《FOR GOD SAKE KITA SHINSUKE! || KITA SHINSUKE [COMPLETED]》53: D-day

After their official warm up inside the main arena for a short time, Inarizaki shifted place towards sub arena for another round of warm up. In the meantime, Kita was in the middle of interview and Ayumu was standing at a turn nearby, waiting for him. Kita looks so professional at that moment. He even looked more mature than his age too. A smile crept up on her lips as her eyes were on him.
Once he finished with his interviewed, he returned to where Ayumu was. The girl had a big proud smile on her lips but quickly faded away when she realised something. Kita rose up his brows as a signal of , something off? . Ayumu breathed out and cupped Kita's face as she checked up on him.
"I should put some foundation on ya face before the interview~" She whinned. "Now, ya must be look darker in the camera. This place not even have enough lighting though. What if ya didn't turn out good in the television?" She huffed and Kita held her hands and put them down.
"What yer think I am? A star? A model? I am athelete. This is how I look." Kita said which made Ayumu's eyes furrowed. She poked his chest. "Dude, ya are the one who talk? For godsake Kita Shinsuke, tell me who acting like a model on runaway carpet and throwing his jacket away without a second thought?"
Kita smirked as he guided Ayumu to walk with him towards sub arena. His hand held Ayumu's and put them in his jacket pocket.
"Ya wanna say that to me yesterday, aren't ya?" He asked.
"Absolutely. That really piss me off. Ya take me out off my guard."
"I know. Yer brothers told me."
"Hah..I know they will." She glared at him.
"But I know ya will catch it for me."
"If ya did that again, I will let it fall on the court."
"Yeah?"
They arrived at the sub arena at last. Kita instantly joined the others warming up. Meanwhile Ayumu was standing beside their coach as they observed the players together. Time to time, the coaches would pin point out their mistakes so they could correct them and would not repeat in the match.
"It's time to go." Coach Kurosu said while glancing towards his watch.
"Okay. I'll tell them." Ayumu told him and off towards the court.
" Okay, we are off to go now. Time to get change." Ayumu announced, putting the members in stop. She made a gesture with her thumb, let's goㅡ and they nodded. Kita would repeat the anouncement again so everyone would be alert. Then, they gathered around as they ready to move. But, among the players, she recognised someone was missing.
One of her brother.
"Samu nii chan, did Tsumu go somewhere?" She asked her brother. Her question brought him to realisation that his twin was not among them. Osamu wasn't warming up with Atsumu just now but with Suna. So, his focus was away from his twin. He looked around them, his head went ahead and yanked backward, searching for his twin. Until, Ayumu noticed Osamu's worried face a second ago instantly changed to an irritated one. The sister turned to look at the same way only found Atsumu was talking with Kageyama at the other part of the court.

Damnㅡshe wasn't even noticed the whole Karasuno team was warming up together with Inarizaki in the same arena.
"Just join the others. I will get Tsumu. Tell Kita, me and Tsumu will catch up soon." Ayumu told him, patting her brother's arm.
"Sure then. Tsumu really piece of trash. He really make us worried for nothing." Osamu hissed as Ayumu softly chuckled.
As Osamu joined the others leaving, Ayumu went towards Atsumu.
"Tsumu! Don't wandering around and ask for fight!" Ayumu shouted from a few meter away to gain her brother's attention before she finally reached to his side. Atsumu and Kageyama turned towards her way. Ayumu softly smiled at Kageyama and nodded towards him. Then, she faced Atsumu.
"I didn't pick any fight okay." Atsumu argued.
"Sure it is. But now we need to go." Ayumu scolded and pulled Atsumu with her.
"See ya later Tobio-kun." Atsumu rose up his hand, excusing himself while Ayumu wasn't even loosened her grip onto Atsumu's shirt so that the brother would keep walking along with her.
"Sure, Atsumu-san." Kageyama replied and he added; "See you in court too Ayumu."
