There she sat looking into her mirror. Her mirror was round with little diamonds around them. As the light from the parted curtains in her room shines on them. Making them look brighter than expected. She continued to brush her midnight hair calmly humming while she did so. She put the brush down as she walked into her closet and to pick out a dress. The dress is long, the top was a beautiful cream color with gold trim around the breast and around the waist. As it gets to the bottom it fades into an elegant teal color. Her arms are showing, to show how beautiful her skin was. As she put on her dress there was a knock on the door.
"Come in," she answers.
The person came into the room. It was a female that's 5'6 with black hair and red eyes .She seems to be in her late teens.
"Oh hello Didyme what can i do for you today?" asked the black haired women
"Oh nothing i was just coming to see how my big sister was doing as are you the leader of the volturi" Didyme said looking happy, but then her smile turned into a frown" but brother is not liking it at all. He said that a man should be a leader not a woman." she continued " tell me why does he think that?" she asked
"Well i think that since i want to make peace with humans he thinks it's the wrong idea" said the black haired woman
"Which is wrong" said another voice. In came in a male 5'10 with jet black hair and he also has red eyes.
"Why would you think that's a bad idea Aro?" asked the black haired woman.
"Because Aura we are meant to prey on these humans" Aro said to his older sister
"Oh really? Do you want to be hunted down for the rest of your life baby brother" Aura asked calm. Whereas Aro was getting frustrated with her.
"NO!" he yelled. Aura having to be the level headed child she only sat down on her chair beside her younger sibling.
"Why do you insist on yelling at me?" she asked. Aro began pacing around her room. Mumbling to himself.
"Would you stop mumbling?" asked Aura. Didyme looked at her older siblings trying to figure out how to help solve this problem.
"This is preposterous we can just kill them" Aro said
"Ok then what about the wolves. They have land around too. What are you going to do about them?" Aura asked, tilting her head a little bit.
"What do you mean what am I going to do with the wolves?" he began " they will become instinct" he finished with a mischievous smile on his face.

"That's why I can't let that happen," said Aura. She stood up from the chair and walked towards her brother. She put a hand on his shoulder only for him to shake it off. She sighed and began talking.
"Listen Aro, by me being the leader of the volturi I'm protecting our people from any danger. Having allies such as wolves could be in our favor." Aura said. Aro looked at her as if she grew another head.
"You have got to be kidding me" Aro said, backing away from her,"wolves as our allies?" he shook his head going towards the door. He put his hand on the handle, he was about to twist it but stop hearing his sister's last word.
"Just think about it brother you will never know when you might need them, there may be a time when you're in trouble and I'm not there anymore." Aura said
He looked at her and scoffed and then walked out the door closing it behind him. As he walked out he began walking down the long hall.
"Just you wait sister, all hell will break loose" he said to himself smiling.
Back into the room Aura and her sister Didyme began to talk.
" What do you think he's going to do, Aura?" asked Didyme
"To be honest sister i have no idea" Aura said walking to her window, looking out of it. She sighed and put her hands behind her back.
"What shall i do?" Didyme
Aura looked over her shoulder and turned back around to look out the window.
"Just be safe baby sister, we don't know what he's planning and i don't want you to get hurt." said Aura turning around to her sister with worry in her red eyes.
As time passed it began to get dark. Aura descended down the stairs to get to the kitchen for something to eat. As she walks towards the door she hears screaming coming from it. As she heard it she ran into the kitchen to see dozens of people laying dead on the ground lifeless. She walked towards one; it was a woman in her mid 20s with brown short hair. Her eyes were opened as she looked into the unknown woman's eyes. She saw fear in them. She heard footsteps slowly coming towards her.
"Well well well, look what you've done dear sister" she already knew by the voice it was none other than her little brother.
"What do you mean about what I have done, it seems you have mistaken me of do-" she was cut off by the sight of her brother. He had blood coming out his mouth dripping down his neck, but that did not frighten her; it was the sinister smile he showed her. His eyes were pitch black as if he had no soul at all.

