"It will be more fun and merrier if Ayumu can join us, here." Aran said before took a gulp of his drinks. His fellow third years friends could only smile and nodded. Kita by his side didn't say anything except, giving short congrating speech to the team after the coach was. Now, the team was at the restaurant, celebrating their winning for getting the first place of the prelim and as the representative of Hyogo for the upcoming Spring Tournament.
"At least, Miya kept her words to stay with us until we receive our award." Omimi added.
"Yeah. Thankfully, we really made it." Akagi smiled before he turned towards Kita." Do ya think Miya will be fine, Shinsuke?"
Kita gazed at him for a brief moment as he picked up a bite size of rice using his chopstick. "Miya is stronger than we know. She will be fine." He said and took a bite after that.
Ayumu left to Miyagi just like how she had planned. However, she wasn't left the team soon the ceremony ended after all. As she came to the venue with the team so she came back to the school with the team too. Eventhough her heart was pumping hard against her chest, she could not ditch her responsibility as Inarizaki's manager. She helped the members to bring out the things from the bus towards the school gym and gave proper treatment to whom needed. Once she finished all of that, she took her leave. It was ashamed that she could not join the team dinner as well their celebration but she really needed to go.
Aside of feeling scared by burnt the ticket or missed the train, Kita could feel her eagerness to meet her upperclassman from Aoba Johsai. Who was Kita to stop her from leaving if both of her twin brothers didn't even do that so? Looking at how soft smile on her face as she waved her hands towards the team members whenever her father picked her up, Kita somehow almost forgot how broken she looked the day before.
Everything was going well on the first day of prelim spring tournament. Smile was bright on her face, her cheery voice as she brought the members spirit up and the happy tears visible whenever Inarizaki was confirmed to go for the second day. During the whole day, Ayumu barely with her phone and Kita noticed that. Even during their break before Inarizaki moved to the next game, she didn't try to peek over her phone.
It was kinda odd of her, knowing it was the same day as Aoba Johsai's game, wasn't she kinda curious or worried? During the journey to go back to school after the game also, Ayumu didn't look at her phone. Until, they arrived the school, picked up things from the bus and the members left to changing roomㅡleaving Ayumu alone at the gym. The time whenever the member came back with their stuff from the changing room to the gym, Kita was the first one who arrived at the gym door step. Since the members followed a little later than him, they stopped on their track whenever they saw Kita did not enter the gym.

By the look of sadness on his face, the members no need to have a long moment to realise what was that for. Atsumu and Osamu instantly rushed towards the door as Kita finally entered the gym. The gym was pin drop silence but it broken down by Ayumu's sorrowful cry. That enough made her brothers to stop on their feet, had no energy to move further. Enough by entering the gym but not taking any steps towards their sister.
Ayumu was sitting on the court floor, knees up to her chest with her back leaned against the wall. She held her phone tightly, looking at Kita through her glassy eyes. Tears poured down on her face like waterfall. Kita was kneeling infront of her, holding side of her face as well his thumb wiped the tears away.
"K-Kita. . . A-Aoba Jo-h-sai..." she croacked out. "Th-they didn't m-make it."
___
Kita already on his bed, lying on his side where his nightstand on his view. He kept on glancing towards his phone by the nightstand, waiting for nothing particular. He wanted to text her but at the same time, he felt like he should not. Nonetheless, he still snatched his phone and sat up on his bed, leaning effortlessly against the headboard.
Ya already arrived?
Yeah, few hours ago.
Good then.
Yeah.
Kita blinked over his screen. He was so awkward about this and it was clearly obvious. Three words asked, three words replied. The text they had was such a dry text. He wanted to text her more but he didn't know what should he text about. Through the way Ayumu replied to his text, it didn't seem like she was excited to talk more with him. Should he just left like that? Then, a ding from his phone snapped him to the reality. Ayumu just texted him again.
I'll be gone for two days, so look after the team for me yeah.
Is that mean, ya not coming to school for two days?
Yeah. Tomorrow and a day after tomorrow.
Yer parents fine with that?
Since the final exam already over, they didn't say much.
Okay.
Then, the texted fall to a long pause before Kita started to text her again. Whenever he got her reply as soon as he sent her, Kita smiled...knowing she was still there.
Do ya feel better now?
Did Mr Kita Shinsuke just worried for Miya Ayumu?
No.
Jeez. As cold as ever.
But to answer yer question, yeah, better. I got interrogate by my grandma soon I arrived. Suddenly got feel like I just committed crime.
Why was that?
Like usual, I came to her place without telling her first. Ya know, surprise visit. Actually, I already told her about coming yesterday but since I canceled it, she wasn't expecting me coming today.
Does she happy you come?
Why she not be happy I come?
For some reason, he felt like he could hear she said those words. Added with her rolling eyes, feeling so done with Kita's heartless question.
I'm just asking. Who knows.
By the way, already meet ya Aoba Johsai members?
Not yet. I'm planning to go tomorrow.
