《love in between -Khun x reader- Tower of god-》Ep. 23

I yawned as I walked through the hall to my room. I guess it's 'our' room. I invaded Khun's room so that new member can get a bed. Good thing he took the biggest room with that queen-sized bed or else the new guy would have slept on the non-existent couch.
"evening," Khun yawned softly beside me. "hey-"
"whoops~ sorry~" Dann walked past, intentionally bumping into Khun. Khun towered over me, cornering me on the wall with both hands beside my head. "that shit face!" Khun muttered under his breath, looking at the retreating figure. when he turned his head around, I could see Khun's face slowly turning red. my face was redder though, unfortunately. Khun was never the type to break out into a blushing mess.
"S-Sorry..." He muttered, standing up straight again, clearing his throat. "uh... yeah." my heart was beating itself up to my mouth. I can't lie to myself, I wanted that moment to last forever.
~
he placed a pillow in the middle to separate us from each other. "there. now go to bed. It's late." He jumped onto the bed, making it bounce slightly. "yeah..." I yawned and rested my head on the pillow.
How is this fair??? the bed was more comfortable than the rest of the lodge???
"Damn prick," I muttered softly, under my breath. I could hear Khun's tiny snoring as I smiled to myself. I turned my body around, facing him to meet his peaceful expression. 'fuck. God kill me now.'
He's damn H O T.
I shook the thought away from my brain and closed my eyes shut.
~
My eyes fluttered open. I tried pulling my hand up to stretch my body. keyword; tried.
my face flushed in a red hue as I felt the warmth on my back and around my waist, holding my arms down.
'what the fuck what the fuck what the fuck-'
I wiggled under his tight hug. I could feel him stir in his sleep and his grip lessening. with one last struggle, I was finally free.
And face plummeted to the floor.
"(y/n)!? what's wrong?" Khun shot up, looking at the floor while I laid there. "yo-you..." I hid my face behind my hands.
from the gaps of my fingers, I could see his face blushed as he realized that he woke up in my side of the bed. "are you o-okay?" he held out a hand. I took it and he pulled me up back to bed.
"I think so..."
we both stayed in the awkward silence. "we-well, today is the day of the exam! Let's go!" I robotically walked out of the room.
~
"oh... that's why you can't trust machines..." Dann mumbled regretfully. lightning appeared on Ran's hand and Dann backed up. I stared dumbly on the empty dead end. "Ra-Ran?! what's wrong?! although I made a slight mistake, we're a team!"
"who was the one to play with a toy during the test huh?"
"well, that..." the wall behind Dann started cracking up, I looked to my left as a response to the noise.
the blow knocked me to the wall on the opposite side of the hole. "oof-"

just as I tried standing up again, I was facing a large, 4 armed, long needle wielding thing. "what the-"
"Mole or baldy?" Dann asked. "you run, (y/n) take the mole." Ran ordered. "got it."
Ram charged to the bald creep, and while the mole man was distracted, I sneaked behind him. "hello~"
he turned around and ran into my open fist. "whoops! accident. sorry~" I picked him up by the collar. "you! let go!" I threw him to the wall. "oh~ I shouldn't have done that~ mistake!"
Ran sweat dropped at my antics.
the cannons stopped and there was a long beeping sound. it sliced through the air.
"B team wins the test!"
~
"(y/n) can you come in for a second?" Khun called from inside the room. "what?" I opened the door and was instantly greeted by a screen. "alive..?"
I read the rest of the message. "Lol, you got owned by a device." I pointed at the one dollar text. "who would make such a foolish joke!" he complained, placing the phone on the table in an agitated manner.
"Khun!" Apple's voice rang through Khun's pocket. Khun heaved a sigh, "Apple? you don't usually call me."
"Sorry, did I bother you?" I sat down in front of him and rested my head on top of my palm, while my other hand began tapping the table.
"no, what is it?" Khun's face turned into a blank stare as he played with my fingers, not willingly I would guess. "remember when you asked me to find the devil's right arm?"
a wicked smirk grew across his unfairly handsome face, "oh, yeah. I remember. Hatz said he lost a fight with him, so I was curious and also wanted to beat him and show off to Hatz-" I sighed. He and Hatz never got along. it got even worse when I pretended to be one of Hatz's fangirls.
yep, that was a brutal night. Khun nearly choked Hatz when I said, 'Hatz has such a perfect build and he's so handsome and strong~'. I know I shouldn't have said that, but I don't know why Khun nearly strangled a man to death just because I said a random sentence. weird.
unless...
Nah, that can't be right.
there's no way.
"I found him." I felt his warm fingers stopped tugging at mine. "what?"
"found him where?"
"someone posted on the box. I think his picture was taken by accident. his looks are similar to what you described."
"let's go catch him." Khun proposed. "that's a stupid idea, but we're all stupid here, so let's do it." I agreed with a defeated sigh. "by the way, your frenemy relationship with Hatz will drive me insane."
~
Khun brought me, Nobic and Ran to the hand of Arlene. Our goal, find and defeat the devils right hand.
I wore a (dark color)colored hood on top of my (2ndf/c) sleeveless sweater and a (r/c) that checkered skirt with black leggings underneath. I had my favorite brown colored boots on and of course the (f/c) scarf around my neck.
I sweat dropped at Khun. "you have a bad taste for fashion. He gave a glare, "you have a basic sense of fashion."

