*4 months later*
I found myself and Cam sitting in my old childhood bed for the first time in a while. It was finally time for Hayes and Taylor's baby to come. She was due any time this week and even though I'm still not happy about it I couldn't miss the birth of my nephew. Being back home with Cam was such a strange feeling to me. We hadn't been here in about a year and something about this trip just felt different. Not a bad different just this funny feeling I had.
My mom basically kidnapped Ethan the second we got here complaining that see has been deprived of her grandmotherly duties; which was just fine by Cam and I. We've been here for five days and I've already gotten more sleep than in the last month. It was around six in the morning and the sun was just starting to peak through the shades when Cam rolled over to face me.
"You're up early." He commented, letting out a big yawn.
"Just got back from feeding Ethan." I replied, snuggling into the comforter.
I watched him pick up his phone and check the time. Suddenly he started getting up out of the bed and throw some random clothes on.
"I have something to do okay? I'll see you later
Love you." He said, leaning down and kissing my head.
I mumbled back a 'love you too' that defiantly didn't sound like English but it was early and he knew what I meant. After that I fell back into a pleasant sleep.
Later I was woken up by a knock on my door. Sitting up I stretched a little bit before telling to whoever it was to come in. As soon as the door open I saw Hayes and he began to walk in.
"What time is it?" I asked, just as he sat on the end of my bed.
"Just after 11." He replied and I began to panic a little.
"Oh no! Why didn't anyone wake me? Ethan's prob-"

"Ethan's fine I promise. I got him up changed and fed him. He's playing down stairs with Nash. I let you sleep because I wanted to see if I could do the whole dad thing you know?" He replied and I could see this look of worry in his eyes.
"You'll do fine I promise. To tell you the truth it's terrifying at first. I had absolutely no clue what I was doing." I admitted to him.
"Yeah but look at you know. You're a great mom and Cam's a great father. I'm just scared I won't live up to that."
"Hayes you have absolutely nothing to live up up. Last week I found Cam trying to feed Ethan a damn cheese burger. Which by the way 7 month olds should absolutely not have." I warned which earned a little laugh out of him.
"I'll keep that in mind."
"So do you guys have any names picked out yet?" I asked, changing the subject to a lighter happier one.
"Yeah but Taylor made me promise to keep them a secret until he's born."
"At least tell me Nashs' name is somewhere in there because if not he'll be heart broken." I joked.
"The hell it is! He already somehow wiggled his way into getting your kid named after him." He joked back.
"I told you that you have my word my next son will be named after you."
"Damn right he is." He muttered back which mad me laugh even harder.
Just then my phone went off and I checked to see that it was Cam texting me. He said that he'd be home by 3 and to get ready because he had a surprise for me.
"So speaking of you wanting to see if you could do the whole dad thing... Could you possibly watch Ethan for the day? Cam says he has a surprise for me." I asked giving him the puppy eyes.
"Sure but you owe me one." He winked before standing up and leaving my room.

I got up next and headed over to the bathroom to start getting ready. By the time I was finished I had a full face of makeup on, a cute floral patterns romper on with a light cardigan over it and some gladiator sandals. Looking at my phone I noticed it was just about 3 and realized that damn I take a long time to get ready. Taking one last look at my makeup and making a few touch ups to it I made my way back into my bed room. Upon opening the door I found cam in there just finishing a up the buttons on his light pink button up that was paired with a pair of navy cargo shorts.
"Ready to go?" He asked, pecking my lips and turning to put his boat shoes on.
"Yeah just let me get my stuff." I replied, grabbing my bag and making sure the two items I needed were in there.
Considering Cam's car was back in LA we got to use my dads Jeep Wrangler which I may or may not have been dying over. Cam drove because 1. According to him my driving is "unsafe to all those around" and 2. He was the one that knew just where the surprise was. I convinced Cam that since he got to drive that it was only fair I was the one to control the AUX cord. Which I'm sure he soon regretted after he heard my choice of music.
The whole ride actually wasn't that long. Before I knew it we were on a stone road surrounded but nothing but trees. Eventually we came to a large opening minus a few trees that was backed by a huge lake. Cam parked the car and got out without saying a word. He started heading over in the direction of what I'm guessing was the water. I quickly grabbed my bag and headed out of the car to follow him. I cough up to him and on the way there I noticed a tree with a sign on it. Once close up I got a good look on what was written on it :
THE DALLAS'
I turned to ask Cam what that was about but he spoke up first.
"Do you like it out here?"
"I love it but why is your name on the sign?" I asked.
"Because I bought it." He simply answered.
"You're building a house here?"
"No. I'm building us a house here."
And in that moment I swear everything around us stopped. Cam reached into a pocket and pulled out a small velvet box before bending down on one knee.
"Cam." I choked out, my heart beginning to race.
"Lex," he started, " you know I'm not very good with words and I know that you hate sappy things so I just want to keep short and sweet just like you. When I met you I never thought that this day would come. But being here, know, with everything we've been through I could never imagine this not happening. You're the love of my life and there's no way I can ever let you go. You gave me the most beautiful baby boy in the world and I couldn't be happier. You are not only the love of my life but my best friend and I just want to know if you'd do the honor of marrying me?" He finished.
With tears running down my face I was too shocked to speak and just shocked my head yes. The biggest smiled appeared on his face as he slipped what was the most beautiful ring I had ever seen on my ring finger before standing up.
"Best surprise ever." I muttered before leaning in to kiss him.
"Do you like the ring?" He asked, pulling away.
"It's beautiful Cam who knew you had such good taste." I joked and he looked fake hurt.
"Um I did." He answered.
