New couple news—we know who Raine Kingston's dating!
If you caught Awake in the City last Tuesday night, then you probably saw host Jackson Finch showing no mercy to After it All actor Raine Kingston while trying to find out about the new woman in his life. The Raine King stayed mum, though, delighting in tormenting his longtime friend. Well, Jackson, we're sorry to tell you we've got the story first, and it's the best Hollywood pairing we could hope for. Raine Kingston has fallen head over heels for Zeeked writer Emily Watts, and we here at Wally Hood Goes Hollywood couldn't be happier for them.
We sat down with Raine and Emily for an interview yesterday. The two lovebirds were clearly smitten with one another as they filled in some of the blanks, like where they met, and if it was love at first sight. They told us they first spotted one another in their Kundalini yoga class when Emily seemed greatly entertained by the attention some of their classmates were giving Raine.
"She wasn't one of the people who came up to talk to me every morning," Raine said. "I could tell she was laughing at me. Of course I had to find out who she was."
The Em-Girl insisted she was never laughing at him, just that the circus-type scene in their yoga class was funny to watch. She hadn't expected Raine to stop her after class for coffee, or to ask her out for dinner, but now she couldn't imagine her life if he hadn't.
You can catch these two in their first public appearance together tomorrow at Raine's After it All premiere. Emily confirms she'll be walking the red carpet with him, braving the flashbulbs and bravado. We'll be there too, capturing the moment, which you can read all about afterward right here on Wally Hood Goes Hollywood.
We don't know about you, but we love this new couple news, and we wish Emily and Raine all the best.
What do all you Hood-lums think?
"Wally Hood wrote this?" Olivia asked, looking up from the article about Emily and Raine she'd been reading on her phone. "He was actually nice to both of you."
Emily exchanged a glance with Raine. The real story of what had gone down with Wally yesterday was something only they and Wally knew, and it would probably stay that way. Emily had expected Wally to be upset when he found out she hadn't told him the truth about the photo Kami had sent, but then Wally had told her he'd been the one to take the photo of her and Raine at her apartment. He swore he hadn't been following her, and said he'd been in the neighborhood, remembered a question he'd had about her next column, and had decided to stop by.
Emily had managed to keep it together when Wally told her that. Not because she believed him, but because it had made her feel better about a decision she'd come to, which was the condition she had mentioned in her text message to him on Saturday. She'd told Wally she would give him the real story about her and Raine, and he could even do an exclusive interview with both of them, but he had to agree to end their business partnership. She wouldn't write any more columns for his site after the two more that had already been drafted. Emily liked Wally, but she knew continuing to work together would be a disaster for both of them. He would always feel as though he could ask her questions about her and Raine, and she would be resentful of him using their working relationship to try and get answers out of her.

Surprisingly, Wally had agreed. Emily had arranged a time for him to come to her place and talk to her and Raine, and the interview had gone well. Wally had been in a good mood, even cracking jokes with them and hanging around after they were done to talk about a preseason football game with Raine.
The story had run this morning on Wally Hood Goes Hollywood, and Emily and Shelby had arrived at Raine's house for dinner just as Jackson Finch had texted Olivia the link to it. Jackson wanted to know if he'd really read that after Raine had refused to tell him anything just last week.
"Wally's okay most of the time," Emily told Olivia, raising her voice to be heard above another conversation happening beside them. "As long as you're on his good side, I guess, which I think we still are. I worked with him for a while."
There were only six people in Raine's dining room, but it was noisier and livelier there than the last party Emily remembered being at. Raine sat to her left, and Shelby sat to her right. Across the table were Olivia and Matt, along with another close friend of Raine's who'd introduced himself as Aiden.
Olivia's phone chimed and she glanced at it, then chuckled. She handed her phone to Raine, who smirked at what he saw on the screen. He put his arm around Emily's shoulders and let her read, too.
Tell Raine I'm going to clobber him in a new sketch on my show. I'm thinking of calling it "Raine Kingston's Interpretive Yoga Headlines." Payback, buddy. Payback.
The message was another one from Jackson. Emily had to bite down on her lip to keep from bursting into laughter at the thought of what that sketch might look like.
"Someone isn't happy he got scooped by Wally Hood," Olivia commented. She still looked amused. "He tried so hard to get the details during your interview, too."
"Jackson's been on Planet NyQuil for the last week," Raine shot back, passing Olivia her phone. "Tell him to go back to sleep. If he does the sketch, I'll just respond with YouTube webisodes featuring my new character, Crackson Pinch, late night talk show host out of his mind on cold meds. In fact, let me text him that." Raine pulled his phone out of his pocket and began typing furiously.
