Standing in the elevator and listening to the woman beside him patiently with his blonde locks bouncing slightly every time he would nod, his blue eyes still holding the same twinkle from all those years back and the expressions changing from impressed to shocked and then to just an encouraging smile, Taehyung still looked as beautiful as ever. Even after seventeen years, the blonde was still captivating.
Jungkook's heart raced even more when he saw the door to the elevators closing. He wanted to run but his legs didn't supported. He wanted to call Taehyung's name but what came out of his throat was a mere whisper. His hands shook as he saw the doors closing.
The two men looked at the ravenette in confusion. They were clueless as the man who was talking on phone was now suddenly shaking. The ravenette stumbled and he would have fell if the two boys hadn't came in action at the right time. Both of them held the boy by his shoulder but Jungkook shrugged them off when his mind finally came back in action.
He just saw the boy he had been searching since years.
The boy wiped his tears and ran towards the elevators. Punching the buttons, he cursed angrily when no elevator was available. Without wasting any time, he ran towards the stairs.
Praying the almighty to help him find the blonde, the boy ran down the stairs like crazy. Checking every floor for the blonde, he ran here and there with his breathe getting heavy every time he would not be able to see Taehyung on any floor.
His legs were shaking, cells screaming at the ravenette to calm down and stop for a moment but Jungkook wasn't ready to let Taehyung go this time but not everything happens as per our plan.
The boy bend down and placed his hands on his knees as he huffed defeatedly. Standing at the ground floor, Jungkook cursed his faith and the tears that he was able to hold inside somehow broke the barrier and came flowing out onto the cheeks, his hairs a mess by now as sweat dripped down from them even when it was winters in Paris.
People around him didn't stop to even glance at him. Everyone was busy in enjoying themselves while Jungkook closed his eyes in disappointment. He finally let his legs give up and sat on the floor on his knees. A business tycoon whose name is enough to finalise a deal was sitting on the ground and crying on his destiny.....
A powerful person whose name only dominate the business field was crying helplessly.
But they say, its not money who makes you strong, its your beloved who controls your position. You are strong if they are beside you and weak if they are gone.

Jungkook felt like he was standing on the same spot where he was seventeen years ago. He lost Taehyung again. The boy didn't try to hide his weak self from anyone as he let his tears roll down his cheeks. Maybe, God was punishing him for not valuing Taehyung earlier, for not realising what he was losing slowly due to his irresponsible actions. Maybe, it was his punishment that even when the blonde was just a few feet away from him just a few minutes ago, he couldn't beg for his forgiveness.
The ravenette was so disappointed in himself as well as angry at the same time. He wanted to say so many things to the blonde but when Taehyung was in front of him, he couldn't even call his name. He felt like he should just accept his fate and give up.
He was not deserving enough of Taehyung's forgiveness.
The blonde looked happy and he had no right to destroy them once again just the way he did all those years back.
More tears came rushing out of his eyes and the world blurred. Jungkook clenched his fists to control himself from screaming in pain. His heart was bleeding and he couldn't even console it.
He had lost everything.
This is what he deserves. This is how he will be spending the rest of his life.
Crying, regretting, repenting......alone.
But then again, how will he be able to accept it so easily? It had been seventeen years since he was searching Taehyung even when he had no hope and now, when he knew that Taehyung was in Paris, somewhere around him, how will he be able to leave everything behind?
How will he be able to close his eyes knowing that his husband was in Paris and if he wanted, he could have tried at least once and maybe, just maybe...things would have turned out in his favour.
The small ray of hope made the boy wipe his tears immediately. He stood up and took deep breathes to calm himself. People passing by him looked at him with confusion as well as sympathy but the ravenette didn't care.
He will do anything to get Taehyung back.
Yes, he was selfish.
He will not give up so easily. He will turn the world upside down but not give up on the blonde.
He will give everything to Taehyung....every fucking thing he had snatched from him.
And he was very close to his peace.
His love.
The boy patted his pockets for his phone as he had to call someone and its when he realised that he had left the phone where he had seen Taehyung. The boy immediately took the elevator and composed himself. The door opened with a ting sound and the ravenette walked towards the reception.