That almost put Ayumu in brake but she continued walking. She flashed him a quick smile. "Right, Tobio."
And her smile gone a second after she faced fowards again. Ayumu and Atsumu joined the others and the first thing Osamu did when he saw his twin was whacking the twin's waist that made Atsumu coughed. Then, the boys left for changed to their official jersey. Ayumu was waiting with coaches infront of the entrance door of the main court as that was the spot they agreed to gather at.
Whenever the team returned, Ayumu's heart became a whole car racing game within. The second game of Inarizaki was getting closer.
"One word or two from the manager?" Coach Kurosu offered her. Ayumu held her book tightly and pursed her lips as she looked at the team members.
"Once we enter the court, we are going to have our second match of Spring Tournament. And our opponent is, Karasuno Highschool. They might be a flightless crow before but remember they once a powerhouse school too. They got, Sawamura Daichi as their captain, Azumane Asahi as their ace, Nishinoya Yuu as their libero and Kageyama Tobio as their setter." She said. "No one expect they could beat Shiratorizawa but they did. I want ya to aware of what they capable of, so please don't look down on yer opponent. Keep playing as ya always do, just like what our captain and coaches always remind ya guys about. Okay? Gambare."
Perhaps no one noticed how shaky Ayumu was through her voice but Kita did notice. Her eyes even got teary as well. Mentally, he could only sigh. Ayumu was worried and all tense ever since a day before. More specifically, when she knew it was Karasuno.
"Miya, we are going at that way. They will enter from here." Coach Taro told her and Coach Kurosu nodded. Ayumu responded with a nod as well and gave last glance towards the team and about to follow the two coaches who already walked ahead. But Kita held her shoulder and spun her around.

"Forget about the result and focus on the game instead. Enjoy the game. Don't distract yerself with the future outcome. Understand?" Kita told her. Pursing her lips, she hummed. Kita pulled her towards him and kissed at the between of her eyes as Ayumu fluttered her eyes closed.
The members glanced towards one another secretly. It was nothing new if Kita and Ayumu showed their affection to one another infront of them but they always found it adorable and being all butterfly stomach as if it was rare of them. Only Ayumu could bring out another side of their captain.
Wishing them good luck again, Ayumu quickly followed the coaches' trail. Kita breathed out deeply and calmed his heart. He could feel the members had their eyes on him.
"Not like we play for her. But we know, if we lost the game, it not only affect us but our school, our cheer team and our manager, Miya herself. She got tense ever since yesterday when she knew our next opponent is Karasuno." Kita spoke."I didn't know what she was scared and worried about. But like Miya said just now, Karasuno beat Shiratorizawa which no one expected it. So if they beat us, they will surprise everyone once again. Unless, if we keep playing like we always in practise. Understand?"
"Understood!"
___
Kita would exchange glances towards Ayumu time to time in order to check up on her. However, as he found she talked with the coaches normally as she used toㅡno hard nor sad expression on her face anymore, guess Kita was worried for nothing. She looked like she was getting better and got herself a grip. Her face shone with confidence and determination.
So did to Ayumu. Guess, she was worried for nothing as well. The members were playing as sharp as usual and nothing seemed slip off. Just there was one moment where her twin brothers were mimicking the quick attack like how Kageyama and Hinata; a middle blocker, number 10 of Karasuno's attack. It left everyone jaw dropped so did on Ayumu. That was the only one thing the brothers have done which never been doing during their practise. Ayumu would swiftly turn towards Kita to check up for his expression but the captain had his poker face on.
The coaches did make some comment upon that but Ayumu barely listened to them as she was focusing more on the court.
The game was surprisingly felt so long even it just first set now. Might be because of deuce the two teams got. Once Inarizaki marched foward one point, Karasuno caught up one point too. For the first set, it finallized with Karasuno won over Inarizaki. Ayumu let out a shudder breath as the whistle echoed in the arena. First set done and now its time for the second set.
