heart clinging in between those letters.
Someone. Someone decided to save me that day. But failed to save her from that car blast.
Why? Why me? Why didn't they save her first?
The hospital nurse returned this bracelet along with my other belongings. Nope, it wasn't Sia's.
But it did remind me of her. Our first letters, clinging to the bracelet just like the love we shared.
It wasn't supposed to end like that, but it did. I can't do anything about that. I do know, but I also don't want anyone in my life.
Such a small request why doesn't no one understand this.
Letting out a long sigh of despair, I placed the bracelet back inside the box and placed it inside and locked the drawer.
Mom had already started with the preparations at home for marriage in three days.
Marriage, my foot!
Why the hell would someone force you to get married to someone you don't want to marry?
Just let that girl, study, graduate and live her own life, rather pressurizing her.
I never want to talk to mom after this stupid decision of her's.
And that idiot Rohit, if he loves Megha really that much, why don't he build up the courage and elope with her.
And here I am, marrying someone else for him.
