《Falling For You {Kita Shinsuke}》{Chapter 4: Conversations}

The quiet and calming ambience of the library gave me peace as Kita and I edited our assignment.
I wish my life would be this peaceful...
I thought, immediately thinking of my twin brothers.
We were hard at work, editing and making final changes to our assignment.
"Thank you for dealing with the twins yesterday, Miya-san, normally I have to tell them to stop fighting" Kita thanked, feeling grateful that he didn't have to tell them off again.
"Don't mention it, Kita-san, it happens all the time" I expressed, sighing at the mention of the troublemakers.
I'm impressed that Kita can deal with those little shits...
I thought while mentally giving Kita a pat on the back.
"It's nice to know that someone else is also capable of stopping the twins" Kita expressed.
"Well feel free to call me anytime yer need me" I laughed.
"I'll make sure to do that" Kita smiled.
What a nice smile...so handsome...wait-what?...
I thought, mentally slapping myself.
Where did that come from?...
.
.
.
"Good work, Kita-san, we're finally finished" I told Kita, smiling.
"You did good too, lets go and hand it in now" Kita suggested.
We packed away our materials away before we walked towards the faculty room where our English teacher resides.
"Oh?! You're handing it in pretty early, Miya-san, Kita-san" she commented, cheerfully.
"Hai, we've finished earlier than expected, sensei" Kita replied politely.
"I see, thank you for that" she replied.
After handing our assignment in, Kita and I made our way to the vending machine to get a drink.
"What drink do yer want? It's on me" Kita asked, looking at me.
"Oh? You sure? You don't have to" I told him.
"Take it as a 'thank you' for what yer did yesterday" Kita replied, smiling slightly to which I could only comply.
After getting our drinks, we sat down under a tree and talked amongst ourselves, laughing as we told stories about our the twins and our personal lives.

The bell rang soon after, signalling to go back to class.
"Let's go back to class, Kita-san" I announced, standing up and dusting my skirt.
"Alright and please drop the formalities and call me Kita" he smiled while also standing up and dusting himself off.
I nodded in response, saying the same thing, making our way back to class.
The bell signalled the end of school as students began to make their way towards their club rooms.
"Hana-chan!!! Where were you at lunch!!! I had to deal with monster Haruko-chan by myself!!!" Nina whined.
"Oh, I was finishing my English assignment during that time, I'm sorry I didn't tell ya" I said while feeling sightly guilty.
"Well, you owe me food after this now" Nina declared, childishly crossing her arms.
"Oi Hana, give me some food too, I had to deal with this overgrown child all lunch" Haruko said, popping out of nowhere and pointed to Nina.
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING AN OVERGROWN CHILD?!?!"
"YOU OBVIOUSLY"
"HEY!! I DESERVE SOME FOOD AFTER DEALING WITH YOU, YOU MONSTER!!!"
"WHO YER CALLIN' A MONSTER, YER SHIT"
I grabbed my bag and exited the classroom quietly and quickly, avoiding their explosive conflict.
"Are yer alright Miya?" Kita asked, chuckling slightly, seeing me exit the classroom quickly while looking at Nina and Haruko who were still arguing.
"Y-yea...it's like dealing with the twins" I let out, trying to ignore the fact that Kita chuckled.
Well at least I know that he's not completely emotionless...
We began to walk next to each other as we were going in the same direction.
"Do yer cook, Miya?" he asked curiously.
"Yes, I normally make my brothers their meals" I answered.
"Oh so that's why they were shouting about food" he thought out loud.
"I'm sorry about them" I said to him apologetically, questioning why my friends were like this.
"Don't be sorry, it can't be helped" Kita reassured.
We continued to talk about other topics until we switched to volleyball.

"I actually saw yer playing at last year's Nationals, yer face was on 'Volleyball Monthly' a lot after that" Kita mentioned.
"I've been told too many times...it's getting tiresome" I grimaced.
"Atsumu keeps bragging about how much of a good Defensive Specialist you are and how you taught him and Osamu how to play volleyball" Kita mentioned.
"Must've been nice to be taught by the Guardian Fox" Kita said teasingly.
"... not you too..." I gulped looking at Kita as he laughed at my response.
"Well, I'm off, cya later Kita" I waved, arriving at the gym.
"Cya later Miya" he waved back, walking towards his destination.
Walking inside, I was greeted by our setter.
"Eh? Is he your boyfriend now, Nana?" Nina asked, shooting me a teasing look after I walked inside.
"No, he's just a friend, don't make it weird" I scolded her, taking out my knee pads before I started to warm up.
"Hai Okaa-san~"
"I'm not your mother..."
The members packed away the nets and poles and cleaned up the gym.
"I'll see ya tomorrow, Nana!!!!" Nina waved.
"Bye Nina..." I waved back in response, still confused at her nickname for me.
I made my way outside, making my way to the front gates before seeing the boy's volleyball gym still lit up.
Have they not finished yet?...
I thought while making my way towards the doors and looking inside.
It's empty...the storage room's light is on though...
I walked towards the storage room to see Kita, cleaning the volleyballs one-by-one.
"Oh Kita, aren't yer going home yet?" I asked, putting my things down to go and help him.
"I'm just going to clean the volleyballs, bottles and towels and I'll be off" Kita replied, looking up at me.
"I'll help ya" I offered, picking up a cloth.
"Yer don't have to" Kita tried to convince me.
"If we do it together, we'll be able to leave sooner" I suggested, already picking up a ball and cleaning it.
"Alright" he agreed, not having much of a choice.
After cleaning, Kita turned off the lights and locked up the gym before we made our way towards the front gates.
"It's getting late, I'll walk yer home, yer can't disagree" Kita said, walking beside me.
"Oh alright then" I laughed slightly at his stubborn yet kind behaviour.
We stopped in front of my house, hearing yelling coming from inside and seeing the driveway empty.
Okaa-san and Otou-san aren't home yet...
"Thanks for walking me home, Kita" I sighed out, thinking about the chaos happening inside my house.
"Don't mention it, you'll be ok right?" Kita replied, gesturing towards the house, a clashing noise following this reply.
"Y-yeah...I think so" I said, sweat-dropping.
"I'll give yer my number, if yer need any help just message or call me" Kita offered while smiling.
I laughed as I handed him my phone, he typed his number and gave it back.
"Sure, I'll offer the same services to you too" I told him while laughing.
"Goodnight, Miya" he waved, smiling.
"Goodnight, Kita" I waved back before opening the door and walking inside.
"Nee-san, Tsumu keeps eatin' my pudding" Samu said as soon as he saw me.
"Ya know, yer should greet me first..." I sighed again, walking into the kitchen.
"I didn't eat it!!!!" Tsumu yelled from the living room, about to start a fight.
"Yer did, stop lying!!!" Samu fumed, rolling his sleeves up.
"Calm down, both of ya" I scolded, washing my hands and putting on an apron.
"I'll make more now just for you, my precious Samu~" I said affectionately, taking out ingredients.
Samu's face sparkled before wrapping his arms around me and placing his chin on my head, thanking me in his own way.
"Hey!!! What about me!!!"
"Shut up, yer pig"
"OI!!!"
