Iris' Pov

Sitting up I brush my messy hair out of my face, glancing back at Luca who leans against the grey buttoned headboard with a sultry broad smile and borderline dark hazel eyes that glint with lust.

"If this is the medicine for feeling sick, I'll definitely get sick more often," Luca says with a sly smirk.

And I'd happily administer his medicine again.

"Shut up," I mutter grinning from ear to ear, wrapping the silky covers around my torso.

He pushes off from the headboard, coming towards me. "The past two days have been positively wonderful, amore." He brushes the hair from my shoulder and kisses the junction where my neck meets my shoulder.

I smile and wrap my arms around his neck, absolutely loving the feeling of his stubbled jaw against my soft skin. Bringing his head up, Luca presses his baby soft pink lips to mine in a sweet gentle kiss, his hands gripping my waist.

"This has to go." He whispers huskily against my lips, pulling the covers away from my body.

I bite my lip and moan as his rough hands roam my body, however, I pull away, reluctantly.

"Nope, no more sexy time. I have somewhere to be and I don't want to be late." I giggle getting out of bed and opening the curtains letting the morning light stream in.

"It's Wednesday, baby girl. We can stay in all day and do naughty things." He winks, licking his lower lip as he looks me up and down.

"Come on baby, just imagine my head between those sexy thighs of yours just eating away at your sweet little p-" Slamming the bathroom door I blush furiously at Luca's perverted words, shaking my head I bite my lip, sighing internally.

God, what is Luca Donario doing to my heart?

✨✨✨

I stroll with Lila down the street, pulling my coat tighter at the biting cold. Christmas decorations are already being strung up and the joyous festive music played faintly, blending in seamlessly with the sounds of the bustling city.

As we pass by people smiling and laughing dressed in ugly Christmas sweaters, I can't help but feel the Christmas spirit pass through.

"Don't you just love Christmas in the city?" I chirp watching everything with pure glee as a snow falls into my open palm.

"...Yeah, it's magical." Lila grumbles softly, pushing her hands deep in her pockets.

Okay...my best friend is giving off total Ebenezer Scrooge vibes.

"So, are you going back home for Christmas?" I inquire, glancing over at her.

"No." She responds with an icy, clipped tone. She almost sounds annoyed.

"Are you okay? You've been acting a bit different recently." I reply, gripping her wrist, causing her to come to a stop.

Clenching her jaw, she pulls her hand away. "I'm fine, Iris. Trust me, it's nothing." She then offers me a less than convincing smile.

"Lila-" I start but she cuts me off with a wave of the hand.

Sucking in a deep breath she holds her hands up in front of her. "Look it's nothing, I just...it's nothing...I have to go I'll see you later Iris." Bidding me goodbye, she pulls her hand away from me.

Shaking my head I stand to watch as she walks away into the moving crowd, sighing at her odd behavior, I rub my face and continue down the street pretty consumed in my thoughts until I collide with someone.

I apologize profusely. "I am so sorry."

Flitting my gaze upwards I'm surprised to see a smiling Estevon, I thought he'd have gone home, back to Miami by now. He shoots me one of his legendary pretty boy smiles and I smile back.

"Damn, we have got to stop meeting like this." Estevon chuckles.

"At least this time there's no coffee." I grin, a beaming smile on my face, my thoughts completely discarded to the back of my mind.

Estevon gives me a heart-stopping smirk, pinching my cheeks to which I bat his hands away. "True, however, how about we do go get some coffee. You're starting to lose color."

We stroll down the street and into a quaint and convenient little cafe by the name of 'Coffee House'. It's nice with its polished wood floors and red-bricked walls, the abstract paintings on the walls give the cafe a hipster vibe well that and the overwhelming amount of hipsters who sat in the cafe.

We take a table in the far left corner where its private but not too private, for obvious reasons. Taking a seat on the wooden chair, a waitress comes over straight away almost as if she was just waiting for us to sit down.

"Good day, my name's Danielle. What can I get you two?" She smiles brightly, notepad in hand.

"Peppermint latte," I order with a hand under my chin.

"Black coffee, no cream or sugar," Estevon says, watching as she jots down our orders.

"I'll be right back with your orders." She chirps in her jersey accent, walking away.

"Let me guess, Christmas is your favorite holiday." Estevon deduces, running his hand through his golden hair.

I wonder how he knew.

"Is it that obvious?" I ask sheepishly, tucking my overgrown brunette hair behind my ear.

He chuckles. "Kind of, I mean you did have this look of sheer happiness when we passed stores with Christmas decorations and not to mention the peppermint Latte."

"I mean come on, what's not to love about Christmas...there's the songs, the snow, the gifts....people all over the world with huge smiles on there faces, the kindness of the season......and of course, Santa." I beam thanking the waitress who arrives with our drinks.

"You're so adorable," Estevon chuckles, a huge dopey smile on his face.

"Thank you, I try." I wink, taking a sip of the warming beverage.

"He's an idiot," Estevon mumbles softly, so soft I almost don't hear it.

He?

"Who's an idiot?" I inquire, my curiosity peaking.

"Him, your husband...you're the absolute perfect girl." He says bitterly not looking me in the eyes. "If you were mine, I'd shower you with my love and adoration."

"Estevon-" I sigh.

"No, Iris. I know, I know you just want to be friends. I get that, I really do but I just want to know if there's a possibility for you and me? Cause I know that I can treat you better than that husband of yours."

My heart swells with pain at his confession. I don't want to hurt his feelings....I hate this stuff, these type of confrontations. I hate having to break the hearts of others.

