Finally, another Ed, Edd, n Eddy theory! Now we are going to talking about good ol' Johnny 2x4 but more focused on his buddy Plank.

To the naked eye Plank is nothing more than just a piece of wood with a face drawn on it that Johnny carries around. It is likely that he is a comfort item to him like Linus' blanket or Louis Belcher's bunny ears hat. Double D even diagnosis him as someone with low self-esteem and social phobias resulting in Johnny using Plank as somebody to play with.

Johnny is never seen with out Plank (voluntarily) but when he is separated from him, he starts to spiral and goes crazy. Johnny has made a whole personality for Plank and includes him in conversation between himself and others. He even translates what Plank says to others.

In the episode Rent-A-Ed Johnny gets his head stuck in a tree branch facing away from his house. Eddy walks out the backdoor of Johnny's house holding Plank. He clearly can't see Eddy or Plank but Plank tells Johnny that the Ed-boys are trashing his kitchen. But how could Johnny know what they are doing if 1. He is outside and 2. He can't see outside or inside his house in his current position BUT Plank can.

In Season 2s Dear Ed there are 6 chairs. Johnny is sitting in chair 1 and Plank in 6. Ed walks buy with a bunch of stuff, after he passes Johnny is in chair 2 and Plank in 5. A conga line passes consisting of Rolf, Nazz, Kevin, Sarah, and Jimmy. Behind them Johnny moves to chair 3 and Plank moves to chair 4, finally reunited again.

In Gimme, Gimme Never Ed the Ed-boys made a roller coaster type thing and Johnny tells Eddy to wait and that Plank is only in it for kicks which Double D confirms but Eddy doesn't listen. Eddy then tells Johnny to "hand over that gullible hunk of wood" but Johnny isn't holding Plank anymore. Eddy asks where he went but Johnny doesn't even know. Ed points to Plank who is now behind them. He falls over BY HIMSELF and starts the homemade coaster.

In All Eds are Off, Eddy bets that Double D couldn't go a whole day without using words with more than like 1 or 2 syllables, Kevin couldn't say "Dork" for the day, and Johnny couldn't go the whole day without Plank. Everywhere Johnny went, Plank was near by. They all of course lost but still, Plank was able to go around the school without the help of Johnny? Interesting.

But the biggest, most convincing evidence of all is in Ed, Edd, n Eddy's Big Picture where Plank is seen driving a bus all by himself. Johnny is seen in the same shot as Plank but isn't touching him. These aren't all the times that Plank was shown to do stuff by himself of course but should be enough.

So take what you want from this chapter but it seems to me that Plank is real. There is even an episode where Plank's parents come to visit him!
