Year 1918
It was a cold night in the middle of May in Chicago, illinois and I can't take it anymore. Walking alone, nothing to eat I'm starving.nothing on me but the clothes on my back when i was getting kicked out of my home. My parents kicked me out because I didn't want to marry the man they wanted me to. It's so unfair. I begin to get tired so I lean on a building. Taking deep breaths I begin to close my eyes.
CRACK
I heard something, i quickly stood up straight that i cut my hand on the building, i looked around holding my now injured hand
'Huh ?what was that' i thought
"Hello?" I said
Nothing.
"Is someone there? I asked little louder
Still nothing
I began walking again. I needed somewhere to sleep but where? I can't sleep on the cold cement because it won't keep me warm at night.
CRACK
There's that sound again. I turn my head again only to bump into something or someone
"S...sorry I did- I stopped mid sentence looking up to see a 6'2 man with black eyes..... Wait, they're completely black and they have pale skin. He looked at my hand that I forgot I had cut on one of the brick walls on one of the buildings. He looked at it like he was going to eat me as his meal. So I slowly backed away from him, still apologizing to him. As I began to walk away I began to walk a bit faster. I turned around to see if he was still there but he wasn't. I let out a soft breath that I didn't know I was holding. Slowly beginning to walk a little slower. I saw an alley where I could sleep tonight. When I turned into the alley there I saw the same man from before. Before I was able to run he caught me and held me with strength that I couldn't break free. I felt him lick my neck, when he did that my whole body shiver.

"P-p-please let me go" I beg while tears was coming down my face
He didn't say a thing for a minute but when he did my blood ran cold
"I'm so sorry" he said
Before I could ask why he bit my neck. I screamed but he covered my mouth with his hands. My screams were muffled. I slowly lose my consciousness when he stops. My eyes are heavy and I look up to the man. He was just standing there looking at me for a minute. He slowly picked me up bridal style. Before I completely passed out when we exited the alley I saw his face clearly his eyes weren't black anymore they were gold and he had blond hair. He looked to be 6 years older than me, maybe in his early 20s. He looked down at me with guilt filled eyes. He was saying something but I couldn't hear him as I lost my consciousness.
I was just coming for my job as a doctor. My coat was warming me like I could feel it though. I was walking when I saw a girl still in her teens. She doesn't have a coat on why she is even out here and in this weather. I saw her lean on a building and she looked as if she was tired. I slowly walked to her but stepped on broken glass making noise. I was startled that I hid when she turned around.
"Hello?" she said but I said nothing
"Is someone there?" she asked but i said nothing again
I started to leave her alone but I smelt something that i don't have complete control over. I turned around and started following her as i was getting closer i stepped on something but i didn't care. As I was in a trance by her blood, as she turned around she bumped into me, only for me to stare at her.

"S...sorry I did- she stopped mid sentence when she looked at me. I have a feeling that my eyes are black by the way her eyes became wide. I saw that her hand was cut so that's where the smell is. She slowly backed away from me and apologized to me while turning around. I saw that she started to walk faster. I hid behind a building so she wouldn't see me. When I thought the coast was clear I began following again and she started walking into an alley where I quickly and quietly passed her. She saw me and was beginning to run away but I grabbed her and put my head between her head and shoulder. I'm trying to resist from biting her but I can't.
"P-p-please let me go." she said and by the way she said that I can tell she's crying but I'm trying but I can't resist anymore
"I'm so sorry." I said before she could say anything further I bit into her neck her blood was intoxicating I couldn't stop. I began to feel her lose consciousness so I stopped. She dropped to the ground and I just looked at her.
'What have I done' I thought
'What am I going to do? I have no choice but to bring her with me' I thought I slowly picked her bridal style and began to walk to my apartment trying to figure out what to do next. I looked down at her with guilt in my eyes.
" How could I have done this to someone innocent?" I asked my self. I can't believe I let my hunger get the best of me. As when I made it to my place I unlocked the door, walked into my room and placed her on the bed. I know that when she wakes she will be something I don't wish on anyone else.

Two Sides
Heroes and monsters are the staples of fantasy. Swords and magic, fairies and dragons, adventures and death; all things went hand in hand in some worlds not our own. Elaine Dawn grew up listening to those stories as a child, imagining, aspiring, yet as she grew she slowly lost her dreams and became detached from what the world could be, slowly becoming one with the world that was. Yet one night she found herself in a dream that became reality, and oh there they were; heroes and monsters, swords of steel, magic of tales, fairies and dragons of old, and adventures that held riches and death both. She had no fantastic magic, no supernatural strength. All she had was herself, her coin, and her life. But that was enough. As she stared into the distance, to the mountain-sized horrors of the night, she smiled and tossed her coin once again.

To The Far Shore
Post apocalyptic Oregon Trail. The apocalypse has come and gone. And come back again, and left again... nobody really knows how often. Nothing lasts forever, but nothing is ever completely gone. Which is a shame for young Mazelton, as his family has been around a terribly long time, and made an astonishing amount of enemies. Millenia's worth. So he has to run- from mobs, cannibals, soldiers, sailors, cholera, cattle, thieving sales-monks, starvation, mechanical horrors, vengeful spirits, negotiating your own marriage, and poison of every sort. Fortunately, his not terribly nice family has trained him well in the arts of core polishing. Or as you and I might know it- turning radioactive pellets into useful tools. And weapons. Updates Monday-Wednesday-Friday. Usual defensive tags applied. The goal isn't exactly family friendly, but you have probably seen worse on network TV. After the watershed. Not full blown HBO, let's say. This is the first novel I am sharing publicly, so feedback is very much appreciated and encouraged. Act 1 of the novel is completed, but do please let me know what works, what doesn't, and what you would like to see more of. Thank you, and Enjoy!
