I looked at Celeste as she stood in front of me, my eyes trailing to the ground. 'I'm sorry,'
'There is no need to apologise, Y/N. I had already figured something was off about you, but your secret is safe as long as mine is too,' She sighed, taking my hand in hers.
'But, I've killed people, don't you understand, Celeste? Or.. Taeko?' She smiled softly.
'We have all done things here we are ashamed of in our past, I know what you did was wrong, but I have a feeling you can change for the better. I, myself, had to do something's I regret to get to where I am today,' She pulled me back up onto my feet. 'Now then, let us continue to explore, shall we?' She offered me her arm and I took it, linking us together. I smiled slightly. Here was a girl I barley new, and yet we had grown so close.
We entered the next room, the library. It had a cozy and an old feel to it. One that could pull you into a bliss of endless reading. There were shelves upon shelves upon shelves, several books and adventures to be had.
I walked over to Makoto and Kirigiri, who were investigating an envelope. 'Oh, Y/N,' Kyoko stated.
'Hey,' I smiled awkwardly, my ears burning with embarrassment that I had even admitted what I was to Taeko, I can't let the others find out.
'This letter here, it says the school was shut down due to something,' Makoto explained.
'Shut down? But we're here? Did they not tell us?' I scanned the paper.
'Furthermore, it looks old, it was dusty and I believe it could be 1-2 years old at this point,' Kyoko traced her finger along the envelope.

'But, we would've heard about that, why didn't we?'
'It's just another mystery to add to the list,' Makoto sighed.
I left the two alone and walked over to a door that was connected to some sort of side room, but before I could enter, Byakuya stopped me. 'You can't go in there,' he glared down at me.
'Why not?' I asked, trying to squeeze past him into the room.
'You can't go in there,' He stated again.
'Okay, Mr Toothpick,' I crossed my arms, glaring at him as I walked off before swearing under my breath.
I grabbed a hold of Celeste's hand and we walked back to the dining hall together. Just before we entered I noticed Mukuro glaring at me, motioning for me to come talk to her. I quickly shook my head and mouthed 'not now'
'Hm, Y/N?' Celeste turned to me.
'Oh, nothing, sorry,' I smiled as we walked in together.
Everyone was gathered and we all started to talk about what we found, including the clues. However, we still came to no conclusion, it was all loose ends. We all separated again and went our different ways in the school.
'Hey, Y/N!' Sayaka came up to me.
'Oh hey, did you need something?' I smiled, holding my hands behind my back.
'I was thinking of holding a karaoke night, to try to lift everyone's spirits. We're going to hold it tonight in the av room,' She smiled slightly.
'Sounds fun, alright, I'll come,' I smirked as I waved to her as I walked over to Mukuro's dorm.
I knocked gently on the door. I stood there quietly, waiting for her to open up. The door opened a crack and I saw the blue eyes of my once friend. She looked at me and then opened the door further, looking around to see if anyone else was about for grabbing my arm and pulling me into her room.

'Woah, you okay, Muki?' I rubbed my arm where she grabbed me. 'You need to loosen your grip,'
'Sorry, we just need to talk,' I noticed dark bags under her eyes.
'You look like you haven't slept in a while. So, what's up? Need someone to rock you to sleep like a baby?' I mocked her while laughing.
'I see you hanging about with Celeste a lot. I don't trust her a bit,' She crossed her arms, leaning against the wall.
'Well, I do trust her, and she trusts me. She knows what I am and I know who she is. It's none of your business, Mukuro,' I opened the door, leaving her behind, not bothering to here her out.
For the rest of the afternoon, I swam a couple of laps around the pool with Sakura and then did a couple more work outs before finishing up. She was grateful I was able to train with her, it was helping her get over Aoi's death.
Everyone ate together and then most of us went to Sayaka's karaoke hang out. Some people like, Byakuya, Toko and Hifumi didn't show up. We ended up signing so much, our voices hurt when we finally reached 10pm. We were all laughing and joking so much, time went by so quickly it was amazing. I almost forgot we were even in a killing game to begin with. Celeste and I had even managed to sing a duet that was occasionally interrupted by one of us laughing.
Everyone returned to their dorms, including me. I sat in my bed, staring at the ceiling blankly as I tried to go to sleep. It felt like hours passed before I left my room, walking to the library to grab a book to help me fall asleep, as I entered, I noticed a light on, and then the person sitting there. Byakuya.
'What are you doing?'He glared at me.
'Sorry, I just wanted a book,' I rolled my eyes, walking to the bookshelf and looking at the titles.
'Try that one,' he pointed to a book on the table.
'Huh?' I walked over to it, picking it up.
'It wasn't to my taste, but seems like something you'd like,'
'Thanks,' I smiled. 'This was something I was looking to read a while ago,'
'Just get out of my sight.' He scowled.
'And here I thought you were being nice, I chuckled, walking over to the door 'Good night,'
'Hm, good night,' he responded before I left back to my room to read.
That was weird. I thought before I returned to my dorm, sitting in my bed, turning on the light to read the book Byakuya had found for me.

Prey No More
Imagine being given a second chance at life. Not only that but with a life you chose (sort of). This is exactly the situation that our character is in. He was once a Biology Graduate Student involved in a special program in Alaska studying Polar Bears. In an ironic twist of fate his life is ended by exactly that which he was trying to study. Now, in a new world, he refuses to be anything but the top of the food chain. IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a story I began writing a year and a half ago and decided to shelf, I'm coming back to it now because I miss writing; however, I have not carved out any time specifically for this and, as of now, it will be something I do on the side for fun. Currently I have 9 chapters plus a prologue written; I'm going to be going through and editting it to be in a present tense (from past), as well as changing some of the story and grammar. Let me know what you think, and thanks for reading.