I laughed, "but it doesn't mean that you don't look good."
He went quite. Ooh, got him!
Ran had his hook out for the world too see. "probably should hide that don't you think? I mean, don't let your enemy see that you're armed." if there is any.
"Unlike you, I don't want to use to much shinsu." his eyes still focused on the road ahead, "he-hey! I rarely use water magic!"
We got closer to the hand of Arlene. The structure was bigger then expected. "don't you think we should have brought Dann with us?" I asked Khun, stepping up next to him. I pulled back my hood from my face.
Wearing such cloth makes me remember someone I hate.
"Ran, Nobic, there are traps around here. Eliminate them. I'll support you." the two boys jumped off their own way. "(y/n), stay here with me. Watch my back."
I stepped a few pace behind him. Not far. "excuses~ you just want me to stay beside you."
I said it as a joke, but I didn't know that was his actual motif.
The screen on Khun's lighthouse suddenly died. His annoyance waves through like the sea. "what are those two thinking!?"
His lighthouse flashed up again suddenly, written on it 'you're caught in a trap.'
Khun looked behind him in an instant. I kept my eyes glued up front.
I gasp, snatching a red arrow aimed towards him. I held back a groan as my fingers brushed against its sharp edge.
"(y/n)..!" he rushed to my side, holding my hand to check on the wound. "it's not deep, it's fine-"
We were distracted. Another one was shot, passing though his heart. Khun fell with a thump.
Before I could react, He pulled my hand to the ground. I fell face first onto the sand next to him. "play dead." he whispered.
I looked at him questioningly but closed my eyes anyways.
I heard the sand shifting. "huh? I thought they would be stronger then that?" it hissed, "it was quite boring."
It rambled on, dragging a hand towards Khun's earrings. I felt his grip tightened on our intertwined fingers. I held myself back from flinching.
Khun grabbed his wrist with his free hand, "who are you?" he stared. I jumped up, grabbing a dagger from my armed inventory and pressing it against his neck threateningly.
"h-h-how are you still alive!? I set a trap for both of you-!"
Khun opened his cloak a little, pulling out his armor inventory. "I bought this just in case. And it was quite helpful. Oh, one of your shot missed by the way."
"how can you have such a pricey stuff as an E regular...?"
"my dad gave it to me. Well, at least I believe so." he gave the snake a dead stare. "so? Who gave you the order to kill us?"
The snake grabbed my wrist, "I'm not going to lose a girl in a one on one fight!" he pulled my wrist. I didn't budge. Instead, I raised my other arm tight around his neck, plunging the dagger into his back with the other.
He screamed in pain, and trembled against my grip. "stay still, or a needle is going through your neck next." I warned. He hissed under his breath.
"so? Who told you to do this?" Khun pressed on. I gripped tighter on the handle, pushing it deeper. His blood dripped on my favorite boots.
"the... Rabbit ears! A girl with rabbit ears! I didn't see her clearly because it was to dark! She said she'd pay me if I killed everyone sneaking in the hand of Arlene!"
"what else?" Khun stepped closer, making the snake more nervous. "Tha-that's all I know! That's the first time I met her!"
I heard his tail shift behind me. "let me go! I told you everything I know!"
"then you're useless. Kill him." a long bang pierced through the air. Khun's armored inventory protected me from the snakes tail that was about to swipe off my life. "slicing your throat seems kind of boring huh?"
He went silent. After a few seconds, the snake coughed violent. I released him and he fell to the sand with a loud thump, choking for air.
His body went limp, water running from every hole in his head. "gruesome." Khun commented, admiring the mess I made. "now that I think about it, we could have used that for a worst situation." He sweat dropped.
It's a skill that has been passed down to me. Only heirs can learn it. Though I can only use it once a day. Maximum is twice, but then I would be to tired to fight with shinsu.
"anyways, a light bearer who can hack like this and hired a killer, who are they trying to bait." Khun's eyes went squinted at the message.
He inserted a USB looking thing into the lighthouse. Another loud boom rang through the sky. "what are those two doing?" I sighed, staring at Khun typing into his lighthouse rapidly. Man, I wonder what it feels like to have a box follow you everywhere. "apple...?" Khun mumbled under his breath.
"we gotta go!" Khun grabbed my hand and dragged me with him to the hand of Arlene.
~
"nobic! Ran!" I didn't waste my time and rushed towards them, but I was held back by Khun. "rabbit ears." he eyed the girl with rabbit ears.
The girl raised a stick like switch, "stop!! Don't make another move or everyone dies here!"
"I installed a bomb inside the hand of Arlene. If I press this button, the bomb will activate!"
I tugged on Khun's sleeve, not letting go.
~
"he came here to kill you guys himself! Yes, you, Khun Aguero Agnes and that girl who always stays beside you!" she pointed at us. "yes, that's right. But I'm going to let you go this once. Run away Khun Aguero Agnes."
"hey, you slayer nominee, you should practice being more evil." Khun snickered. "the girl beside me is more evil then you."
"you're trying to let us go on purpose, aren't you?" the slayer turned away.
Ran suddenly lifted a finger, shooting at the girls hand. Nobic rushed at her, grabbing the switch.
The slayer stopped him at place. "that skill..!"
She suddenly pressed the button. The whole building came crushing down on us. "Khun!" I pulled his arm, "Mr. Khun!"
Bam..?
No, my main focus should be...
I was pulled into a tight embrace, protecting me from the rubble above. "wait, Khun-"
