I set the empty bottle on the small table next to the rocking chair. Julien looks up at me with her curious eyes. Graduation has been going on for over two hours. I haven't gotten any texts or messages from Lili or Nate since they each said it was starting at six.

"Hey, Celia. Everything okay?"

"Yeah. Come on in."

"How are my granddaughters?"

"Emerson is sleepy and Julien is wide wake."

"Funny how they each represent your two different halves."

"Hahaha."

Julien stretches in my arms, her little fingers forming fists. My phone buzzes on the table. I take a peek and my face must give away my confusion.

"What?"

"Nate is video calling me."

"Answer it. But be as quiet as possible."

Okay. Not suspicious at all. I slide the 'accept' across the screen and Nate's face appears. He whispers into the phone.

"Get ready to cross the stage, my lovely girlfriend."

I'm about to question him until I hear the principal in the background.

"Cecilia Logan."

Nate turns the phone to face the principal as he walks across the stage for me.