The lady behind the desk smiled at the ravenette and before Jungkook could say anything, she stood up and spoke-
''Mr Jeon....Your phone is here.'' She extended the phone towards the ravenette who took the device and faked a smile towards the receptionist who blushed. Jungkook looked at his phone which was in its best condition even after falling so hard on the ground.
Perks of having an expensive phone.
The boy turned around and took the elevators to go out of the building.
He was about to exit when his eyes fell on the same lady who he had saw with Taehyung in the elevator. The boy immediately walked over to her and stopped himself from getting excited.
''Um...Excuse me!!'' He called making the lady turn towards him and raise her eyebrow in question.
''Yes? How may I help you?'' She asked confusedly. Jungkook looked around himself before looking at the woman back.
''Do you know Jeo- Kim Taehyung?'' He asked hesitantly making the lady think for a moment before shaking her head.
''I don't know any Kim Taehyung.'' She replied still confused.
''No Ma'am...please try to remember. You were with him in the elevator around half an hour ago.'' Jungkook asked desperately making the lady look at the boy sympathetically.
''I am sorry, gentleman but I don't know any Kim Taehyung. You must be mistaken.'' She replied smiling and Jungkook got irritated. He just saw the woman with his husband just a few minutes ago in the elevator with his own eyes then how can she say that she don't know the blonde so confidently.
''Loo-'' He was about to snap but controlled himself. The boy closed his eyes tightly making the lady look at him with furrowed eyebrows and she became more confused when she saw Jungkook opening his eyes at the speed of light as if he remembered something.
''J-Just a minute...'' With that, he unlocked his phone and went to the gallery. He clicked open a picture. Zooming in, he showed it to the woman who looked at it confusedly first but then a look of realisation appeared on her face making Jungkook look at her expectantly.
''Him....I was asking about him.'' The ravenette asked again. Though it was a picture from seventeen years ago but Taehyung still looked almost same making the lady recognise him immediately.
''Oh he? He isn't Kim Taehyung, Gentleman...you are mistaken.'' The lady replied smiling making the boy confused.
"Huh?"
''He is V....one of the most talented painter out there. It was his exhibition today and I must say, I am very impressed with his work. His paintings hide a deep, sad feelings behind those vibrant colours..as if he want to show the world that everything that shines isn't always about happiness, sometimes, you have to burn inside to produce that light.'' The lady explained making the boy feel a pang in his heart.
''You should also see his work. Though most of the paintings are sold but you will still get to see them as they will be handed over to the buyers tomorrow.'' The lady added further making the boy nod. There was a lot of things going in his mind so he only thanked the lady who smiled and walked away.
The ravenette didn't know what he was feeling but he knew that he wasted seventeen years of his life only because of his carelessness. Only if he had known Taehyung's interests, it wouldn't had been hard to find him.
The most precious seventeen years of his life which he should had spent with Taehyung making beautiful memories with him.....he wasted them due to his arrogant and rude behaviour.
Only if he had asked Taehyung once what he want to do in future, maybe they would have been a happy family today.
The boy sighed defeatedly and walked towards the car which was waiting for him.
Once settled in the backseat, Jungkook looked at the screen of his phone where Taehyung smiled his signature boxy smile towards the camera. It was a picture of both of them sitting on the couch with a respectable distance between both of them while a cake was placed on the table in front of them. If anyone else saw that picture, he would never say that both of them were husbands.
Jungkook still remember the day. It was their first wedding anniversary. Jungkook was getting ready to go to a party his friend was throwing but he had to cancel his plan when Namjoon and Jin crashed at his place to celebrate the occasion. Taehyung had baked Jungkook's favourite lemon cake with his own hands. The ravenette was annoyed but he was forced to sit with Taehyung and cut the cake. That's when Jin had clicked that picture.
While Taehyung appeared to be super happy and excited, Jungkook's face showed utter annoyance.
He just wanted to get up from there and run away.
The ravenette sighed for the thousandth time today, his thumb caressing Taehyung's face on the screen of the phone while he looked at it with so many unsaid emotions.
Only if he could go back in time and change everything.
But there is a saying....
Time once gone never comes back, neither comes back the person you lost.
But Jungkook was determined. He may not be able to bring back the time but he will do anything to bring back his husband back home.
A home which was home only because of Taehyung.

Moonlight follows the stories of Claire, Jayden, and Seraphine, as they learn to control these powers that desire to consume them. Author Notes: Hello! This isn't my first attempt at writing a story, and it isn't even my first attempt at writing this particular story, but I'm not in any way what I would call "experienced". I decided to upload my writing here because I just wanted to get my ideas out there, and I wanted to get some constructive criticism for my writing from the RRL community. All comments are welcome, but please try to keep them positive and constructive! If you leave a rating, I would appreciate it if you left a short explanation of what you liked and what I can improve on. I'll be uploading each chapter as I finish them, but this is still the first draft so anything and everything is subject to change. The cover art is drawn by me, but I'm in no way married to it. I just wanted something that showed the three magical sources, as I picture them in my head. If you do any art based on this story, send it to me! I would love to see it. I'll stop talking now, I hope you enjoy the story!
