《Guidebook | ChickLit & Women's Fiction》About the reading lists

We have a variety of reading lists for you to peruse through! If you're looking for your next chicklit story, make sure to check out our reading lists on our profile. You can also submit your stories to us and if chosen, they'll be featured in one of our reading lists! Please keep in mind that our reading lists are constantly updated and changed. This means that stories will not be placed in our reading lists permanently.
You can find a list of our reading lists and a brief description of each below.
Stories featuring sleep-deprived minds wandering around the campus of their choice. From mean girls and frat parties to sophisticated Greek life and supportive study clubs. If your main character is part of any (or all) of the above—no matter whether she's struggling or slaying—your story for sure belongs to our Night Owls.
Adulting is not always a piece of cake—if your character struggles with her day-to-day life and constantly stumbles over her own feet (whether that is literally or not) we sure want to read about it because oh dear, she's not alone! Our Adulthood reading list is all about life, self-discovery, new beginnings and other catastrophes.
What is better than having one devilishly handsome, young and successful boss? Being your own CEO that your mamma would love for you to marry! Our Nine to Five reading list is open for all stories featuring a career woman whose high heels are definitely bigger than the Empire State building.
Strong female leads are the way to our heart; let them break it, set it on fire and piece those shattered parts back together. We are ready to read about all those Consequences of your character's past—whether it's about dealing with loss, broken relationships, or family dramas. Bring them all in!

Is your leading lady planning a wedding? We hope our invitation is on its way! If your story revolves around weddings, marriages, baby fever or around those tiny humans themselves, we sure want a front-row seat! On our Something Borrowed, Something Blue reading list we feature stories where everything is just peachy or perhaps not?
Pet dragons, witch in hiding or humanoid best friend? We sure say: "Yes, please!" If your character slipped through the closet into a whole new world that is in no way like ours (or was born into one) we hope to join her on her newest conquest! All stories taking place in fictional worlds are welcome to join our Out Of This World reading list.
Action sure does speak louder than words. Is your character literal kick-ass? Or second Sherlock Holmes? Perhaps a bounty hunter? If her motto is something along the lines of hunting bad guys, solving crimes, continuing with the family business… then what are you waiting for? Our Elementary, My Dear reading list is calling your name!
Big summer escape, Valentine's Day, Turkey season or a Christmas adventure? You know what? May it be winter, spring, summer or fall, whatever your main character celebrates, we're ready to join in and party with her! Our Four Seasons reading list is eager to become a home for stories taking place during one of the biggest holidays and celebrations all throughout the year.

Wolf's Oath Book 1: Oath Sworn
In Aralt ‘Wolf” syr Tremayne’s world, skyships sail above tidal extremes, crystal swords are Tuned, and the soul-touched inspire both awe and fear. The latter doesn’t phase him, he carries a Tuned blade, and as for the ships…Aralt prefers to keep his feet on solid ground. Having finally laid to rest the ghosts of his past, he is unprepared when the grave gives one of them back. To his shame, it isn’t the one he wants. Lian Kynsei’s arrival upends Aralt’s life, but there is nothing he can do about it. Oath-bound to Lian, the last of a priestly clan, he is now defender of the scion of a faith he no longer shares. But the boy Aralt once knew is gone. In his place is a reckless, traumatized teen who can light the sky on fire. The more they get reacquainted, the less Aralt likes him—and the feeling is mutual. As revenge against a common enemy boils in his blood, Aralt struggles to do his oath-sworn duty and secure sanctuary for the heir-apparent to a mystical dynasty. But instead of safety, every step brings them closer to danger: sky pirates, cannibals, and a relentless soulless scourge unleashed by their enemy are all intent on killing Lian—or worse. Death, Aralt realizes, might be the greater mercy. ---------------------------------------------------------- What to Expect: Character-driven Plot Novel Pacing (which I accept isn't typical for serials) Elaborate Worldbuilding (you gotta pay attention) Soul-bonded Swords Sentient Wolves Longish Chapters What Not to Expect: Litrpg (sorry!) Harem (not sorry!) Magic System Short Chapters Dancing Bears (at least so far) Seriously, this is a second-world low fantasy/science-fantasy featuring a strong, but flawed male protagonist, a cheeky teenage boy that’s driving him crazy, a wee bit o’ Scots flavor, and a whole lot of culture clashing. I’m preparing to relaunch this story on Kindle once the second and third books are ready and I’d love some feedback as I move through those revisions. I'm serious about the feedback. All comments are welcome. I'll name a characters after you. And kill them, if you want. :) Oh, did I mention soulless assassins and cannibals? Yeah, Aralt’s day is not getting any better. cover image by brosedesignz

Hardcore OP-ness
Most people pray for good health, a loving family, and to win the lottery. I asked “Can you send me to a game-like fantasy-style world? It can't be too unrealistic, but also, it would be nice if I was immortal to some degree. Oh yea, no rape or slavery either, cause then I'll have to spend the whole time trying to create a perfect society, and I'd rather not have to deal with all that nonsense. No other players either, cause that always creates a ton of annoying drama, and I just want to have a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable time.â€Three years later, after I had completely forgotten about all that… well, better late than never I suppose. The moral of this story, is to be careful what you wish for; also, cuteness is justice, so don't complain if adorable bunnies beat you to death and devour your corpse.(Warning: This story includes profanity, numbers, humanity, nudity, uncomfortable realism in a fantasy-world, awkward but mild sexual-content, descriptive violence and gore, nekomimi, necrophilia, bizarre and disturbing sexual-content, offensive language, plus all of the other things that disclaimers usually have to tell you about. Do not read this if you dislike transportation, virtual reality, fantasy, or other similar genres… or me, because I'm the author.)I'm only posting a few chapters on this site, but there are over 100 on my wordpress. https://mike777ac.wordpress.com/hardcore-op-ness/
