《The Impossible Girl》Thirteen

Marrisa led Jane up the Cullen's driveway and they were met by the family. Jane kept her head down, hoping to lessen any hostility. Jasper jumped down the steps and swept Marrisa up.
"Hello to you, too," Marrisa giggled.
"I was so worried. Alice couldn't see you after they attacked you," Jasper breathed.
"I'm perfectly fine. I have brought a guest."
Jane glanced up, then looked back down. Edward pulled Bella behind him, baring his teeth.
"Why have you brought her here?" Edward demanded.
Marrisa gave him a look. "She's under my care now."
"She's part of the Volturi!" Edward growled.
"I know, Edward."
"How could you be so ignorant! I can't-"
Jasper growled lowly and Marrisa's powers surged, making the ground shake.
"Watch yourself, boy," Marrisa seethed through clenched teeth. She then turned to Jane. "Show them."
Jane carefully stepped closer and held out her hand. Marrisa's lip print glinted in the sunshine; Jane gazed it it fondly.
"I don't understand," Edward said.
"That is my seal. We made a deal and we sealed it. It can not be broken," Marrisa explained. "Jane is no longer a Volturi member. There's not many members left, as a matter of fact."
Jane flinched slightly, remembering the fear she felt at the time. Edward noticed her flinch and picked through her mind. Edward was astonished at the scene that replayed in Jane's mind. Marrisa with black eyes, the majority of the guard exploding into ash and the way her voice sounded; demonic.
"Your curse took over," Edward said.
Marrisa smiled sadly, stealing a glance at Jane. Jasper was surprised at the feelings Jane was having. She was scared, yet she adored Marrisa.
'Edward, Jane is having some interesting emotions. She's scared, but her adoration is towards Marrisa.'

Edward frowned. Why was Jane being so... docile? Why did she adore Marrisa? Was it because she spared her life? He kept picking through her mind, but there was no sign of deceit.
"What happened?" Bella asked Marrisa.
"Aro tried reading me, I refused. He got angry and attacked me, but it seemed like he was planning that from the get go. So, I killed about 97% of the guard. The wives are still alive, though," Marrisa shrugged.
Edward saw how Jane came to Marrisa's defence in Jane's mind. He furrowed his brows.
"You defended her," Edward directed his statement towards Jane.
Jane nodded. "She forgave me and showed me mercy."
"We can continue this later. Where is Melody?" Marrisa asked of Jasper.
Emmett grinned and the rest of the Cullens backed away. Marrisa raised an eyebrow.
"She's at La Push," Jasper said.
Marrisa blinked. "Why?"
"She wanted to visit someone," Jasper said vaguely.
Marrisa crossed her arms, letting Jasper feel her frustration.
"Alright," he sighed. "She came across the wolves. One of them imprinted on her. She wanted to visit him when we explained what it meant."
Marrisa stared at her husband in disbelief. Did he really just let her go? Those mutts are dangerous! The ground started to vibrate.
"You had one job!" Marrisa shouted.
Emmett raised is hand. "To be fair, Jasper did go dad mode, but she teleported away."
The vibrations ceased. "What?"
"She teleported."
Marrisa's eyes widened. Teleportation?
"Fuck me," Marrisa whispered.
She was going to drive down to La Push and have words with many people. Alice tossed a pair of car keys im nto Marrisa's waiting hand. Marrisa slid into Edward's Volvo as Jane appeared by the driver's side window.

