《Someone Like Adam》20. Jealous... Or Not?

It was 6 in the evening when the sound of a car horn woke me up from my afternoon nap. Hopping out of my bed, I peeped from my room's window and found Noah's car in front of my house. It was a silver Lamborghini Gallardo, standing in its full glory.

After drooling at the sight of his car for almost five minutes, I checked my appearance in the mirror, making sure the T-shirt wasn't too tight or the jeans didn't make my bottoms look too appealing.

When I opened the main gate, Noah with a big tub of Ben and Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie in his hands greeted me. I looked between his face and the tub, trying to make the connection.

"It's for you idiot." he smirked when he noticed my confusion. He was wearing a black T-shirt that was hugging his toned chest. As much as I would like to disagree, Noah was quite handsome, with his ocean blue eyes and messy light brown hair.

Well. Not as handsome as Adam.

"But why?" I asked dryly.

"Because I've heard that girls love ice-cream." he shrugged.

"But I don't." I lied even though I was internally drooling at the sight of my favorite ice-cream flavor. "I am more of a nutella person."

His smile deepened before he pulled out the large jar of Nutella which he was hiding behind him in his other hand. "Well, it's good that I brought a back-up."

Awww.

Don't be stupid, Alicia. Remember, this is the same guy who has slept with almost every girl in Redwood High.

"Come in." I turned aside and gave him way. While I was closing the gate, I felt someone's focused eyes on me. Lifting my head, I looked towards Adam's window but found nobody.

Strange.

Shaking my head to clear the thoughts, I rushed inside my house after Noah who was about to step up the stairs.

"Where Mr?" I called him.

"To your bedroom." he said in a duh tone.

"Get your ass down. We are studying in the TV lounge." I said and disappointment filled his eyes that almost made me laugh.

We plopped down on the large couch. Unlike Adam, Noah didn't know the concept of personal space. Maybe he was so used to girls sitting closer to him that a reasonable distance seemed like a foreign concept to him. I was the one who scooted away from him and kept my notebook between us.

"Nice house Ali." he muttered, looking around.

"Focus." I said and opened my textbook.

"It's Mr. King. Isn't it?" he commented, looking at dad's photo on one wall.

"Yup." I said, trying to understand Noah's handwriting. It wasn't as beautiful as Adam's. Neither did he keep his notebook as neat and clean as Adam did.

Ugh. Why am I comparing his every move with Adam?

"He is one scary man." he grinned, pointing towards the photo. "I wonder what he would do to your future boyfriend."

"You don't have to worry about my future boyfriend." I said sharply and started solving the problem.

Unlike Adam, Noah got distracted easily. In the last half an hour, he only solved one problem and the rest of the time, he kept complaining or commenting about different things.

"I am not getting it Noah." I said when I couldn't get the right answer.

He tugged the notebook away and solved the problem. "See. It's easy pooper." he smirked.

"Your answer is wrong idiot." I rolled my eyes and he smiled sheepishly.

"Oops." he muttered.

After trying for the fifth time, we finally got the answer right.

"Now I'm hungry." he said and stood up. Ignoring my threatening glare, he exited the lounge and after few minutes, returned with a Red Velvet cupcake in his hand and a juice can in other.

"Hey... It's mine." I groaned. I had planned to eat it with a steaming cup of coffee tonight. He just shrugged and put the whole cupcake in his mouth. His cheeks puffed out as he ate my dessert like an animal.

Few minutes have passed quietly when Noah got distracted again.

"Focus Noah." I exasperated when I found him using snapchat. He was trying the dog filter when I snatched his phone away from him.

"Alicia." he whined, pouting. "Give me my phone."

"No." I said stiffly.

"Give it to me." he glared, trying to look intimidating which he was not.

"No." I replied.

"Wrong answer." he showed his perfect teeth and launched at me. I tried to back away but unfortunately, the couch was too small for such childish acts and as a result, both of us ended on the floor with Noah on top of me.

"Ughh.." I groaned.

"Urghhh." Noah groaned too.

"You are so heavy Noah." I winced in pain, trying to reconnect with my almost broken spine.

"It's two hundred pounds of pure muscles sweetheart." he smirked, trying his best not to crush me with his weight. We were about to part of when some footsteps caught us off guard.

"Get off her, fucker." It was Adam who shouted this time. Our heads turned to his voice. He was standing against the doorframe, looking furious as hell.

"Adam?" I said in shock. Pushing Noah away with all my force, I stood up despite the pain in my back. "What are you doing here?"

He stood there tongue-tied for a moment, looking around nervously. "I.. I.. Umm.."

"Yes Adam. What are you doing here?" Noah demanded in an amused voice. Adam glared at him with so much disgust that even I cowered. If looks could kill, Noah would have been six feet under the ground by now.

Adam shifted his glance to me and responded, "Tiffany sent me to ask for some spare sugar. She is baking cookies."

Somehow, I doubted that it was the reason of his presence but I didn't say anything. Nodding, I went towards the kitchen and picked up the box of sugar from the counter.

When I went back inside the lounge, Adam and Noah were sitting on opposite side of couch and there was deadly silence prevailed between them. The scene was almost funny, considering their contrasting personalities.

"Here." I placed the box on the table. When Adam didn't stand up to leave, I sighed and sat down between them, maintaining distance from both of them.

I pulled out the problem I was stuck on for the last ten minutes. Adam observed my lack of Calculus skills for a moment and then pulled the notebook from my hands. I watched him as he solved the question in no time and handed it back to me.

"Show off." Noah said, glaring at him.

"Dimwit." Adam muttered under his breath.

"I was supposed to help her." Noah complained, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"Yes. You were supposed to help her, not trying to find a way to get physical with her." Adam taunted, mimicking his posture.

"Physical? You make it sound like I am trying to have a wrestling match with her, fucktard." Noah taunted.

"Guys. I'm still here." I whispered and both pair of eyes moved to me.

"Tell him to shut up." Noah said to me.

"Why? Are you too coward to do it yourself?" Adam added sarcastically.

"I'm out Ali. Will meet you someday else." Noah looked at me and smiled before casting an irritated glance at Adam. Picking up his bagpack, he exited the lounge, leaving me alone with Adam.

After the sound of gate closing reached my ears, I turned to look at Adam who had a sly smirk on his face. "What?" he asked when he found me looking at me.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd think you are jealous of Noah." I commented when he stood up to leave.

Instead of going forwards, he turned around and slowly trudged towards me. I sucked my breath when he leaned down and put both of his arms on my sides, caging me inside. I felt a knot in my stomach when I felt his warm breath tingling the skin on my face.

His eyes looked so beautiful from that close. The grey in them with small radial lines in black. Like a hole in the ground slowly trying to suck me in.

"A.. Adam." I whispered when I felt his nose touching mine. My eyes closed on their own. My hands were trembling slightly and If I weren't sitting, I would have fallen down by now.

Kiss me damn it.

Wait, what?

"Then its good thing that you know better." Adam smiled before pulling back. It took me two minutes to finally understand what he said. It was his reply to my previous sentence.

Adam left without the sugar pot and I just sat there on the couch, feeling hot and bothered, with a weird tingling in my stomach.
