The Codename: KND, a very good cartoon from my childhood. I've actually have read very, very few theories about this cartoon. But the one I did find is probably the saddest one of all.

What if I told you that the KND (or at least the main 5) are patients in a hospital and the nurse told them that they are a secret squad of agents to cheer them up?

Numbah 5. Abigail "Abby" Lincoln - I enjoyed the solo episodes of Numbah 5 probably the most, Nigel being a close 2nd. Abigail suffers from severe injuries given to her by her mother. Her parents had divorced and her father had left them penniless. Abby's mom blamed her for all the tragedy and beat her. This led Abby to be the mother figure of their group as she wants to be a better mother than her's never was.

Numbah 4. Wallabee "Wally" Beetles - Wally grew up in a rough neighborhood. He was always fighting back the bullies for his brother Joey, he never backed down and always fought back. But this would eventually be his downfall. One day when Wally was on his way home from school a man grabbed and pulled him into an ally. He was being mugged but instead of giving the man what he wanted, he fought back like usual. The punches the grown man threw wasn't enough to keep him down so he ended up stabbing Wally. His brother, Joey, had found him and dragged him to a nearby hospital.

Numbah 3. Kuki Sanban - Kuki is the happy-go-lucky, carefree, lovable girl of the show. But unfortunately her actual life isn't so happy. Kuki grew up with both parents who were addicted to drugs. They abused her often which sadly caused her to be the saddest girl instead of the happiest. She noticed how her mother changed after taking some anti-depressants so she decided to take some herself and like her parents, became addicted. One day Kuki had already taken some pills and got home from school. She walked in to see her mother, Genki, lying on the ground dead. Her father, Kani was standing over her with a gun in hand. Kuki wasn't affected by the situation since she had already taken the anti-depressants, but her dad didn't know she was taking them and decided that there should be no witnesses. He shot his own daughter dead but failed, after that he shot himself. The neighbors called the police and they took her to the ER. She survived being shot but now she needed a liver transplant because of all the medication she had taken.

Numbah 2. Hogarth "Hoagie" Pennywhistle Gilligan Jr. - Hoagie was born to a loving mother and father who aloud his creativity to run free, but his uncle was jealous because he had the same abilities as a child that Hoagie did but never received encouragement from his parents. His uncle would watch Hoagie when his parents had to work. He would only let Hoagie eat very unhealthy foods for lunch, snacks and sometimes dinner. When the parents would find out he just said that he couldn't say no to Hoagie because he loved him so much and they believed him. This went on forever, and when he didn't want to eat anymore his uncle would threaten him to eat or force feed him himself. This led to Numbah 2 becoming severely obese and had to go and stay at the hospital because he was at an extremely high risk of his heart failing.

Numbah 1. Nigel Uno - Nigel had a dad with Alzheimer Disease, so he always had to look after him though he didn't mind. His dad was a nice guy and before losing his mind, was always kind to him. His dad was the only adult Nigel liked since his mother left him and he felt the doctors and nurses didn't care about his father and weren't trying hard enough to save his father. One day when he took his dad to the hospital, Nigel wasn't feeling well and threw up right outside the hospital. He hadn't been feeling good for days but didn't think anything of it although he was sore a lot and very hoarse. He was admitted and it was discovered he had cancer. This led him to hate adults more as he felt he was being tortured with the needles and various medications. In the children's ward, he acted like a leader to help the other kids feel better just as he had with his father.

The KND started with the five kids whose lives were negatively affected by adults and in there world they fought against them. All the other kids in the KND are kids who had come and gone. The Delightful Children From Down The Lane were the kids that got the best and immediate treatment do to there dad being very rich. The only time these kids had the fun and happiness they deserved were when they are together, away from the adults that hurt them. Another sad fact is that Abigail was the only one to recover successfully and grew up. She had a photo with her of herself with the other four. Nigel couldn't beat the cancer, Hogarth's heart failed, Kuki never got the liver transplant , and Wallabee's stab wound never successfully healed he ended up bleeding out one night.

Very, very sad indeed.