"Estevon I-" I whisper, my shoulders slumping.

I'm sad that I don't feel the same way about him.

"I get it, Iris, I shouldn't have put you in that situation...I'm sorry." He replies giving me a sad smile.

"No, I'm sorry," I mutter eyes cast downwards only glancing up at him when he takes my hand across the table.

"Hey, smile beautiful." He smiles pressing a soft kiss to my knuckles.

I give Estevon a small smile to which he returns.

We sit there even after our coffees are finish, just enjoying each other's company.

His confrontation residing in my heart however completely dissolving from the conversation, leaving only an impression on our minds with no awkwardness settling.

"Top 3 favorite colors, go." He grins, his eyes dancing with childlike playfulness.

"Peach, teal and...yell-" I am cut off by my phone ringing, pulling out from my pocket I see the ID Devil's Spawn❤ flash across the screen.

I send a quick sorry to Estevon who nods his head in understanding, accepting the call I place the phone against my ear waiting for Luca to speak.

"Iris?" His voice comes through the speaker.

"Yeah." I hum, leaning back into my seat.

"You need to come to the house, please it's urgent." His tone its calm yet I can sense it, the graveness in his words.

"Wow, wait...what's going on?" My brows furrow and I sit up straighter. "Are you alright?"

"I'll explain everything when you get home." He dismisses ending the call before I can get in any more questions.

Dammit, Luca!

"I'm sorry Estevon but I, I have to go home...it was great seeing you." Pulling a fiver from my pocket I slap it on the table and rush out.

Estevon shouts goodbye but I barely have time to do the same as I am already out the door and on the street, quickly walking down the street to my street to my car.

Reaching for my car keys, I open my car with a click of the button and open the driver's side getting in and immediately starting the engine, turning on to the street and driving a bit over the speed limit.

Thank God, there's barely any traffic.

I drive to the estate, driving out of the city, past the skyscrapers, hulking buildings, and the flashing lights and on to the familiar traffic free road surrounded by only beautiful green trees of all different variations.

I drive until I am greeted with the large brass gates and large mansion sitting in the middle of nowhere surrounded only by nature's beauty and acres of emerald green grass.

The guard opens the large gates for me as he always does, wishing him a good day I drive up to the front of the house, parking in my usual spot.

I get out my car walking towards the front door, pushing the door open.

"Luca!" I shout, my voice echoing in the large room.

I shout his name all through the house whilst searching every room, my voice thundering through the house. Sighing heavily I proceed into the piano room, frustrated when all I see is the large black grand piano, the marble floors, high ceiling, and the white walls.

Luca, where are you?

"Looking for me, sweetheart?" His deep melodic voice comes from behind, turning on my heel I see Luca leaning against the doorframe wearing a crisp suit.

I purse my lips, brow arched as I asses him when I find none, I eye him. "So, where's the emergency? You seem to be fine. Everything seems to be fine actually."

"Why wouldn't you think everything's fine." He tilts his head to the side and says with mock confusion.

Rolling my eyes, I cross my arms across my chest. "Because you called me and claimed there was an emergency."

"I don't remember doing that." He strolls toward me and frowns, pressing his hand to my forehead. "You okay, amore?"

Narrowing my eyes at him, I swat his hands away. "I'm going to knee you in the groin if you don't tell me why the hell you called me claiming there's an emergency."

"Fine, come on." He chuckles, turning on his heel and walking away.

I scowl, crossing my arms over my chest and trail behind Luca.

We walk down to the foyer and out the house, stopping directly where my car was parked, keyword 'was' because my car is no longer there, instead, in its place is a red tarp thrown over what looked to be the outline of a car.

I raise a brow at Luca who only winks at me. "Go on, pull it off."

Rolling my eyes once again, I step closer to the red tarp and yank it off with one fluid motion. My jaw drops as the air is knocked out of my chest. Blinking in shock at the shiny, obviously new Rolls Royce that practically screams 'expensive as fuck'.

"Do you like it? I got the inside custom done just for you." He says a smile on his face, his hands dug in his pockets as he looks at me.

"Its mine." I gasp finally getting over my complete surprise.

He nods and hands me the keys looking pleased with himself. I glance down at the keys in my hand and shake my head in disbelief, handing the keys back to him.

"I can't take it. I mean, the thought is great but-" I am cut off by Luca lifting his hand and rolling his eyes.

"Amore, If you don't take the car, you're going to break my heart and you don't want to break my heart, do you?" He replies, practically guilting me into to accepting his gift. "Plus think of it as an early Christmas gift, a little token of my appreciation for you taking care of me when I was ill."

Biting my lip I hold my hand out, glaring playfully at a smirking Luca as he deposits the key back into my open palm.

I walk over to the car mentally marveling at its pristine beauty, opening it up my jaw dropped again at the gorgeous white interior.

"I swear on my life, tesoro. If you don't close your mouth, I'll put it to good use." Luca growls, his voice deep and threatening. Eyes swirling pools of desire, it's sexy as fuck.

Snapping my mouth close, I narrow my eyes at the dirty-minded Luca who only sends me a devilishly wicked look that could have had me sinning for days, glancing back at my new car I run my hand over the white leather seats that have the letter I stitched into the headrest.

"You know you still haven't answered my question."

"I love it...I absolutely love it." I smile turning to face him, reaching up I loop my arms around his neck and pull him into a kiss.

He grins, dragging my body close to his so that we melt into each other, his hands drifting to my hips as his manly scent floods my senses. His taste addicting.

"Great." He mumbles against my lips.
