Narrator's POV
The ebon hedgehog was crawling around the house. His lord allowed him to roam around the house now, but he stall needed to wear the collar and crawl on all fours.
The black pet wondered into rooms he'd never heard of. Most of them were empty. Others were full of boxes that needed to be unpacked. His empty stomach growled loudly. He crawled downstairs to his owner's room. He heard noises from inside. He peeked in from the crack in the door.
He spotted his owner shaking a small bottle of medicine. He looked desperate and inpatient.
"Open, you piece of crap!" He shouted and threw the bottle at the door. The pet gasped and pushed the door closed. His owner's eyes widen. They suddenly filled up with regret. The black pet knew his owner had seen him, he tried his best to crawl away as fast as he could.
Just when he thought he had gotten away with it, he heard footsteps behind him. He tried getting away from the noise, but the footsteps got so loud. He was grabbed by the quills. The black pet cried loudly as he was pulled to his knees by his quills.
"What the hell were you thinking?" Emerald asked the ebon.
"I-I wasn't thinking! Please! I promise I won't-ahh... Do it again!" He tried to remove Scourge's hands from his quills.
"You better not." Scourge let go of the back hedgehog's quills, after punching his cheek. The black on fell and began to tear up. "Hey, hey, hey! Wait!" Scourge went over to his pet and crouched down by him. "I didn't mean to! I- I don't know what I was thinking..." He said reaching for the black one with shaky hands. He quickly pulled them together making some sort of knot from his fingers.

He had taken amphetamine, which was putting him in a state of doubt, apologizing, guilt, insecureness, self thoughtful and nervousness. He shook violently as he questioned what to do.
"Scourge?" The black one asked wiping a few small tears away. Scourge jumped at the sound of his voice.
"A-Are you hurt? Do you need hospitalization? A bandage? An ice pack? Maybe..." He started blabbing off into further things.
"Scourge!"
"What?!" He looked at the black being at his feet.
Ebony looked so sweet and innocent. His ears were folded back in worry. His eyes showed sympathy. "Are you alright?" His voices soothed the green one.
Scourge sighed. He leaned against the wall, sitting on the tiled floor. His knees were in the air, and his legs were opened allowing his arms to rest on them.
The black one started to slowly approach him, careful not scare him. Emerald took notice of this. He began to tremble. "Shadow..."
"Shh..." The black one cuddle to his chest. The green one felt warm, safe, secure. He crossed his legs, letting Shadow sit in the space between his legs; and wrapped his arms around him.
He put his chin on the other's head. And began to drift off with the other's loud and calming purr. He closed his eyes and fell asleep.
He next morning the green being awoke with the light of the sun hitting him in the face. "Ug..." He groaned and tried to cover his eyes, but his hands were held down. He noticed his black pet holding him.
"What happened last night?"
He thought. He looked around, soon taking notice of a small white bottle. Without disturbing the black hedgehog, he grabbed it. He read the label. His eyes widen, and his hand let the bottle drop. He noticed a bruise on the black hedgehog's cheek. The black one began to wake up. He gave a small yawn before opening his eyes.

He jumped a bit when he realized what he was doing. He back away and started to crawl a couple of feet away from his owner.
"Wait. Shadow come." The black one's ears dropped. He turned back around with his head down, ready to receive a blow. "No, no, no... I'm not gonna hurt you." He looked up. "I just wanna see that bruise." Shadow let him look. Scourge touched the black marking, only making the black hedgehog whine. "I did that?"
Shadow nodded. "I saw you...taking drugs." The black one said quietly.
"Yes, I know. I..." The green one sighed. "It's an addiction. It's getting worse and...I can't help it. I just gotta get those pills in my body." He looked down.
"You don't have to worry. I'm here to help." Shadow cheered.
"You think you could help me?" The green one looked up at the one in front of him.
"Of course, when I was a cop-" Scourge growled. He hated going back to that life. "I mean...before I lived with you I dealt with many people who did drugs and help them quit."
"Well, I could give it a shot... What do we need to do first?"
"Well, first we have to see your supply of these pills."
-Minutes Later-
"That's a lot of bottles." Shadow said looking up at Scourge who held a pillow case of the white bottles.
"I'm so ashamed right now..." Scourge whispered.
"Don't be, this doesn't even describe issues. First thing we need to do is keep these out of your reach."
"What? No way!" Scourge held the pillow case tightly.
"Do you want to quit or not?" Scourge looked away. "Now hand over the pillow case." Shadow pulled at it.
"No!" Scourge tugged back.
"It's the only way!" Shadow struggled to pull. He was soon kicked in the stomach. He let go and cried.
"These are mine! No one can have them! They're mine!" Scourge shouted.
The black one tried to recover from his kick, but the pain was too much to bare. He looked up at Scourge with blood to the side of his lip. "Help me..." He collapsed on the floor.
Scourge came out of his aggressive stage and looked at the hedgehog before him. "Dammit..." He whispered and got down on his knees to pick up the black hedgehog.
"Mmm..." The black hedgehog groaned. He was laying on a aft bed. He had a wet towel over his forehead. His green owner was in front of him getting something from a cabinet.
"S-Scourge?"
The green one turned to face Ebony. "Oh, you're awake. I thought you'd be out all day." He said.
"What happened? Why is there a-ow..."
"Don't sit up. You'll hurt yourself."
"What happened?" He asked.
"I kinda kicked you in the stomach too hard." Scourge said embarrassedly. "You need to rest for now." He laid by the black one in the bed.

The Tears of Kas̆dael
It was just supposed to be a game. A really, really great game, yes - but a game. Instead, Jasper got his heart ripped out by a brooding goddess and awoke to find himself in another world. No weapons, no skills. Naked. Trapped in a world full of ancient horrors, where gods and monsters still roam the earth, Jasper is forced to adapt quickly or die - and he's not ready to die. Good thing he's a mage. This is a high-fantasy novel with light LitRPG elements. It's not super-crunchy, but the system is an important part of the story. There is some light cursing and gore, but this is not a Grimdark novel. There will also be no harem. The current schedule is chapters on M-W-F of around 2000-2500 words, as well as occasional bonus chapters that provide background or insights into side characters. This is my first real attempt at writing a full novel, but the story is based on a world that I've been creating and re-creating since I was a child. I have an extensive "history" and religion, and even a semi-cohesive language system worked out, which will hopefully slowly shine through as the story progresses. I want to avoid having too many info-dumps, so I may from time to time post a bonus lore chapter that will explain some of the background for any who are interested.
