《Kita Shinsuke》Chapter 25

When Kita started crying, I wasn't sure what to do. He had been there with Y/N when it happened, now they're in a hospital bed and Kita's crying. I would've asked them to help tell him it'd be fine but...

Now I couldn't even see them, I'm not even sure what happened. I slowly went to take out my phone to call Phil. I tapped on the screen hesitantly dialing his number.

I held the phone to my ear and listened to the beeping that came every second. "Hello! Atsumu, this is rare you never call me." He sounded happy. "Usually that's Y/N." He laughed into the phone.

I regret calling. I took the phone away from my ear and handed it to Osamu. Normally I like talking to Phil but right now I just couldn't. Osamu stared at the phone before finally taking it. A conversation started up quickly after that.

I sat down beside Kita who was still staring into his palms. Should I pat his back? Should I tell him it's gonna be ok? What do I do? What do I do? Oh god...

"Thank you Phil." I could hear Osamu say. As soon as the phone call ended the halls went silent again. After a small while of the silence Osamu started to talk again. "Phil's on his way now. He'll be here soon enough." He said.

"Good." I muttered. For a second I thought we were going to go back into that awkward silence but thankfully lots of surgeons and nurses came running through the halls. Some running out of Y/N's room others running in.

I couldn't make out to much of what they were saying but I think I heard one of them say 'they're awake.' I think Kita heard it as well because he was no longer looking down.

The three of us watched as the surgeons and nurses ran around although none of them seemed to be distressed. That's a good sign, right?

The commotion continued for around 20 minutes until the nurses and surgeons stopped rushing. Everything was relaxed now, no more running or shouting. It wasn't exactly silent but it was quiet enough.

Eventually Phil came by rushing through the entrance, frantically looking around for us. Once he had spotted us he came sprinting over. His was average size and not too fat, around 60 years old. He was practically bald but the few patches of hair were grey. he had a mustache as well.

"Atsumu! Osamu!" He stopped to look at Kita but then started running again. "And other kid.." He called not knowing Kita's name. "What's going on?" He finally made it to our seats and looked down at us.

He immediately looked around for Y/N, who he would've liked to see at that moment. "Where's... Y/N?" He asked quietly still searching for them. "In there." Kita pointed to their room.

That was real blunt, even for you Kita. "What?!" He yelled. "Calm down, calm down." Osamu got up and put his arms between Kita and Phil. "Just sit down, we're still figuring it out.." Osamu whispered.

Phil slowly sat down beside Osamu and Osamu started to explain what happened from our point of view. About her arms, the problem and what Kita said. "I'm sorry for assuming..." Phil apologised to Kita quickly after hearing what had happened.

"Hm?" Kita looked over to the man before quickly looking back to the door. "I'm going to... Get some air." Kita said standing up. "I'll go wit-." I started. "No." He said before walking off.

I watched as Kita disappeared from my sights, he was walking so quickly that it was only a few seconds. "Is he always like that?" Phil asked quietly. "No..." I answered. "He's never like that." Osamu continued.

I walked through the halls of the hospital, originally I had planned to walk out the main door but after storming off in this direction, it'd be better to walk out the side door.

I'm not actually sure why I even stormed off in the first place. Maybe I just needed a break, a breath. I opened the side door and walked out of the hospital into the car park. It was chilly outside, I could see my breath like a cloud of smoke.

At that time lots of other things could've filled my mind but all that I could think of was Y/N's blood covered body.

It sent shivers down my spine to think of it but I just couldn't stop. In the back of my mind something was telling me it wasn't my fault but that thought was overrun by my self doubt.

I mean what else could've caused it, I probably tied their bandages to tight and then the blood stopping running through their body. Or maybe they aren't allowed to eat that sort of rice, or it was the bowl I used.

I obviously did something wrong, maybe it was my top. I was trying a new cleaner, maybe something in it was toxic. But then again if I hadn't done something their arms would've got worse and-

Oh yeah, they started squeezing their arms because of me. Each positive thing that came to mind was shut down by something that I had done.

If I had noticed that they weren't eating maybe they would be a bit better. If I noticed that they were being bullied maybe they would be a bit better. If I noticed that they were cutting they would be a lot better. The only conclusion was that it's my fault.

It's my fault.
