《Pipe Dream || Timothée Chalamet》01

"Adeline let's go, we have to get on the road" my mother agitatedly spoke as she gathered the rest of the bags.
Today is the day that I move away from my small town in Maine to the biggest city in America... New York.
I take a final look at my childhood room as I shut the door and walk downstairs. My mom gives me a soft smile as we walk out the front door and to her car, which is packed full of my things.
I always dreamed of the day I got to leave this gossip filled town and move on to the big city and attend my Dream college, but now as we leave it seems more bittersweet.
We pull out of the driveway and begin our 6 hour journey.
As we drive I take in the surroundings of the town that I've spent the last 19 years in. Good and bad memories flood my head of what my life was here as I prepare myself for a new beginning.
"Are you excited to finally meet your roommates?" My mom questions while her eyes are fixated on the road.
All students attending Columbia University got a list of their roommates and their information a month ago so I took it upon myself to introduce myself early so we could break the ice before we meet. Turns out all three of us are very similar and we've really hit it off.
"Yea I am, but I'm nervous" I slightly laugh to my mother, as my thoughts begin to flood my brain.
"Well I'm sure you'll do fine. You just have to get used to the city life" she responds, her eyes still not leaving the road.

"Almost there, just a few more minutes my mother gleams at me. Sometimes I think she's more excited that I'm moving to New York and pursuing my dreams than I am.
I text my roommates as my mom attempts to parallel park on the streets of New York right in front of my dorm.
I step out of the car, my eyes widen at the beautiful building in front of me. I spin on my heels as I take in the city, feeling like a little kid in a movie.
I'm quickly snapped out of my thoughts as I hear two screaming girls coming my way. As I turn around I see the two girls that I'll be spending this year with practically sprinting out of the front doors of our dorm building.
I smile wide as they approach with open arms. We all take each other in an embrace as my smile grows even wider.
Wen we pull apart we begin to grab my many boxes out of my mothers SUV.
As I enter my new room my eyes trail over the sight in front of me. The room is quite similar to the model room I saw when I visited last summer.
To the left is the 'kitchen', which really just consists of a microwave and a small refrigerator.
Along the left wall is a bunk bed, which Ashley and Eden already claimed, leaving me with the twin size bed along the right wall, which I don't mind. I prefer that one anyways.
On the middle wall is a desk that sits underneath a window, with shutters to block out the light. The shutters are open revealing the beautiful view of the city from the 10th floor.

"I know it's small but after we kick freshman years ass we can move into a real apartment together with a bathroom and everything" Eden speaks as she enters behind me, Ashley and my mother trailing behind her.
I laugh as her words speak truth. "I will be looking forward to that day"
—————
It is now late and with the help of my two roommates and my mom, I've unpacked all my things and lightly decorated my area of the room.
On my bed, I have just plain white bed sheets along with a white duvet on top with some throw pillows on top of my real ones. Above the headboard I have my many polaroids from back home. They consist of pictures of my friends and I, concerts I've been to, and a few other random things.
Saying goodbye to my mom was the hardest part of today. Watching her drive away knowing I won't see her until thanksgiving pains me.
Now I sit with Ashley and Eden on my small twin size bed, as we try to find a movie to watch on my Mac laptop that was gifted to me from my grandparents as a college present.
"What about Call Me By Your Name?" Eden asks clicking on the movie cover to read the synopsis of the movie.
"Ohhh it has Timothée Chalamet in it, I'm so down" Ashley laughs as she practically drools over the actor.
"Yea okay, that sounds good" I laugh along with her.

The World Below
A place of myth and mystery, the Below is spoken of by few with any real consideration, and fewer with any true belief. After all, a realm filled with magic and monstrosities beyond imagining would be ridiculous, especially existing beneath one's very feet. Someone would have found it by now, through science, even if rumor dictated that it was able to "choose" who entered it. More wishful magic nonsense. ...Right? Note: This is a story on dungeon exploration, not a dungeon core/sentient dungeon!