Ouh...Since ya already at Miyagi, are yer also planning to meet yer king of court? Perhaps, congratulate him? Karasuno made it to National right?

before that. . .WHY YA CALL HIM MY KING OF COURT?! ˋ△ˊ
Stop calling him that. And for the answer, yes, they made it to National. And, actually am not planning it yet, to meet him. Only thought about meeting Aoba Johsai...but it can be a good idea to if I go meet Kageyama...
___
During the time she was texting with Kita, she was sitting at living room. Her grandma was making drinks at the kitchen. Whenever her grandma came, joining her at living room, the old lady noticed the smile came on and off over her granddaughter's face.
"Texting with Tobio?" Her grandma asked as she put down two mugs of drinks on the table as well as she took a seat by a couch nearby. Ayumu looked at her grandma with questioning look and put down her phone.
"Why Tobio?" She tilted her head.
"Is always Tobio on phone when you are grinning like that." Her grandma said, taking a sip from her drinks." Except if you find someone new."
Ayumu scoffed; "Why are you talking like me and Tobio have things in between when we not?"
Her grandma shrugged her shoulder and playfully threw a smile towards her. Now she knew where the "teasingness" genetic came from. Enough her both brothers became a tease so did her mother and now her grandma too?
"And it's not Tobio who I am texting with. It's my captain." She said, furrowed her brows as she watched her grandma carefully before reached out for the drinks her grandma brought her.
"Wow! captain? captain?" Her grandma repeating that words. It should not sound weird to be honest but the way her grandmother pronounced it, it was obvious she was teasing her and mimicking her.
"He is the team captain for god sake! I am in the same team as Tsumu and Samu remember?" Ayumu grunted.
Her grandma nodded not amazed as she said later; "Seem like Tobio got replaced, huh~?"
"What Tobio again? What actually you want to bring up, my dear grandma?"
Her grandma put down her mug on the table and crossed her legs as if she was a therapist and Ayumu was in the consultation with her. As Ayumu realised the way her grandmother positioned herself, she mentally gruntingㅡhoping to run away towards her room now. It would be a long night.. . .
" You like Tobio, aren't you? So, why bother asking me about the question when you already know the answer; which I wanna make you see clearer about your feelings." Her grandma said.
" Iㅡ" Ayumu rubbed her face. " I don't think he has the same feelings towards me."
" How can you be so sure?" Her grandma rose one eyebrow. " You guys are friends about more than three years."
" Because it three years and more of being friend, it just make thing confusing."
"Then, why not go and confess to him?" Her grandma suggested.
Ayumu almost choked on her drinks upon that. She put down the mug on the table, escaping an awkward laughter.
"Grandma, I am not going to confess first. Whatever happen it takes, I am not going to confess first. If he likes me the same way as I like him, he will be the one who confess first." Ayumu said. "I don't wanna look like a desperate girl on a guy who not having the same energy as mine."
Vv "And you think Tobio is that kind of guy?" Her grandma asked, pausing Ayumu's brain from function. "Yumu, if you don't try, you will never know the answer. What if you lost the chance? What if you lost him at the time you almost get a full grasp on him?"
"Then, let's be it. I don't think I lost the chance either lost the full grasp around him." Ayumu said. " Tobio is my dear friend. . .and confessing to him just like putting our friendship on fire. If he rejects me, the friendship cannot be the same anymore. We maybe stay as friend but trust me, it will not going to be the same. How you are going to face someone who you just rejected?"
" Do you really think Tobio will reject you if you confess to him?" Her grandma asked. Ayumu unsurely shrugged her shoulder. " I don't know. Maybe."
"Ayumuㅡ"
"No, grandma." She cut her words off. "Like I said, whatever it take I am not confessing to him. A guy should start it first. Whatever it is, it should be a guy not the girl. Of course it will look so brave for a girl confess to a guy first, but still. Isn't it says, we, girl, need to in love with a guy who in love with us first? You should know better than me about this grandma~"
Her grandma stayed silence.
" What if Tobio likes you?" She sounded after a brief of silence. Ayumu furrowed her brows again. " What make you feel so sure? Like I said, if he likes me than he will come to me and say it. But he didn't."
"So, you prefer a guy who confess to you first?" Her grandma asked.
" I don't prefer. I really want that."
" Okay. . .What if someone confess to you first....Let's say, your captain confess and not Tobio. Will you accept him or you will wait for Tobio which mean, you reject your captain?"
This conversation really getting weirder and complicated.
" You know, you cannot love two guys in the same time right?" Her grandma wrapped her arms around her body, looking at speechless Ayumu who had big eyes now.
"W-what are you trying to i-imply?" Ayumu hate herself for stuttering at that moment.
"You like your captain. Don't you?"
Unlike how fast she answered her grandma about Kageyama just now, she could not do the same when it came about Kita. How many of them already? First, both brothers of hers, her team mate, then Oikawa and Kageyama and now her grandma who also thought it the same way? Why they even have the thoughts like that?
"No. I don't like him. I like Tobio."