"What have you done brother?" she said only now she was beginning to show how angry she was.
"Oh i have done nothing dear sister it is you who have done" he gesture to the dead bodies on the floor" This"
"Why would you accuse me of this when you have the evidence on your face Aro."Aura said, her anger was rising. As Aro never seen his sister angry before he began to rethink his plan. Her eyes were not the red he normally see's and she was not calm. Her eyes were orange, something he had not seen before. But he went through with his plan he thought he came so far to just to stop now.
"You see dear sister it's time we have a new leader and i think that leader is me." he began to say
"And why is that dear brother?" Aura asked through gritted teeth
"We need a new era," he trailed off. " I will have that even if I have to kill you" he said walking towards his sister.
"Oh but baby brother, you do realize the reason I am a leader is because i am more powerful than you," Aura said, walking towards her brother very slowly. Her demeanor changed again. Before things can get any worse they heard another pair of footsteps approaching the kitchen. They heard a gasp and they turned around to see their sister Didyme standing there looking at the dead bodies.
"What....what happened here?" she asked
Stepping in front of his older sister he spoke surprising his sister that he doesn't have any trace of blood on his face.
"As you can see, our dear old sister has had a......fun time to herself" he said. Aura turned her head at him, completely shocked that her brother was blaming this all on her.
"It's not what it looks like Didyme" she said, beginning to walk to her only for her sister to step back away from her. Which stops her as well.
"How could you do this? We just talked about this earlier how-," she stop and ran off. Aura's shoulder slumped as she saw her sister run away from her. She heard laughter behind her, she turned around and saw Aro laughing. So couldn't hold her anger in any longer, she slowly walked towards her brother. His laughter stopped as she was standing in front of him with no hesitation; she punched him in the nose. Knocking him back to the kitchen wall. He groaned, holding his nose .
"Huh seems like I do have to kill you after all" he said looking up to his sister.
"I will not go out without a fight" Aura said running towards her brother. Which he dodge her, he kicked her in the back letting her hit her head on the same wall he previously was.
"Is this what you call fighting sister?" he said, taking a step towards her and grabbed her hair pulling it back. Her orange eyes looked into his red ones. She smiled
"Oh i'm just beginning" she said, she hook her arm around his left leg tugging it forward letting him let go of her hair in surprise. She then turned around and got on top of her brother punching him over and over. She then got up walking to the entryway to the kitchen.
"I will say this baby brother" she began while looking at her brother laying on the ground face bloody from her punches.
"I am stronger than you but I will not get low to your level by murdering humans, until you understand that you will never become the leader of the volturi" she said then walked out. She stop seeing the member of the volturi in front of her
"And may I ask what are you doing here?"
They look behind her and saw her brother struggling to get up. They saw blood covering his face.
"What happened here?" one asked
"Just a misunderstanding that's all" she spoke calmly
"It seems that there are dead bodies in there too" one whisper to the other.
Before they could turn to accuse Aura for anything she was gone. Aura nowwz in the forest running. The night air blowing through her hair and her legs leading her to someone she knew who could help her. She saw the woman on the ground meditating. As she got closer the woman opened her eyes. She looked at the red eyed vampire. The woman was 5'4 with brown long hair in waves. She stood up to the vampire and said
"I knew you were coming" she said, her voice was that of a mother. The vampire walked to her only to stop.
"You're expecting" she said weather than asking her. The woman looked down at her growing belly putting her hands on it. She smiles
"Yes I am, we already thought of a name for our little cub." she looked up to the vampire to see she had worries in the red orbs." what's wrong Aura?" she asked

BODY&SHADOW
AN ILLUSTRATED NOVEL • UPDATES TUESDAY AND FRIDAY In a time before living memory, the King Dragon of the Void watched the world and realized there was a crack. He realized that humanity was destroying the rock upon which they lived; they leaked life’s code into the churning chaos. At first the change was imperceptible: nanites overtook microorganisms, bacteria, viruses, amoebas. Insects became increasingly inorganic; birds and lizards followed soon after. Even humans were infected by their own advances, cell by cell, till there was not a person left on earth who wasn’t at least part synthetic, the product of a prior generation’s carelessness. The world’s population was ravaged by mechanical viruses with no vaccines; they were mercilessly overtaken by bacteria that knew no death. Soon, most of the planet was empty and only a handful remained who remembered the hedonist realm they came from; only a few were left who remembered what the world looked like when their buildings touched the sky. The King Dragon of the Void watched the rock turn. He watched humans cower as the Old World fell down around them; watched their great monuments crumble into dusty ruins; watched their codes become precious, ancient gem memories forged under the crushing pressure of so many fallen stones. The world has spun many times around the sun since chaos swallowed man whole. It is a simpler time than the one that died out, but the people now are not immune to the folly of the people before. There is old code everywhere: in the water, in the air, in the trees. The heart of man has been replaced by power cores, many of which are hard-coded with preternatural abilities—when they die, an esoteric mountain sect collects their cores and stores them in their hollow mountain home to preserve the sanctity and dignity of human death. They’ve learned to harness artifacts of the old world, gemstones full of codes their nanite infused bodies can parse as spells imbuing their users with great power; they inlay them into their bodies, into their skins, connected to their cores by copper conduit and gold tracers; they dress themselves in tattoos to advertise their prowess; they battle for relics in arenas, fight for them in the open world wherever they are found. The King Dragon of the Void watches the rock turn and wonders: when will this hunger finally make the rock stop spinning? WELCOME TO FANXING CITY … Twenty-five years ago, Fanxing City and the surrounding lands were commanded by the mad King Zao Beiguan. For many years, the King hoarded wealth, artifacts, food; he demanded tribute from a people already taxed to the edges of their existence and expected they be happy with their circumstances. Noncompliance was often punished harshly, bodies displayed proudly on Fanxing’s streets as a warning, from the city gates to the Zao palace’s golden doors. The youths of several prominent clans came together to overthrow the tyrant and made names for themselves as legendary heroes across the land: Tian, Ren, Feng, Gui, Ma, and Zhenxi. Even wanderers from the Luanshi sect descended from Yunji mountain to aid the rebellion. When the dust settled after three years, Tian Yunyong ascended the throne of Fanxing and swore to honour his slain father’s memory, and has maintained Fanxing’s peace with generosity and mercy where fear and cruelty once reigned.

The world is changing, but into what? This story follows Chris and four other humans as they reenter the world as harbringers of the system, dragging chaos in their wake. Edit: I wrote myself into a corner with this one, and its only after taking a writing class that I realize where I went wrong, and it needs a complete rewrite from the top. I considered taking it down, but i'm going to leave it up as a reminder to myself to plan out my magic systems a little better.
