《Byakuya X Reader》🕊Despair🕊

We slowly walked towards the big red doors. Every step felt like a knife being plunged through my heart. Every step I took reminded me that I was coming one step closely to the moment I was found out. The moment I would die. They find the mastermind, they find me. We both die.
I stood silently against the wall, my face was still and emotionless as I watched everyone come in. Everyone was weary and tired. The second trial of the day... we just lost Makoto, Taka and Sakura.
'It's time for the class trial!' Monokuma cheered as we all stepped into the lift. 'I can't wait for the despair on your faces!'
'Monokuma talks a big game, but he and the mastermind are gonna pay,' Mondo pounded his fists together as the lift started to descend into the pits of hell.
We all walked into the room, standing at the podiums as the trial began. 'Where do we even start..?' I crossed my arms.
'Well... who would have the knowledge to make the executions and Monokuma? We could start with that,' Leon suggested.
'The only one that could do that.. is Chihiro..' Mondo said.
'Chihiro would have sufficient knowledge on the matter...' Kyoko started to think. 'It is our best lead so far..'
'But Chihiro? Come on! He's too weak to do a killing game like this!' Leon protested.
'We know whoever the mastermind is, they must be illusive. They've evaded the police and others, they even created a whole group dedicated to they're cause. They must be a master of hiding in plain sight,' Celeste pointed out.
'But, Why would Chihiro make Alter Ego if he was the mastermind? What do you think Y/N?' Byakuya looked over at me.
'No... I did a thorough analysis on Chihiro when he died and.. in the morgue. No pulse, no signs of life, nothing. He's dead. Even if he was the mastermind, after his death, the killing game would have stopped to function as it is,' I explained as I sighed. Chihiro was such a sweet guy. He was shy and insecure about his flaws, but he managed to make a name for himself through his talent and was able to make friends with people... even if it did lead to his death.
'Right.. I guess we should trust you're judgement. You do know about forensics and that stuff,' Leon shrugged.
'Yeah...' I murmured. Why not trust me? The very remanent you want gone that's hiding in plain sight. Why not? Brilliant idea. I pursued my lips. I felt quite... sour.
'Where to now?' Mondo asked.
'I hate to suggest this... but, Kyoko, as far as we know, you're the only one to survive the executions,' Celeste frowned as she asked. 'Maybe.. you know the mastermind..?'
'The point I think she's trying to say, is that Kyoko could be the mastermind,' Byakuya rolled his eyes.

'Hm, I see why you would think that, but, I'm afraid it's not me,' She shook her head.
'Well, can we prove it's not you? You know?' Leon crossed his arms.
'Oh.. um... I can,' I said quietly.
'Go ahead,' Celeste smiled.
'Well, I found a letter from the headmaster. He knew whoever the mastermind was... as well as the remanent,' I pulled the letter out of my pocket. '⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️, the Ultimate Despair, the one behind the horrible events that turned hopes peak into a safe hold for the future hopes of our world. As I write this, I know it won't be long until I am gone. She's sending her pawn after me, ⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️⬛️. I hope whoever finds this can defeat her, her sister and the rest of her pawns. As to my knowledge, the girl is the only one of her pawns within the school. But, I can't be sure. I only hope my daughter survives.
- Jin Kirigiri,' I paused 'The mastermind blanked out their name and the remnants. Also, why would she kill her own father? He wanted his daughter to live, so why would he accuse her,' I pointed out.
'Good point,' Leon nodded. 'Alright, so it's not any of the dead, not Kyoko... then it must be what I was thinking before. I bet even the headmaster got it wrong,'
'What? Who is it then?' Mondo looked up.
'It's all of you! Well, almost. Everyone here apart from Y/N,' Leon exclaimed.
'What...' I started to laugh before o realised he was serious 'oh... you're serious aren't you..'
'That's not what I think! I thinks it's all of you but Y/N!' Celeste shook her head.
'What? No. Fucking idiots. It's all of you but Y/N,' Mondo said.
