I am deaf, hard of hearing! Anything I don't hear,

Torture of terrific sounds I don't bear.

Cars are running blowing whistle all around,

Big Buses, Trucks are making ear bursting sound.

I am looking at these carriages in wonder,

Horns of these vehicles are not pushing into my ear.

As I am bonafide member of the deaf society,

No hullabaloo, no bustle and clamour inspirits my curiosity.

What a luck I have! No sound of blasting,

Hurting the membranes of my hearing.

There is talking of noise polution everywhere,

I am witnessing it in the daily newspaper.

Everybody is suffering from acute noise pollution,

Everyday, every moment and in every situation.

During Puja festival, at wedding ceremony and in a musical night,

Random playing of filmy songs by sound box is a common sight!

Voices of men don't have a care for making it low,

Rather they do raise their coarse volume like a crow.

Alarming sound, irritating volumes are hurting,

Our sense organs and strength of hearing.

Disgusting! I did have a feeling of disgusting,

As initially I was not hard of hearing.

Yes, once I had hearing ability,

I had lost it due to sound pollution and by its stringent cruelty.
