Slap a deckchair onto the beach and grab your favourite summer read. You haven't got one yet? Well, how about if you write one yourself? Mystery has teamed up with @AdventureCommunity, @CoffeeCommunity @adultfiction and to bring you a very special cross-profile contest.
A body washes up on the beach. Where did it come from? Is it a stranger or someone you know? Are there more victims to come? Who finds the body and how? Your job is to tell us what happens next.
Are you key to solving the case? Does the body come back to life and start the zombie apocalypse? Does it become your strange and surreal ally ala Swiss Army Man? Did your victim perish to the dark lure of an evil mermaid?
The circumstances and details of the body are up to you. Stretch your imagination and construct a thrilling or whacky summer mystery adventure.

Max word count for this contest is with a minimum word count of 500 for flash fiction. Post your word count either in the story or the story description. Stories may contain multiple chapters as long as you post each chapter's word count. Stories that exceed the 3k word count will be eliminated.

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.

The world has developed much, so much in fact it offers people a life of complacent leisure should they want it. This option is less than ideal for our protagonist who aspire to become a virtual reality football coach. Follow her journey through a brave new world fraught with strangeness to find the purpose she craves. Note: This is a slice of life/drama/comedy kind of story. Slow pace with an emphasis on characters. Warning: Bad language (if you consider swearing bad because Alicia sure doesn’t).

He tends to stay out of trouble in his own little place although not always successful as he seems to attract trouble like a magnet. Note: 1-This is my first ever novel or published novel, and English is not my main language. I'm open to corrections and suggestions!