'No, you're all being plebians. Its you all who organised this game and decided to put me and Y/N in it. You're all the masterminds but us,' Byakuya rolled his eyes.
Are they being serious...?
'Um, hello? Are you all being serious here?' I laughed.
'Why wouldn't we be serious? Our lives are on the line,' Byakuya said.
'Well, why do you think that?' I asked.
'Monokuma gave me a photo that proved it! You all said you hadn't met each other before this game, but in the photo, you're all there apart from me and Y/N,' Celeste explained.
'What? No, he gave me a photo with the you all.. apart from Y/N, you know,' Leon shook his head.
'This is why I didn't take whatever Monokuma wanted me too,' Kyoko sighed.
'Oh! I see what's happened!' I laughed slightly. 'You idiots,' I joked. 'If everyone else is in the photo... who took the picture? You did. In the photo Monokuma gave you, you were the photographer,' I sighed.
'That doesn't make any sense...' Celeste's eyes widened 'why would we not remember it..?'

'Because Monokuma took away 2 years of our memories,' Kyoko stated. 'That was why, up until now, I was unable to remember my talent. I am the Ultimate Detective,'
'Then... why isn't Y/N in the photo?' Mondo frowned and I felt my heart stop.
'Maybe she was hiding behind someone?' Leon suggested.
'Nope!' Monokuma laughed 'If you guess the real reason she isn't in the photo's, you'll get a special prize!'
'Wait... the photos, look at them closely. Maybe we'll see her in the back..?' Celeste suggested.
'Y/N...' Byakuya looked over at me and I felt myself begin to shake 'Do you know why?'
'...no,' I lied and everything went silent.
'Y/N, I've known you were lying for a while now, but you needn't make it that blatantly obvious,' Kyoko stated.
'what?' I murmured, beads of sweat dripping down my face.
'Earlier, in the canteen/cafeteria, you said you had no idea who the remanent was and had assumed they died. That was a lie,'
'What? I really have no idea why you thing I'm lying, I know about as much as you do. When Alter Ego first told me, I assumed they had died, but when Monokuma mentioned they were alive I realised I was wrong,' I shrugged 'Thats all I know,'
'Y/N, we just need to know why your not in the picture,'
'Are you a Remanent?'
'Why are you lying'
'Please tell me the truth, I won't be mad,'
'Where are you in the photo?'
'What are you hiding?'
'Are you the mastermind?'
'Is the mastermind threatening you?'
'Enough!' I yelled, feeling tears start to well up in my eyes. 'Please, be quiet,' I fell down, rested my arms on top of the podium as I sat there, tears spilling from my eyes.
'Y/N..' Byakuya started to speak.
'Please don't... I don't want to have to go through it again... please don't... don't die... please,' I felt myself shatter into a million pieces.
'She's guilty! I knew it!' Mondo said as he pounded his firsts together.
'Please, tell us the truth,' Celeste spoke in a calm and reassuring manor.
'Fine..' I cried 'We were being dumb... we thought we could save her... we didn't know... we were just being stupid,'
'Save who?' Celeste questioned.
'Miss Yukizome... she was our teacher... she managed to bring us together... we wanted to save her... we thought we could...' I sobbed. 'But... Mikan... she was already gone... she pushes Chiaki into somewhere... we didn't realise...'
'Mikan? Chiaki? Who are they?' She continued to ask questions.
'My classmates... my friends... It was all a trap... we were here... in the courtroom when it happened... Chaiki... she... she...' I felt tears flowing from my cheeks as I struggled to breath.
'Take your time,'
'She was killed... we had to watch... we couldn't look away... she died... she was killed before our eyes and we could save her!' I cried. 'She didn't deserve to die! She was kind and sweet... she held us together... But, they killed her and we couldn't do anything,'
'Whose 'they'?' She raised an eyebrow.
'The ultimate despairs and the Ultimate... Ultimate,' I stifled a sob.
'Who are they?'
'Mukuro... Junko... Izuru,' I sniffed 'they killed her and they made us do it... they made us kill... they made us monsters!'
