《Kita Shinsuke》Chapter 15

The next morning was the last day I had to make breakfast for everyone. Thank the gods. I walked out with bowls of rice for everyone. Once I had finished up the food for everyone I sat down beside Kita.
We had planned to have a barbeque once all the matches were finished. The managers and coaches had paid for it but hadn't told the teams about it.
"We should get going." Kita said standing up and putting his hand out to me. "Right." I took his hand and stood up. That day we played a match against Karasuno and Nekoma.
It was around mid-day and all the matches were finished. I had left the team to get the barbeque ready along with a few of the others. I just hope that none of the boys do something stupid.
I heard lots of people talking and the atmosphere changed a bit. More people were around, I turned and saw all the other teams. "Hello!" I waved to Atsumu and Osamu.
"Did you guys win?" I asked them. "Of course, who do you think we are?" Atsumu said to me flicking his hair to the side a bit.
"Come on, let's eat." I turned back around and headed to the tables of food. I started to hand out a bit of food to a few people. I walked around with a plate of rice balls.
I walked over to a group of girls and sat down beside them. "Hello guys." I said to them. "Hi!" Most of them said. "Want some?" I asked showing them the plate.
"Yes please!" One of them grabbed half of them. "Have them all." I laughed handing her the plate. She licked her lips and gobbled most of them down at once.

"Our ace is a big softie." I heard Kiyoko say from behind me. "At least that's better than having such a simple minded ace." Another girl said.
I knew from the sound of her voice that she was talking about Bokuto. "Oh Y/N, sit down." Kiyoko said pulling over a chair. "Thank you." I pulled the chair in front of me and sat down, my two legs on either side and letting my head sit on the top of it.
"Y/N what's it like on your team?" I heard Sakura ask. "Atsumu and Osamu, my brothers, are just..." I thought about what I should say. "How do I put it?" I mumbled.
I heard a few laughs from the girls at my side. "A lot, a lot of fighting." I laughed a bit. Until late that day we ate and talked, mostly about our teams or stuff like that. After we'd cleaned up the barbeque we got ready to leave.
Yachi and I walked out of the girls dorms and walked towards Kiyoko who was waiting for us. "Oh guys! I have to go to the bathroom." Yachi said putting her bags down.
"I'll take these to the bus for you." I said to her. "Thank you!" She called as she ran off towards the bathroom. Once she was out of sight I picked up her bags and started to walk towards the bus with Kiyoko.
"So I guess this is goodbye." I laughed awkwardly. "I guess it is." She replied. "Kiyoko! I'll take your bags!" A boy called Tanaka said grabbing Kiyoko's bags.
She didn't answer, those boys always did stuff like that but she never thanked them or anything. "Well goodbye!" I turned around. I walked a few steps forwards but heard Kiyoko call my name.

"Yes?" I flicked around to face her. "Your arms." She whispered looking at my arms. "They'll be fine." I laughed putting them behind my back. "Are you sure?" She asked me her face looking a bit gloomy.
"Of course!" I put on a huge smile. From behind me I could hear my brothers voice calling to me. "That's my queue to go." I turned on my heels and headed for our bus.
"Sorry guys!" I yelled to them. "Let me take your bags." Kita said softly. "You don't have to." I sighed. He ignored my remark and took the bags out of my hands.
"We should get on the bus now." I said taking a few steps forward. Atsumu pushed past me and hopped on to the bus. Kita had disappeared behind the bus and everyone was loading on to the bus.
When Kita finally appeared again I got on to the bus and he followed. Atsumu, Osamu and Suna sat at the back and Aran sat near the front.
I sat down near the middle of the bus and Kita sat beside me. It was late once the bus started around 9 I think. We would be home around 2 a.m and then we had to walk home.
I let out a sigh at the thought. "Are you tired?" Kita's voice asked. "A bit." I sighed. "You should rest." He said to me. "You don't mind?" I checked.
He shook his head slightly and I rested my head on to his shoulder. For most of the bus ride I rested my eyes only opening them to ask my brothers to....
"Shut the fuck up! It's 12, you know!" I shouted to them. "Osamu's being dumb!" Atsumu yelled. "And that matters why?" I asked him.
"I'm not being dumb he is!" Osamu shouted looking out the window. "Just try and get some rest ok?" I said to them my voice softened. "Yes Y/N." They said in unison.
"They'll be the death of me." I sighed looking forward again. I felt Kita's hand wrap around my shoulder and push my head on to his shoulder.
"We are almost there." He whispered to me. "Yeah.." I whispered lifting my hand up to his. I shouldn't do this... I can't turn back now... Oh god, oh god.
Before I could stop myself I had linked my fingers with his and nuzzled my head into his shoulder. I felt his fingers tighten around mine.
Is that good or bad? He probably doesn't want you to hold his hand. A voice in my head said, reminding me that it was there. Right...

Moonshot
Gregarious businessman Evin Tumble is fascinated by the sudden and inexplicable appearance of a low-orbiting moon. Specifically, he's interested in shooting it down with a giant cannon. The moon is only about eight miles overhead, but it's high enough and quick enough that nobody can reach it by balloon or airship. He hires our protagonists: taciturn Iseult Morrin, cheerful Sean Whelan, and nervous Íde Ceallaigh, to help him with his obsession. As our heroes are dispersed across the continent to perform tasks for Tumble, and the moon-hunt draws closer, they become increasingly suspicious of their benefactor's motives and true nature. Moonshot is a story centred around struggling with confidence, the difficulty of being an immigrant, and the duality of truth, all clad in the trappings of an urban fantasy. It is character-driven, from the heart, and based on tropes and ideas that are missing from a lot of contemporary fantasy (a push beyond the flawless-yet-somehow-still-needs-rescuing-by-an-oafish-man heroine trope, a touch of cosmic magic based on the shared geometries of Celtic and Arab art).

Ode to Fallen Angels
Jericho, the land of humanity, squirms in pain. Magic has been forbidden for so long in this so called "Age of Silence", that all Arcane knowledge has been presumed lost and irrecoverable, and the echoes of God's Will grow fainter with every passing year. The sight of Demihuman caravans is less frequent every day, as the likes of orcs and elves have learned to no longer beg for help from those who despise them. Clearly, they can expect more from the voracious wild lands than from humankind. Many have succumbed to despair, some driven mad by their fruitless efforts to bring back a Golden Age that they only ever read about in books. And in the middle of it all, in an old chapel lost in the Eastern lands, young Gabrielle lives in complete ignorance. She is another orphan living under the mercy of the Church of the Saints; one bearing the mark of evil in her red hair, the telltale sign of a Witch. In an Age of the Silent, the Prejudiced, and the Hateful, she clings to a single hope: that one day, be it in life or maybe after it all ends, she may find herself forgiven of her sin. The sin of being born.
