September year 1918
Reader Pov.
It's been 4 months since I've found out I'm a vampire. I still can't believe it. Trying to not drink 'human' blood is so hard.. Carlisle is trying to help me, but I almost had an accident 2 months ago.
"Carlisle why are we out here?" i asked
"You've been stuck in the house for almost three months and we're running out of food." he said
"Well why are we in the forest then" i asked another question
"You need to learn to drink animal blood instead of human blood which i get from people who donates it." he said
'Animal blood' i thought, well i thought i said that in my head
"Yes animal blood that's how i survived until that day when i didn't hunt for a week because of work." he said
"And by the way you were thinking out loud." he said, before I could open my mouth to say anything. As we are walking in the woods I smelt human blood. It made me stop in my tracks.
"I thought no one would be here at this time." Carlisle said out loud
"Well it seems as if some people like to take mid night walks." I said as I was struggling not to run off, but I couldn't help it. I ran off to the smell of blood. I could feel Carlisle behind me as I was getting closer to the smell. Next thing I know I'm being knocked forward on the ground. I look to see who did it only to find Carlisle pinning me down and me struggling to break free.
"LET ME GO!" i yelled
"No i need you to calm down please." he told me

" I am trying......I have to get out of here." i beg
"Ok I will let you go and we will go farther in the woods ok?" he said. Stopping my struggling he got off me. Holding out his hand to help me up, which I took. Still struggling a little bit i spoke
"Ok" i said
We began running the opposite way of which I ran to.
End Of Flashback
Since then we only go when it's misty and when it's less light. Nothing seems to happen lately as i can't go to sleep anymore. I don't eat regular food. i realized i have abilities like: telepathy, lie detection which explain why i can tell if Carlisle is lying to me, and subjective precognition that hasn't happened yet, but i'm waiting for it to see what happens. I was reading a book in the living room until I heard the front door open. I looked up to see Carlisle walking in looking terrified more like if he was ashamed of himself. I got up off the couch and slowly approached him.
"Are you ok Carlisle what is wrong?" i asked slowly
".......I.....I" he couldn't get the words out
"It's ok you can take your time." i said while directing him to the couch to sit down. He put his head in his hands.
"I did it again" he said lowly almost low that i couldn't hear
"What did you do again Carlisle?" i asked
He looked up at me with guilt. I've seen that look before, it can't be true.
"What did you do Carlisle?" i asked again trying to eliminate the possibility of it not being what i think it was he did.
"I had to or they would've died." he said to himself again

'They' i thought
"They was going to die. I had to."
"Please tell me you didn't turn them?" I asked looking at him. Him still staring at me, he only nodded his head. Knowing he wasn't lying especially not about this. I couldn't change what had happened to them. So I only sat down next to Carlisle.
"What are their names?" i asked
He looked at me as if he was relieved at what i said
'What she's not mad at me or disappointed'. Yes I'm disappointed in him, but what's done has been written on the pages with ink ,can't change that now.
"Their names are Esme and Edward."
"Edward and Esme." I repeated their names to remember it. And to see how their name would feel on my tongue. Looks like we'll have more people in our growing family. Taking a minute to take everything in, finally I looked at Carlisle, I asked.
"When will I be able to meet them?"

Fallout: Vault X
An original novel set in the Fallout universe, written to be accessible to all, featuring unique people and places. Vol.II. out now Fallout: Vault X tells the story of John. A vault dweller, who spent every day of his twenty five years underground. Like his father, and his father before him. Proud to live in the last remaining bastion of humanity, all that survived The Great War of the atomic age. Hidden deep below the surface of the earth, toiling under brutal conditions. Year after year, decade upon decade. All to expand into the natural cave system the Vault occupied, building for the future. However, John knew what his forefathers did not, that everything he’d been taught was a lie. After finishing school at the age of ten, John received his standard issue pipboy. An arm mounted personal computer, worn by everyone in the Vault. Used to coordinate the relentless pace of expansion, needed to work as an apprentice. To learn the craft that would be his life’s work. A noble calling to ensure a future for all that remained of the human race. A quirk of fate saw John equipped not with the crude, clunky, pipboy model his father wore. That almost everyone around him wore. His looked smaller, sleeker, finished in a jet black sheen. And capable of doing far more than its drab counterparts. The world above had been ravaged by atomic flames, yet life clung to its bones. The Red Valley fared better than most in the century since the bombs fell. The clean water and rich soil protected by rolling hills. All spared from direct strikes, for the most part. Life survived here. Trees spawned from charred ground, misshapen, green leaves turned red. Along with simple crops, grown wild at first, then cultivated by the survivors. The scavengers of the old world were inventive, hardy people. All determined to rebuild in the ruins of a world they never knew. In the decades that passed settlements emerged. They grew, spreading along the valley floor. Reclaiming the pre-war remnants of the once industrialised heartland. Salvaging the robotic wonders of a bygone age to build their walls and work their fields. To protect them in the dark of the wasteland. But such things are uncommon in this world, and the rarer something is, the greater its value. And the worth of pre-war technology had not gone unnoticed. The last, real, power in this world rested in the mechanised hands of The Brotherhood of Steel. Forged from the mortally wounded old world military. The Brotherhood used its access to the weapons made for a conflict no one won to strike out into the wastes. Men and women were equipped with advanced armour, aerial transportation, high grade weaponry. Accompanied by the training, strength, and will, to put them to use. They established chapters and set up outputs far and wide. All dedicated to a single purpose. To ensure the technology left abandoned by its long dead creators didn’t fall into the wrong hands. Namely, any hands that were not their own. This is the world John escaped into. A place of horrors brought forth from atomic fire. A place where survival meant battling against the darkness. Fighting a war each day to get to the next. And war...war never changes