'I believe I understand the situation now,' Kyoko sighed. 'Y/N, you were not originally in our class but you were transferred. Before that happened your friend Chiaki was killed and you became a remanent of Despair and worked for the mastermind; Junko Enoshima,'
'No... that can't be true. It's not true, is it Y/N?' Byakuya asked me, a hint of fear in his voice.
'I'm sorry... it is,' I cried.
'Aww, such a shame Y/N. Who knew the once cold hearted killer could turn into this! What a pathetic waste of space. I would have killed you, but you were too much of a useful asset to kill off so soon!' Monokuma laughed.
'Junko, come out here and face us,' Celeste yelled at the bear.
'Hmm... since you instinct!' The bear suddenly went limp and I heard the echoing sound of heels coming down the hallway and looked up to see her. Junko Enoshima.
'My, my, my, what have we got here! Such a sight to behold,' she laughed 'It fills me with such despair!'
'Junko. You're the mastermind. You're the one who did this?' Byakuya gritted his teeth.
'Well duh! But I couldn't have done it alone! I'm glad I had such useful helpers to help out! You did a great job, Y/N! You carried your part out perfectly! You kidnapped and executed the headmaster of hopes peak!' She grinned.
'I... I didn't want to,' I sobbed.
'Does that make any difference? You've killed countless people, how were they any different? You killed because you were asked to. It's how you've always done things,' Her voice became monotone and emotionless.
'I'm sorry... I'm so sorry... Kyoko... I'm sorry... just... kill me,' I cried, feeling my throat begin to dry up.
'Y/N!' Byakuya yelled and before he could run over to me, Celeste stopped him, holding him back.
'No, we shouldn't interfere in this,' She shook her head.
'Please... just execute me... I can't take it... these memories of all of it... I want it to go away... I want to go away... I've caused so much pain... please... just please...' I looked up at my friends.

Some people just want acceptance, stability, and the warmth of their loved ones to drive away the cold loneliness of the night. And in a world where magic is the bedrock of society, where magic is what determines who is preferred for siring children, where people with high magical ability are destined to live in great luxury and those without magic simply live to make due, this difference in values and perspective could not have a starker contrast. As Eli and the people around him navigate the misconceptions and deceptions of this world, he will represent a great and magnificent future for the human race. One where humanity will stand above the elves, dwarves, orcs, fairies, and all the horrors of the world. Fortuna Verto
A girl’s luck changes when her world changes upon itself, sending her back and forth between a world she knows and another that shouldn’t even exist. Working with her parallel self from that other world, the two must adjust to their alternate form when visiting the other’s world, as they search for a way to escape the chains of misfortune they are bound to. While this story is the conclusion of the trilogy, it is also fully capable of standing alone in its own light, as the world of Celese itself is no longer a place the characters will be journeying through. However, the events of the story are a spoiler for all previous books, in case that matters to anyone. This book has an additional chapter after the final chapter that represents the trilogy conclusion, and should not be read until all three books are read first. Fortuna Verto continues the events of Essentia Animus to advance society into a sci-fi interpretation of Celese, bringing events to a distant world of another star. At the same time, events interpret a real-world advancement into a similar sci-fi age of another planet that shares Earth’s galaxy, a planet that has also been linked by the Celesi Veil. English remains predominant in both worlds of the story, but the presence of both sides makes certain Aethyx terms stand out, while Earth-styled scientific terms will also stand in a powerful contrast. Instrumentation remains an important aspect of the Elemental Era, but the influence of the gift has grown distant after discovering the superiority of the elements. Harnessing the elements had eliminated some of the original limitations of instrumentation, allowing for a self-sustaining focal source that provides solutions to problems such as automation. This turns the development available from the previous modern-day sense of a fantasy to one that is deep-future. Finally, opening access to the passage across the veil will open this progress in comparison to a very similar deep-future parallel world without such fantasy elements, contrasting the laws of physics with the laws of elements in a convergence of time and space.