Ayumu handed out towels and bottles towards the team members as they thanked her. Her face had a smile displayed. Eventhough they just lost one set, Ayumu didn't look like she felt down because of it. The members could tell that she was anticipating for the next set through her eyes twinkling under the bright ceiling light of the arena. Aran fist bump her arm and sent her a warmth smile which Ayumu smiled brighter and formed a pair of cresent moon eyes.
The second set started soon after. Ayumu always got goosebump whenever her brother, Atsumu's turn to serve. The way he controlled the whole cheering team right before he served the ball and the whistle blowed. It same too if happened during Kageyama's serve. Not because of cheering team this time but Kageyama's serve alone was intense. There would have a flash of smile across her face whenever Kageyama's turn to serve came because that reminded her of Oikawa's serve.
Now, she missed the big brother.
Since she was into the game much and busy with jot down whatever informtion she gained from the match onto her book, Ayumu almost didn't realise that their coaches called for a pinch server. She realised it once she saw how her two brothers on the court suddenly grew tense and their shoulders flinched. There was only one person could give them the intense presence. Ayumu instantly turned towards her side and found Kita held a plague no 4.
Time to change players.
Unlike how everyone felt the intense vibe from Kita and they were all become alerted when he stepped into the court, Ayumu sketched a big smile on her face. She was waiting for this.
Way to go captainㅡ she whispered within her heart. Then, Coach Kurosu voiced out that took both Ayumu and Coach Taro to look at him.
"Shinsuke has been that way ever since middle school. Never any unnecessary actions, never a superfluous word. His technical plays were still lacking in experience, but he was always diligent. And, now, Shinsuke is brimming with confidence. Not the “I’m the strongest of all” type of confidence, but… the confidence from someone who knows they’ll never screw up.” Coach Kurosu said and Ayumu without hesitate nodding her head.
"Yeah, he is that kind of person." Ayumu responded with a proud smile.

Second Wind, legend of Pandemonium (Finished/Incomplete)
The developers of the worlds leading VRMMORPG Edge Online have decided to shut down its servers after over a decade. Shugireth Darkstar, the leader of Pandemonium, Edge Online's top guild, suffers from a deadly disease and his end is near. He hasn't left his VR pod for 5 years, as the medical nanodroids at the hospital takes care of him. Without Edge, he will die, because his physical body has already been all but destroyed by the sickness. Seeing no light at the end of the tunnel, Shugireth Darkstar, the Master of Pandemonium, stubbornly stays behind as the servers shut down... If that was all, we could end this story right here. However, that was only the beginning of the legend of pandemonium. The prelude to the movement, if you will. Shall we see what happens next? -------------- Some notes from Me (The author, gasp surprise): I first wrote this (100k) as an experiment. I saw the advice about having foils for overpowered MCs, and I watched quite a few lectures on writing. I wanted to test things out for myself and see if I could carry a story through other ways than only relying on physical conflict like some thrillers do. Thus this might lean a bit towards slice of life with a romance subplot, but I don't want to give my story away so read it if u want to know more. This was basically never intended for anyone else's eyes but my own, and written to explore writing as a process. This wasn't my attempt at writing a good book, but it turned into something that I think might interest some people, so I decided to pop it up here. It is slightly old so my style and writing skills have advanced considerably since I first started this thing. Having said that, I think it's pretty readable, but I am very interested in how other people will receive this. Please feel free to criticize it and just in general shoot me some feedback on what you think. It contains light Litrpg elements, not heavy table spam, it's just the basis of the world. Although I like that sort of thing, this was written before I even knew of Royalroad and hadn't considered litrpg much. Some of you may recognize that it was slightly inspired by Overlord. Also, the Tags for sexual content and traumatizing content are there as a precaution on all of my stories pretty much, even if my story does not contain any of that at the moment. I can't really know what the future will bring, but in the case of this story I do know a little bit, since I wrote 100k words before posting it here. And I just posted it on a whim because I figured some readers on Royalroad might enjoy this story.