"May I accompany you?" Jane asked.
"Sure."
Jane was sitting in the passenger seat before Marrisa started the car.
"Marrisa, I don't-"
"Shut up, Jasper," Marrisa sing-songed.
The car peeled out of the drive way and down the road. Jasper threw his hands up in frustration. He turned to his family.
"Why does no one want to listen to me today?" He demanded.
Once again, no one had an answer.
Melody appeared in someone's backyard. She looked around, taking in the beauty of nature.
"Are you lost?" A female voice sounded.
Melody turned to see a native woman staring at her from the treeline. She had short, black hair.
"A little, I'm sorry if I'm intruding. I'm looking for Paul," Melody smiled.
The girl studied Melody for a moment before realization hit. "Oh, you're Melody!"
"Yes?"
"I'm Leah. Uh, you can follow me and I can take you to Paul. He's just right down the road," the girl said.
"Thank you, Leah," Melody nodded her head.
Melody followed Leah a little ways to a house. They walked up to the already open door, Leah calling for Paul. Melody walked through the threshold to see a woman at the stove and six boys sitting at the table surrounded by food. One boy stood up hastily at the name, staring at Melody. He was quite handsome to Melody. He was less babyfaced than the rest of them.
"Who's she?" One of them asked in a hushed voice.
"Dude, that's Melody. Paul's imprint," another answered.
"Hi," Melody said shyly.
"Hey," Paul replied in surprise.
Melody suddenly realized that she was being watched. She looked around uncomfortably. Paul glanced around, noticing that his imprint was uncomfortable.
"You wanna go for a walk?" Paul suggested.
Melody nodded gratefully. "Please."
Paul all but darted around the table, gesturing to the door. Melody walked out, glancing back.
When Paul deemed it far enough away from the house, he decided to chat.
"What are you doing here?" Paul asked.
"I wanted to meet you. Officially," Melody smiled.
"So, you know...?"
"Yes," she said simply.
Paul nodded, not sure what else to say. Melody was watching him.
"I can tell that its confusing to you. Its confusing to me, too. Why don't we just start off slow, you know, get to know each other," Melody suggested.
"Okay, that sounds good," Paul smiled.
"So. What's your favorite color?"
"Are you serious?" Paul laughed.
"Just answer the question."
Paul thought for a moment. "Green, yours?"
"Purple."
"Where are you from?" Paul asked.
"Texas. You?"
"Here. I grew up on the reservation."
They continued to talk and get to know each other for a couple hours. They learned many things about one another. When Paul found out that she had been killed, he was furious. Melody placed a gentle hand on his arm and he immediately relaxed. The moment was interrupted by Seth Clearwater running up to them.
"Hey! Um, your mom is at the treaty line. She brought a leech and she's not happy."
Melody and Paul exchanged a worried glance, following Seth to the treaty line.

Unbound Deathlord: Challenge
Due to Amazon's Kindle Unlimited rules, I had to pull most of the book content from RoyalRoad. Only sample chapters remain. To read a fiction that will never be removed from Royal Road, I recommend my other fiction: Immortal Conqueror. The first two books of the series are out on Amazon: Book 1: Unbound Deathlord: ChallengeBook 2: Unbound Deathlord: Obliteration Book 1: Challenge When virtual reality becomes real enough that people feel as if they’re being transported to another world, Valia Online arrives.A man running from his past joins the game to forget it all. Calling himself Jack Thorn, he chooses an undead race, Deathlord.A mage by choice, and a swordsman by necessity, he soon finds out that he’ll need to use much more than magic and steel to survive; strategy, creativity, and carefully chosen words can often accomplish what simple attacks can’t.As the game becomes too real and touches a part of him that he’d rather leave buried, he is faced with two questions:Who is he, really? And who should he become?

The entire novel's philosophical proposal is about finding meaning in a nihilistic world. This novel is a fun juvenalia take on the impact of the 'Death of God' and Descartes's skepticism. ;) (Back cover)

Will Eason defy his limits while pursuing after his parents? Or will he lose the motivation to do so and selfishly pursue after power? >>NOTE: This is my first novel, so go easy on me with the typos and grammar mistakes.Release Time : Minimum=>1 chapter(good plot)/weekI will release more if I get enough time >>Title Name: The first title name was called Limits Defying Human which is basically the theme of the story. Superhuman Magus is a title that is based on a concept. Can't say more as it's a spoiler. I prefer the first title but it's just that the current title might attract more people. First title didn't make the novel seem like it's fantasy based. >>Motivation to create Novel: I created this novel to implement the vast imaginations I had while I was not creating a novel. So, there will be a lot of extreme imaginations. Most of these imaginations can only be implemented afterwards as it's a story. So it will take a while.