"So you're friends with Jackson, too?" Emily asked Olivia.
"Unfortunately yes," she joked. "He's been a thorn in my side for years."
"Don't listen to her," Raine said, still typing on his phone. "She and Matt are over at Jackson's place every weekend for dinner. She adores him and they both take great pleasure in conspiring against me."
Olivia continued. "Raine had the bright idea once, after I'd moved to New York and had started dating Matt, that we should all bar hop together. That was how I met Jackson."

"We promised to never speak of that night again," Raine warned her.
Olivia ignored him and leaned across the table. "Ask Raine about his opinion on magic marker mustaches sometime."
Raine looked at the ceiling. "For the five-millionth time, it wasn't about the mustache. I had an audition the next afternoon."
"Quit your whining. I saved you with camouflage makeup."
"Which I'm sure the casting director noticed, hence no callback."
"As a casting director myself, I'm going to have to say no to that one. But I can see why you're still upset." Olivia gestured to the dining room décor. "I mean, just look at this rundown shack you live in that totally doesn't overlook the city and have an infinity pool and its own fitness room and home theatre. Losing out on that part has obviously affected your career."
"She has a point," Emily told him.
"Not you too," he groaned. "Liv, stop winning over my girlfriend. I need her on my side."
"I'll save the rest of the dirt on him for while we get ready for the premiere tomorrow," Olivia said to Emily.
Emily grinned, then turned to Shelby. She started to ask her if she could borrow one of her clutch purses for the premiere, but paused mid-sentence when she saw Shelby wasn't listening. Aiden had moved his chair to the end of the table, closer to Shelby, and the two of them had their heads bent together, talking about something she couldn't overhear. She saw Shelby's face light up as she nodded emphatically at whatever Aiden had just said. Emily watched both of them push their chairs back a moment later.
"Shelby hasn't seen the killer view from your backyard yet," Aiden announced to Raine. "We're going to fix that."
"We'll join you out there in a couple of minutes," Raine answered, touching Emily's knee. She put her hand on top of his, watching Aiden guide Shelby out of the room.
Olivia followed Emily's gaze. She gave a knowing smile. "He's secretly a matchmaker, you know." She nudged her head in Raine's direction.
Raine held up his hand. "Here you go with this again. It's all urban legend."
"Oh hush, you. You're a total romantic at heart and you know it." Olivia turned to Emily. "He introduced Matt to me, and Jackson to his wife. Somehow he just knows when it will work."
"I know nothing, except that we need more wine." Raine leaned over to kiss Emily's cheek, then got up from his chair.
"Should we take a bottle outside?" Emily asked.
"In a while. Let's give Shelby and Aiden some time out there alone." He winked at her.
"I'll help you find the wine," Emily said, standing up. She walked with Raine into the kitchen.
He stopped in front of a wine rack in the corner. "More merlot, maybe," he decided, reaching for a bottle.
Emily didn't hear him. She had grabbed her phone from where she'd left it on the counter earlier in the evening and was reading a text Wally had sent her while they'd been having dinner.
Thought you'd want to know that Cory and Jesse's song got pulled offline tonight. I've heard two different stories about why and am trying to get confirmation. There's a rumor Cory and Jesse had a disagreement about the publishing and profit split, but I also heard Kami asked Cory to take it down because she was upset about all the media focus on you. I'll let you know what I find out.
Emily closed the message and put her phone back on the counter. She looked up to see Raine at her side, holding the bottle of merlot.
"Is everything okay?" he asked.
"Everything's great," she told him, and she meant it.
It didn't matter to her why the song had disappeared, and if she was honest, she hadn't thought much about it for the last week. Maybe that was because Cory and Jesse weren't part of her world anymore, and she wouldn't let anything they did or anything the tabloids wrote get her down. Not as long as she focused on the people in her life who truly mattered.
One of those people stood beside her right now, watching her with nothing but warmth in his eyes. Emily tipped her chin up so she could look at Raine. There was something she'd wanted to tell him since their weekend away, which she had started to say at least four times during their flight home. She hadn't, though—the timing hadn't seemed quite right. Now it did.
She wasn't sure if Raine was reading her mind, because as soon as she thought about the words she wanted to say, she heard them cross his lips.
"Love you." His fingers brushed against her cheek.
"Love you, too."
Raine set the wine bottle on the counter. And then, Emily found herself lost in his kiss.
