《Destiny That Binds Us》4 : Why did you call me babe?

Life sucks...but ask me if I give a shit!
Life is meant to be enjoyed, not endured.
"Vikram, are you even listening to us or not?"
I slowly moved my gaze off the book, I was indulged , as I found an adorable couple gaping at me.
"See, didn't I tell you Arnav, Our son is too busy to lend his ears." Mom crossed her arms and sat on the couch away from us.
"Varsha relax, I will talk to him.
Too bad Vikram, listen to us at least once" Dad tried explaining.
It's not that I was not listening to them,it's just that, I have been listening to the same piece of advice every single day.
"You have to settle down Vikram and you need to understand that" Dad shook his head significantly.
Blah..blah...blah.
Typical.Indian.Parents.
"Sorry, no time for that!" I snapped as I moved my gaze back to my book.
"Arnav, you sit down, don't stress yourself. Listen Vikram, your father is terribly ill and you know that very well. Stop troubling us and--- this attitude of yours--Please keep it away from us. " Mom snarled.
I made an erroneous decision by choosing to stay at home today. Well, I should have known about their plans.
And dad hasn't been well since a long time. But on what basis is it related to my marriage?!
"Listen Vikram you claim to be in love with someone else but why aren't you introducing her to us? "
"Mom, she is actually---"
"---Busy. That's what you have been telling us, since the day we started discussing your marriage . See at least Rohit loves someone and she is well mannered, intelligent, beautiful and what not. We aren't against love marriage Vikram. Just tell who she is, we will talk to her family."
"Mom, please--I don't want to get married any time sooner. Moreover I need to focus more on our company and business rather than increasing a family member. "

"We don't want to talk anymore Vikram. You either introduce her within 2 days or you are marrying the girl we ask you to. "

What the hell. This annoying little brother of mine told me he is taking me somewhere to change my mood and is now totally planning to ruin it.
A freakin' stupid kiddish party.
Rohit and Ishaan have totally lost it. I thought they would take me to a club or somewhere to give me a peace of mind.
"Come on Vikram bhai, stop being grumpy" Rohit threw his shoulders around me as we stood in the entrance of the party.
"From when did you both start attending kids birthday parties? Go and wear some gowns instead of Suits" Rohit and Ishaan exchanged glances and suddenly burst into laughter.
"This party is Vivaan's, probably for his sister's birthday" Ishaan exclaimed.
"Ohh yeah--- But who is Vivaan?" I really had no idea about this Vivaan fellow.
"Vivasha companies----CEO?" Rohit shook his head in dismay.
"Ohh that guy"
I don't remember stupid people. Well, we had a deal and Rohit handles it, I handle important deals and not silly.
"Yeah, so now come in and join us" Rohit and Ishaan exclaimed together like 5 year old kids.
"Uh---I have a call to attend. You guys carry on--" I gave a lame excuse and moved to the parking lot.
Hours passed by, Rohit called once and I still pretended to be on an important call.
It was around 11 pm when I called Rohit asking why they both are still in the party and only then I came to know that those betrayers left me in the parking lot and left home thinking I had left already.
If only they weren't my brothers, I swear I would kill them for dumping me in a Kids party.

Without delaying, I took my car and left for home and on the way I got a call from the office.
I don't attend calls while driving. Well--I used to but not anymore.
I parked my car aside the pavement, stepped out of my car and attended the call.
Stupid people. One day, I didn't attend the office and there were so many bloody problems.
I had asked---well I don't remember his name. I had asked one fellow to mail all the possible details about the last company we had dealt with. And that fellow is still sending.
I freakin told him in the morning that I needed it today, and was a day not enough for him?
He was shuttering on the other side as he remained silent, gritting my teeth.
"I don't stand against such nonsense. You are fired, get lost!" I yelled and decided to leave, when someone hugged me tightly.
"What the--" I grit my teeth trying my level best not to swear.
"Ohh Baby, I missed you so much!" Probably a girl squealed against my suit.
I immediately pulled her apart from the hug. She was literally clinging to me.
"Excuse me?!" I raised my eyebrows in exasperation.
"Oh baby, I know I am very late. But please don't be angry"
Okay--so basically she is from the asylum, I guess.
"Are you insane?"
"Uh--no baby actually----" her words trailed off as her gaze moved behind my back.
I slowly moved my head to my left and grabbed a glimpse from the corner of my eye.
My creased eyebrows relaxed as I got an idea of the situation taking place.
I turned back and moved towards those three bastards.
I slowly raised my eyebrows at them as they both changed their glances between them.
"Hey listen man-- just give her to us, and then you are free to go" One man among them finally opened their mouth.
"Ohh--Then?" I kept moving forward.
"Hey--hey--stay wherever you are, man." The other one shuddered.
And the third one ran away before I could even start my show.
" Hey--Can't you understand? Hand over her to us and just leave" The first man outraged.
" I let my gaze pierce them.
"Let's leave bro" The second man shook the other guy's shoulder.
"I won't leave until I get her" The first man furied.
Phew!! These people don't understand things once.
I fisted my fingers and punched him straight on his nose as he fell back on the ground, bleeding.
"Bro, let's leave" The other tapped his shoulder and before another punch could land on him, they both were far away.
I turned back and saw that Girl standing at the same place with her palm against her mouth, shocked.
"Why did you hit them?" She gasped.
"Well, why did you call me babe?" I reverted.
"Uh--I thought only that would stop them--But still-- Anyways thanks" she said and turned away.
"Hey wait---" I fastened my speed.
"What?" She rolled her eyes.
Attitude, duh.
"I helped you!" I raised my eyebrows.
"Okay--So?" She crossed her arms waiting for me to continue.
" I helped you!" I repeated a bit louder.
"So what do you want me to do for that?" She rolled her eyes.
Perfect attitude.
"I helped you, so mind helping me in return?" I really don't know why I decided to ask her for that help.
"Help?--What help?" She asked, confused.
"I want you to act as my girlfriend!" I uttered as she gasped.

8 301Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne (1870) (Completed)
In 1866, ships of several nations spot a mysterious sea monster, which some suggest is a giant narwhal. The US government assembles an expedition to find and destroy the monster. Professor Pierre Aronnax, a French marine biologist (and narrator within the story) receives a last-minute invitation to join the expedition. As the expedition travels south around Cape Horn into the Pacific Ocean, the crew finds the monster after a long search and then attack it, but the ship is damaged with the three main protagonists thrown into the water. They are quickly captured and then meet the enigmatic Captain Nemo. ~ Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea is a classic science fiction novel by French writer Jules Verne and was originally published in 1870. The novel was originally serialized between March 1869 and June 1870 in Pierre-Jules Hetzel's periodical, the Magasin d'Éducation et de Récréation.
